  1. 1. Have your say on the summer transfer window.

    • Should have had more cash to spend. Almost everyone else did.

Hi,

I think i can tell you something about Rigters, as i watched him play the whole season.

It was a big shock for all of us at NAC Breda that maceo did so well at the EC -21. He never really impressed us during last season, maybe because he played as a right winger instead as a striker.. His speed is not his best aspect, but he is strong and smart. He think you don't need to expect to much of him, and let him grow. See him as a player for the future.

Meanwhile there were all sorts of rumours about the fee. The latest one was that Blackburn made a bit of 4 million pounds, well i can tell you, it was partytime among the supporters, but unfortunaly (for us) will the fee be around 400k, due to our great management at the club :(

Rigters has a slight preference for Celtic, but I hope he will join the highest bidder.

Welcome NAC Brada

Can you tell us a bit more about him as a player. what are his strengths and weaknesses.

Thanks!!

Well, as i said, he is not the most fast player you've seen and he is fairly poor in the air. Last season we played a 4-3-3 system with Rigters as right winger. This is not his position but he's not the player that will complain, but just does his job. There is nothing wrong with his personality, a real pro.

He is a strong player, and he can hold a ball. During EC -21 you've seen he can score a goal, which was a surpise to us, because in the 2 seasons he played for us, he scored 5 goals.. but once again, most of the time as a right winger!

Now with his performance at EC -21 Rigters is 'hot'.. and we are keen to sell because we need the money!

2003/04 SC Heerenveen 2 0 Premier Division

2004/05 FC Dordrecht 17 8 First Division

2004/05 NAC Breda 5 0 Premier Division

2005/06 NAC Breda 24 2 Premier Division

2006/07 NAC Breda 32 3 Premier Division

Totaal 80 13

Looking at the Gaurdian's list of released players, the name that really stands out is Veron. I'm not sure where he was last season, but I think it ws on loan at Inter. I'm not sure how he performed their either, but he was a excellent player not too long ago. I'd love to seeus move for him, but I think his wage demands would be absolutely huge. I'm intrigued as to where he will end up as he, apparently, has not been approached.

Veron was on loan at his childhood club back in Argentina this season, Estudiantes.

He did well there, but it is an inferior league obviously. He could probably do a job for us for a couple of seasons. Third time lucky for him in England?

I watched Veron play for Estudiantes in the Argentina league this year courtesy of Fox Soccer Channel here across the pond.Apparently he has played there on loan still from Chelsea but that deal has finally run out.I don't believe at age 32(we will have enough 30+ midfielders in Sav and Tugay) he would be the best option for our midfield nor whether he would come.Apparently Estudiantes is his home club and there even been talk mooted of him running for presisnet of the club.I don't see him leaving Argentina.

EDIT:Apologies Tchocky as I did not see your response

And what makes you think you can trust Bellamy's word for a second? lol

That's really bad news about a cut price City deal for Bellamy, if it's true. I would have thought Bellamy would have more ambition though and would relish the prospect of European football again with us. On top of that he has worked with Hughes at both club and international level now and I would have thought he'd prefer to move back to us over anybody else outside the top four. But I suppose wages might come into it when City and West Ham are in for him.

Wouldn't trust his veracity in certain areas, obviously but in the matter of his own ego I think I would. He thinks he's too good to be the makeweight in a deal and that's probably true, so I certainly don't see his being keen to go in a part exchange for some young guy most people have scarcely heard of.

Really pleased about this signing.

Rigters looks raw as they come but clearly a talent which hasn't been looked after by NEC Breda. I would imagine Sparky is a very happy Manager this evening.

PS nice to pull one over on Celtic and Newcastle as well.
