  1. 1. Have your say on the summer transfer window.

    • Should have had more cash to spend. Almost everyone else did.

No, I'm talking about the beginning of this season versus last, there is no point comparing the end of the previous season.

OK wait until September- you are not comparing like with like are you?

And there is every point in comparing the end of last season as that is a valid twelve month comparison of how the club is progressing.

the problem for me is that its alright stating that we need to sign someone, but who, most of the players that clubs want to sell do not get into our team.

so help me out who do you want MH to sign that is avilable and would consider playing for us

As for David Dunn, he has yet to show himself... to be fully up to it..... and I certainly don't think that he will be able to hold down a spot in the first team all season, which means that the need for true creative quality in central midfield is only being filled by Tugay.

Thank you Eddie, there are some dreamers on here who dont seem to go to the games, he needs to come and see what we've been witnessing.

The first six games of the season are vital for Dunny to make an impression, for me it takes about six games for premiership players to really kick in and remove any summer slackness they may have been carrying and really get into their stride, if Dunny doesnt maximise his talent in the first six games of this season then for me he'll just be a back up squad player which aint bad but it still means we need a quality midfield player.

You appear to have you changed your tune now their then JAL ?

Prepared to give Dunny a chance after a full pre season behind him as many of us have said is when we can probably make a better judgement. ;)

I don't think he'll ever be as good as before his injuries but with work I'm hopeful he can still be a very good player.

I reckon Dunny will be wowing us this season.

I'd say nine times out ten a decent player would choose a big club like Everton over a relatively modest one like Rovers.

I disagree. If we won't challenge to sign a player because Everton are interested then we really do have problems.

Anyone who went to Bolton away last year will have seen that he can still be deadly in making those 'gazza-esq' runs from midfield, they couldn't handle him. Hopefully, we'll see him do it more consistently and smash a few in the BB End too!

I think I remember him scoring against Bradford City in a Preson friendly a few years ago and have not seen him since.

Just watching SSN and noticed that Sunderland are splashing out £9 Mil for a keeper....what is going on?

which is why hughes is very wise not to throw silly money around.if rovers spent £19m on craig gordon, kieran richardson and michael chopra i would be going berserk!

everybody knows potential targets can take time to sort out, then all of a sudden, bang! within a couple of days a player can sign for a club, with sometimes the fans not even knowing they were signing the player, samba being the perfect example.

hughes hasn`t steered us wrong yet and hasn`t signed a bad player.so i think we should just hang on and see what turns up.there are 6 weeks left of the transfer window, and yet there are so many rovers fans panicking because we haven`t made a big signing!

let everybody else pick up the duckeggs, whilst hughes picks up the gems.....

i'd agree, particularly when it comes to foreign players. if we both offered the same in wages, we'd lose out more often than not. unless they think highly of MH.
