daren Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 On SSN last night, they said that the £16M fee could rise depending on performance. One that they mentioned that it was +£3m if Barca reach the CL final.

Roar of the Rover Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I'm gonna miss the guy bigtime, everytime Arsenal came down to Ewood thats the first thing that came into my head, Henry's gonna be there. There won't be big crowds at the Arsenal game now, it might not even stay a Cat A game.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 If there's provision for it to go up by about another 14m next season i.e. that 3m plus maybe 500k per La Liga goal then the fee would be about right! Eee.............just think next summer we might be able to talk about some Rovers related speculation!
American Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Sorry I didn't bother to mention them earlier. Reyes was brilliant when he first came to Arsenal, but then went off the boil completely. I'm pretty sure that he wants out as well. Adebayor is also a good striker, but nowhere near good enough to lead ther Arsenal front line IMO. Adebayor has potential, but at this point, cost them at least 3rd place last season. I can think of at least a couple of games his poor finishing cost them the 3 points, and I didn't watch too many. Reyes had a pretty good sub appearance last week, though.
Roar of the Rover Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 They're already talking about Benni down there - http://z13.invisionfree.com/goonersweb/ind...showtopic=23265

Glad to see the back of him, always scores against Rovers, and any big change in the top four is most welcome.
Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Arsenal will suffer unless they bring someone in, or Walcott lives up to the hype, and becomes 'Terry Henry'. If Wenger goes to Real as well, then the state of flux will be even more damaging. What a shame. Maybe they'll buy Nonda.
Blueboy Downunder Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 if benni is still a rovers player at the start of the season, then the acid test for us, will come as the january transfer window approaches. if we aare having a decent season, and entrenched in the top half, then i reckon the club will wait to see if we make the champs league , qualifiers. however....if by the start of january, we are having a @#/? season, then put your house on it that benni is gone in january. on shabani nonda, well on one hand i am thinking 1.4M is not a big gamble if it pays off, but on the other hand i am thinking why waste money on him.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 They're already talking about Benni down there - http://z13.invisionfree.com/goonersweb/ind...showtopic=23265 ''Blackburn only paid £2.5 million for him, so I would hope we could get him for under £7million,all we need do is buy out his remaining contract as he is over 28.''
Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Fool. The player himself has to do the buying. A bit arrogant, but then he's as Arsehole fan, so what do you expect?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Why dont we just test the water with Liverpool and offer a £7 million bid for Bellamy for crying out louds sake! We'll soon find out whether they want to sell or even if Bellamy wants a return to Ewood,as things are we seem stuck between a rock and a high place.
John Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Why dont we just test the water with Liverpool and offer a £7 million bid for Bellamy for crying out louds sake! SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Thats just fine then, with the pre-season games about 2 weeks away and other clubs sniffing around. Take it easy JW!
Eddie Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 You sure have a strange view on things. Glad to see the back of him, always scores against Rovers, and any big change in the top four is most welcome. It is a shame to see such a great player leave and I did always enjoy watching him, but it significantly increases our chances of making the top 4 so it certainly has a silver lining.
John Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 but it significantly increases our chances of making the top 4 so it certainly has a silver lining. Been on the French wine this afternoon Eddie?
Eddie Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I didn't say that our chances were good, but they just got a little bit better.
modes98 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Why dont we just test the water with Liverpool and offer a £7 million bid for Bellamy for crying out louds sake! Most reports seem to point to liverpool wanting to make sure they have got their new striker(s) on baord before they start shipping out the old ones. It doesn't seem as if the americans are as forthcoming with their funds as they keep saying they will be! Plus we've probably already enquired and know what the situation is regarding when to make an offer that they may accept. It's annoying but it's just a waiting game. Unless we want nonda instead
Roar of the Rover Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Now that Thierry is at Barca, someone has to leave, it has to be Gudjohnsen. I would'nt mind him as he's proven himself in the Premiership.
tcj_jones Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I'd not only "not mind" him, I'd be absolutely ecstatic if he came to the club! I remember a video being posted by a board member last year showing some of his best moments and he is truly top class. We missed out on him last summer, but maybe this could be our year?
yellowsubmarine Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Now that Thierry is at Barca, someone has to leave, it has to be Gudjohnsen. I would'nt mind him as he's proven himself in the Premiership. It was reported earlier than Gudjohnsen prefers a move to Manchester United. If United are really after him, we will have no chance.
brfc fan Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I'm gonna miss the guy bigtime Here here. I think it's a massive loss for the Prem. Everyone knows Henry, even non-footy fans. He's a legend and we have to respect him and thank him for entertaining us the way he did. Good Luck Thierry.
brfc fan Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 A VERY interesting article from the Independent today today: LINK It doesn't mention anything about Benni being a replacement.
Roar of the Rover Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 You sure have a strange view on things. Glad to see the back of him, always scores against Rovers, and any big change in the top four is most welcome. I know where your coming from but Thierry was a talented talented fotballer. It's an end of an era.
gumboots Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 It doesn't mention anything about Benni being a replacement. It's also factually incorrect because Dein's son is not Henry's agent - he's his personal manager, whatever that means. He can't be called his agent because he's not registered.
