herbergeehh Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 No European football again, i think he will be. Yeah, but we're all biased towards our favourite clubs.. Torres is playing for his, too. Hopefully, there's other players out there than Maldini and a few at Roma to appreciate the club and it's supporters. Then again, Reyes did leave Sevilla, so I'm sure Torres will too. Just hope it's for a better club than Liverpool.

LeftWinger Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Owen to go? Viduka seems to think Owen is on his way for 9m. At least our board put release clauses in the contracts more than what we have paid. To pay 17m, get a handful of games, then lose him for 9m is a real kick in the teeth. If I was a Newcastle fan I'd be livid with both Owen and the Newcastle board. 13 appearances in 2 years - making an 8m loss on the transfer fee + wages say 100k per week. Those 13 apperances will have cost them roughly 18m (less any compensation the FA paid for his inury with England)

herbergeehh Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 That being said, the only quote in the whole article (repeated) is Mark Viduka's: "I'm not sure whether Michael is staying". Which isn't really a surprise.
rover_groo Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 according to this the boys will be back on 2nd July which is .......... NEXT MONDAY Yeah that was the date set before the players went on their summer break. Looks as though are lovely neighbours 'The Dingles', think they're too good and won't be due in for their training until Wednesday 4th. Maybe they're expecting a quick return to the First Division!!
Presty On Tour Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 hull look ambitious http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...r+Juninho+talks
Cocker Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 hull look ambitious http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...r+Juninho+talks And I applaud them for it too. I wish more teams would try their luck with things like this instead of saying - oh no, he will never come to us.
sussexrover Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Savage for Camara? Only from Tribal football - quotes the MEN but cant find it on the website. Interesting - Wigan did ok with Camara and Roberts up front.Wouldn't want to see Savage go really though. Don't see it happening myself but you never know....
Presty On Tour Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 why is savage being linked with a move away from ewood park every week? i don't think he wants to leave, i don't think hughes wants him to leave and as far as i know he is with ooijer and a blackburn physio getting ready fro pre season. he is a vital part of our setup imo
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Sav for Sheff utd? Sav for Wigan??.....just where the flurk are these stories coming from,I'm sure he's not that desperate to end his career. Unsure about him at first but his work ethic and sheer enthusiasm won me over!
Hughesy Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Would you not be tempted to sell him though if a decent offer came in? Given his age and the fact we have alot of midfielders?
American Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 No. The intangibles he brings to the club make any money we get for him not worth it. Brum fans will tell you that his leaving played a major role in their relegation.

Those 13 apperances will have cost them roughly 18m (less any compensation the FA paid for his inury with England) The FA have covered half of his wages whilst he has been off and FIFA have very recentlly agreed to a £7m compensation package for the bar codes from the World Cup pot as compensation for losing a player in a major tournament. It basically means that Obefemi Martins has not cost them a penny as cover for the little fella. And they still have both of them as assets. Not a bad legacy.
Hughesy Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Its starting to annoy me now that we havent done anything - we usually have 1 or 2 through the door in time for pre-season dont we? Hope the club isnt hanging on for the takeover!
dillo_dillo Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I'm counting our squad each position. We must need few more striker and Right hand side player (Winger, Wing back, Side back) and...maybe one more Center mid. *It's uncorrected. just in my image.
Roar of the Rover Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 We really need another attacking midfielder who could get us around 5 - 10 goals a season.
daren Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Which we? Liverpool? Mentioning which, apparently Torres will be heading to t'Pool in the next two weeks, according to Guillem Balacque (or however you spell it). With the possibility of Luis Garcia going the other way.
Roar of the Rover Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Ok then, do you want another empty seat at Ewood??
doctorryan Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 No. The intangibles he (Sav) brings to the club make any money we get for him not worth it. Brum fans will tell you that his leaving played a major role in their relegation. I'd go as far as to say that we lost at least 4 spots in the final table because of him being on the injured list the last four months of the season. I think we would have got past Bayer Leverkusen as well with him in the lineup.
brfc_jonesy Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 if we swapped savage for camara, i for one would be extremely ###### off. Would like to see savage stay and im sure we could do alot better than henri camara
92er Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Would you not be tempted to sell him though if a decent offer came in? Given his age and the fact we have alot of midfielders? Yes.
T4E Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 We really need another attacking midfielder who could get us around 5 - 10 goals a season. I'd be quite confident of a full season of Steven Reid giving us exactly that.
