  1. 1. Have your say on the summer transfer window.

    • Should have had more cash to spend. Almost everyone else did.

Who's gonna cover the lower divisions next year, and feel Rob McCaffery's leg all morning on a Sunday now?

Going off topic

I know its a gag you made there however, I am sure Chris Kamara wont be there with Rob next year anyway and he has been replaced by Claire Thomlinson - which I think is a bad mistake

Blackburn Rovers are keeping tabs on 2 South American youth stars at the on going under 20 World cup in Canada. Celso BORGES and giant defender Kendall WASTON have already come here on trial. They both helped Costa Rica beat Scotland yesterday 2-1......

The chap Jonathan Mcdonald who scores the winner for Costa Rica looks very nippy and a bit special, maybe Rovers should give him a trail as well.

Video Action Costa Rica 2 Scotland 1

Video action V Scotland

(Kendall is the one who hits the bar)

In other Rovers transfer news Blackburn and Bolton are both chasing Henri Camara from Wigan..................

Hmmm..... I like CR's No.12! Also have you ever seen such garbage defending as the young Scots displayed there? Unbelievable!!

11m in the coffers for WBA, thats a good deal for them. Makes you wonder where Fulham got there 2.5m offer for Roberts from when they were willing to spend 6m on a player who has already failed to impress in the prem.

Blimey! Even Fulham and Wigan are spalshing the cash! I hope we have summat up our sleaves - i feel a big impact signing is in order...

Does anyone know anything about Santa Cruz? From what's been said on here his record is poor. Is he worth getting excited over?

Santa Cruz is a good player who's had a few injuries. Tall witha very good touch and passing but his goal scoring record has been poor at Munich considering his level when he was 16. He has been played on the wing alot and not started upfront regularly. I'm pretty sure his record for Paraguay is good...

I'd like us to sign him at the right price.

No point in spending cash because we have it. Equally on players that aren't worth the fees that are being paid out.

We always have targets and it's a case of waiting for the right time to pounce. :rover:

In Hughes interview on Sky Sports News, there is a suggestion we may not sign anymore players this summer.

In a way, that would not really bother me. We had a decent side last year, and with the addition of the key injured players back, IF they are to play to potential then we would be a stronger, better team. I know it's a big IF, and of course there will be more, and different injuries and this is why we need the 2 players for every position that Hughes seems to be aiming for.

Just the small issues of Nonda and the other strikers pecking order to be resolved before Sept 1st.

Someone pointed out in a different thread recently, the difference between 10th and top 5 last season was beating the relegated clubs home and away. That doesn't necessarily require spending £8.5 Milllion on a Reo Coker or £8 million on a Kamara (or what ever the figure is). Rovers more than ever lately are a team, rather than a Fantasy Football play thing.

Reason would be that we don't want to spend anything on new players, if so Hughes must be frustrated. Could also be that we are unable to attract high quality players, if thats the case then I hope we don't spend anything, no use trowing good money after average players.

It's still early days, and for the record I believe we will buy at least one big name player this summer.
