  1. 1. Have your say on the summer transfer window.

    • Should have had more cash to spend. Almost everyone else did.

The media can link our players to whatever clubs they like, which they always do this time of the year. How many were linked with others last summer and how many did leave? I'm not worried, I'm more worried with the potential takeover than with our players leaving! :)

So what's that now: Savage, McCarthy, Derbyshire, Roberts, and Pedersen all linked with moves away from Ewood. You've got to love the media.

I'm just waiting for the "Spurs to Hijack Dan Deal" Back page headlines.

The BBC Gossip (bullsh*t) column was massive today!

As per the last few days (barring Sunday), we have not been mentioned anywhere with regards to buying anyone.

And it is not a case of Hughes holding his cards close to his chest - he does know not what to hold at the moment!!

Yeah right, secret hotel meeting anyone?

Sounds like a secret hotel room meeting with just the two of em!

Quote Maureen.....

“I could tell that he wanted to play for me again because we had a wonderful time together.

Just noticed after the bbc updated its gossip column

Six Premiership clubs are interested in Feyenoord's Royston Drenthe - with West Ham and Sunderland the leading chasers. (The Independent)

Not that we really are deserate for another left back but he is a top quality player. Also int eh column was more on West Ham offering £10m for Benni Mc.

Agreed, he looks exceptional. We're not crying out for another left back (although I'm unimpressed by our backup for Warnock), but this kid looks like he will be something else. Besides, from what I've seen of him he looks like he could easily fill in at left wing. A bit of rotation could do us good, and providing sterner competition for Pedersen would perhaps help stave off his inconsistency. I also don't see why he would go to Sunderland or West Ham over us, apart from larger crowds and potentially more money. In terms of the quality of our team, we are established as better. And have likely UEFA cup football, and a better manager. All that said, we obviously can't afford to splash the amount it would require for such a player if he isn't going to be a nailed on starter.

Will be the first time that Curbishley has had a decent amount of money to play with, but he just seems to be intent to throw it all about.

Exactly, and here's an article to that effect:

Curbishley flaunting West Ham's wealth

Lucas gets a mention, by the way: "Then there is the question of Curbishley's January recruitment drive. Of six arrivals, only Lucas Neill, the probable captain next season, can be judged an unqualified success, albeit one noted for another immense salary." Lucas as captain? When did that happen?

"Fulham are close to agreeing a £5.5m deal for West Brom striker Diomansy Kamara - with Heidar Helguson going the other way. (Daily Mail)"

I wouldn't have thought that the sexual orientation of one player would ever be quoted as a reason for buying another................

I know many have their reservations and criticisms but, if he is available for the right price, then I think we should think about going in for Mido again. In his first season for Spurs I thought he looked a really good player and let's not forget that only last summer Sparky waqs willing to pay £4.5 million for him.

Obviously I would like us to go in for a big name, because we already have a fair few strikers, but he could be a good option.

I'd love to have Bellamy, McCarthy, Roberts and Derbyshire up front next season, but he could be a good alternative.

Players I think we should keep tabs on, in order of preference: Yakubu, Bellamy, Defoe, Crouch, Nugent, Mido, Beattie...
