unleaded Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Espanyol have joined in the chase for Roque Santa Cruz and it has come down to these 2 clubs..............The problem is that Rovers want to push the deal through quickly but his current club have a few injury problems with a few of there strikers being out(Luca Toni,Podolski,Schlaudraff )...Ottmar Hitzfeld wants Santa Cruz as a cover and is quotes as saying"whether it would not be best" to keep Santa Cruz "to the end of of August"........................ Santa Cruz meanwhile seems unhappy with this and is pushing his club to let him leave ASAP "the club(Blackburn) wants to buy me as fast as possible. I hope that in this week the transfer happens" "if Klose fails to recover , Roque will play", vowed Hitzfeld on Tuesday. The thing to look for is that weather Santa Cruz plays in the pre-season games this week for Bayan..................watch this space..............

AlanK Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Gray also said "It's nice to go and play in a big stadium and be involved with a club with a big following that are passionate about their team. I'm looking forward to it." Thats taken from the sky website. Whats that supposed to mean?
Pinch Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 " Whats that supposed to mean? That's what Rooney said! ...and then he smacked im. On another note, I hate reading about our signings that fail to materialise. I guess the speculation is part of the fun, but there's for sure a chance that the selling club, or the players agent lets out the facts to prod other interested clubs into making bids. It just seems crap that our offer (2m) is out in the open like that...now anyone can come in with 2.5, 3...?

Capacities of Mickey's home grounds: Roker Park: 32,000 Stadium of Sh.te: 49,000 Ewood Park: 31,367 Elland Road: 40,242 Molineux: 28,525 So that's the smallest home ground in your career, then. I've just given Wolves STH at the next desk a "Mickey's not bad" sorta review. I'm hoping he has a decent season so I don't look like a complete mug!

Same sort of thing players say when they sign for us.
neekoy Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Eddie, I understand what you are trying to say but you used a bad example, my point is that a lot of people are crowing on about how much a threat West Ham wil be this year because of the players they have purchased yet I simply wanted to point out that you would have thought the same thing the year they were relegated, in which I think they had a better squad.
herbergeehh Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 They're also losing Tevez, Benayoun, Harewood and Reo-Coker (and Ferdinand?) and will need to replace them.

The big difference for my money is that yes WH did have a good team when they were relegated- it included Cole, Carrick, Defoe, Kanoute. But all of those were inexperienced young players at the time. Now they have bought high quality individuals this time round- Parker, Bellamy, Boa Morte, Ljungberg, Upson, Neill. And they have the funds to continue buying. THey ain't going down. If Curbishley gets them together they can seriously challenge for the top six or seven. Get the ol' blue and white specs off. The only thing I see knackering them is injuries, which is possible with Upson, Ljungberg and Bellamy's record.
philipl Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 This is all academic. The High Court will stuff the Hammers if there is any justice left in this world.
Kai Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 This is all academic. The High Court will stuff the Hammers if there is any justice left in this world. That's the trouble.. there isn't any justice left. At least not in the footballing world governed by the Premier League.

Can't see it, although some may be high quality at times, with the exception of Ljungberg, none have EVER strung two good seasons back to back and some haven't strung two decent games back to back. For them to be pushing for a top six finish they need them to fire at the same time, history says it won't happen. Whilst Bellamy is carving them up, Neill will get a red card, whilst Ferdinand and Gabbidon are working like flogged horses, Boa Morte, Mullins and Zamora will be losing the ball. Won't happen, bottom half finish with Upson, Ljungberg, Bellamy, Ashton, Davenport, Faubert and Ethrington to see the end of the season out on the injury table.
unleaded Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 James Beatttie sounds very happy at Everton, I say leave him there. The Beattie deal makes no sense at all. This particular transfer reminds me of Jeffers so much....................I rather we go for Zamora or Mido.........That would really get Bruce and Birmingham.Hughes chased Mido so much this time last year and I hope he steps in now at the last minute..... Beattie Happy At Everton..Great leave Him there... In other news The management of Bayern Munich asked there manager Not to select Cruz for there pre season game last night "The Mangement asked me not to play him (Santa Cruz) last night because his to transfer is imminent" said the Bayan Manager Ottmar Hitzfeld.

Agree with you about Beattie but i thoght Mido had already gone to Brum for 6m? EDIT: Just seen the Mido/Ghaly double deal is supposedly in danger because of their wage demands. Seemingly mainly because of Ghaly who allegedly wants 40k p.w. Article sys Mido is prepared to compromise but it might not be enough to save the deal.
American Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Won't happen, bottom half finish with Upson, Ljungberg, Bellamy, Ashton, Davenport, Faubert and Ethrington to see the end of the season out on the injury table. Little wager? (assuming no points deduction)
dave birch Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 According to the Beeb, the PL have told the Whammers that they'll be OK.
tcj_jones Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Little wager? (assuming no points deduction) I'll tag along on that as well. £20 West Ham won't finish in the bottom half?
Rovermatt Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 According to the Beeb, the PL have told the Whammers that they'll be OK. Of course they'll be ok. I'd say that's fairly obvious. They're West 'Aim-Bobby Moore, Sir Geoff, Jules Rimet and all that. There's not a chance that a footballing institution like that will get f**ked over in favour of some mucky rules.
OJRovers Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 According to the Beeb, the PL have told the Whammers that they'll be OK. Could the PL be any more bias in Wham's favour?? With Sir Trev pulling the strings why don't they just give them a 20 point head start on everyone else and let them play 12 men...
Rovermatt Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 City (not Spurs) have signed yet another good player. Petrov is an absolute flying machine. Apologies. I'm mixing the two up at the moment due to the exorbitant money they're hurling around.
Kai Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Spurs have signed yet another good player. Petrov is an absolute flying machine. eh? Are you sure...? BBC reports that Petrov (Martin) has signed for Man City (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/6917424.stm) unless yo uare on about another Petrov?
Rover down South Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Heard on Talksport that Man Utd or West Ham could bid £12m for Anelka, thats a joke isn't it? If he is worth 12m what is McCarthy worth. Transfer fee's are getting ridiculous. As for us we should look at Royston Drenthe (Dutch U21), Justin Hoyte (Arsenal right back surely now behind new French player & Eboue) & Shaun Wright Phillips (loan)

If he is worth 12m what is bellers and le-sulk will get on like a house on fire ! as i said the other week, i've heard west ham could still come back for benni - so lets hope anelka signs.

At least £5 million.
