Just wait for the rumours for Defoe. Villa and Man City will be linked with him….

I can't imagine for one moment that Defoe would play club football for Erikkson after he took Walcott to the World Cup instead of him. We should show ambition, a good, solid quick goalscorer who will bag 15 if given a run in't team.... <_<

on his profile it states he is an attacking midfielder and not a foward as the link says.

never heard of this guy tbh but the last guy we had from spain under the souness era was useless. can't remember his name.....

j de pedro wasn't it!!!! absoulute ######!

Gulliem Balague seems to rate him ... see the 'Best signing' section of the Celta Vigo section (article is from just before the start of last season)

http://home.skysports.com/column.aspx?hlid...l=football_home

Although Celta finished near the bottom this season, Nene managed 8 goals from midfield.

According to Norwegian press four Premier League clubs are looking to sign Daniel Braaten from Rosenborg.

Could we be one of the four?

The four are Fulham, Aston Villa, Everton & Bolton. Bolton is the front runner to sign Braaten. So another player we are not intrested in.

Ashley Ward was pretty ###### too, didn't stop David Bentley from becoming a decent signing ;)

Keep away from the Italian. He might be a good player but he wouldn't be for us.

£16.5m for Bent. Henry goes to Barcelona for £16m. Can someone please explain the logic to me? We should get at least £10m for MCcarthy, if he is going of course.

Defoe won't go north. Portsmouth sounds like a good shout. They've got money, Harry Redknapp knows Defoe, he won't have to move house.

Michael Owen for £9m; that we should have a look at.

Somebody at Newcastle screwed up royal if this Owen clause business is correct. Fantasy football to believe he would come here but £9m would be affordable if a world class player like him became available.

Owen would be perfect for Arsenal imo.

Anderson move from Porto to ManU might have to wait one year due to Anderson not getting work permit to UK.

ManU has appealed the decision and will get a final answer in about 48 hours.

He has been granted one

I do agree. I am just dreaming. I don't think Owen will be in Newcastle shirt come August though. I don't think he ever wanted to go there. He would score hundreds of goals for Arsenal as all he'd do is stand near the goal and let the rest of them do the damage and he'll pop up at the opportune moment.

Is it me or is this transfer season rather slow?

Well you shouldn't worry about Quagliarella, since he's out of reach anyway. I'm sure the logical reason to the Bent vs Henry price is age and which clubs are involved. Bent is younger and English, which will inflate the price, and the buyer is Tottenham Hotspurs (with West Ham involved aswell). I'm sure Arsenal also considered the job Henry has done for the club, being their talisman for several seasons contributing both goals and assists. His wage might also be a factor, I'm sure he will earn more than Bent playing for Barcelona.

Anyway, back to our transfer dealings. Don't want Owen, he's shown what a greedy pr1ck he is signing for Newcastle. Okay, I'll change that to - we wouldn't be able to sign Owen, he's too expensive.

Would have been interesting if Julian Dicks were still playing - especially a tackle from behind!!

My Mum's father's name was Dicks, good for her that her Mum got divorced and changed it! :P

My name's Fake and I thought that was bad but Fanni is hilarious!

The Windies were better yesterday and at least finally provided some entertainment. Other than that this "summer" has been torture so far.

Then there's Wimbledon :(

PURLEEES FFS SOMETHING HAPPEN!!!!!!!

Why don't you go and volunteer for the SAS or something? That should keep you occupied for a bit and it definitely would not be boring. ;)

Derby have bicked up Earnshaw for 3.5m after activating a release clause in his contract.

absolute steal in my opinion, a very good player indeed. Dissapointed we didnt have a look at him for that price. His premiership goal tally in a very poor WBA team was good, even though they kept dropping him.

Little bit of trivia on him, he's the only player to score a hat trick at all 4 levels of domestic football, the FA Cup, and at international level.

Also he's prmiership goals per minute ratio is second only to Thierry Henry (thats off wikipedia so not sure how true)

Weird clause though, Norwich sold him for the same amount they paid for him after scoring someting like 27 goals in 44 games. And we thought we were hard done by on clauses.

A couple of things in the papers today.

Sav has turned down a move to wigan.

Fulham to offer 2.5m for Roberts

Us and Celtic after the young dutch lad Rigters. He was top scorer in the under 21 championship but his club stats arent so good. 5 goals in 62 games for his current club.

Ive just checked that Rigters goal record on Wikipedia and it says he's scored 5 goals in 62 games as a Forward for NAC?!

Not really prolific, but would be an interesting buy if we did get him.
