philipl Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Do any of our lads drive a black Aston Martin soft top? Whoever it is is a RTA waiting to happen given the way they drove down the A59 at Samlesbury at 1pm today. One of the historic jets was being moved as an abnormal load and the way it was overtaken (and everyone else was passed) was mind boggling.

Amo Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I think anyone who banjo's a woman is the lowest of the low, skin colour is irrelevant. Circumstantial. If some chavette tried to mug me on a cold night, I wouldn't think twice about putting her down. If it's good for the goose...
thenodrog Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 JHC that's some venom. I agree with you, with the proviso that it probably applies to most high faluting footballers Good job he's black though or you'd be stymied. It wouldn't quite give you the same erection that you get from your posts if the villans were white. Why would aesf be stymied cos he is black? He's just given the example of Lee Hughes ffs! Trust you to snidily attempt to introduce skin colour into the debate Colin. What has happened to you in the past to leave you so obsessed with it?

Got to agree with him (for once), it's clear you wanted to personally attack the guy, but plucking out the old race card with absolutely no justification beggars belief. I would suggest an apology is due, mainly so you can redeem some credibility.
Blue blood Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Glad to see that he's gone to prison, although reading the news report on it there were a couple of surprising things. Firstly - this is not the first time King has been in trouble for assaulting women, in fact he's been in bother with the police a couple of times before for this, as well as having a string of other offences to his name. The guy is clearly a scumbag, and given all his previous I doubt very much whether he will ever change. Totally agree with Smithy - why should the likes of Hughes & King get second chances to earn vast sums of money, given the seriousness of the former's offence, and the persistence of the latter's. However money talks louder than morals in football. Secondly - King was apparently on £40k a week. £40k! For such an average player to be on that wage - a championship level player tbh - is absolutely shocking. If anyone ever needed evidence of over-inflated wages this is it.
Napoleon Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Glad to see that he's gone to prison, although reading the news report on it there were a couple of surprising things. King not Harewood, his lawyers will be onto you!
Blue blood Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 King not Harewood, his lawyers will be onto you! That's the one, thanks. No idea why i said the wrong one - guess one average striker is much like another.
Hughesy Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Secondly - King was apparently on £40k a week. £40k! For such an average player to be on that wage - a championship level player tbh - is absolutely shocking. If anyone ever needed evidence of over-inflated wages this is it. I keep trying to highlight wages when people say players like MGP are only on £20k - here is abit more evidence to back it up, that they are on far more!
92er Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 On the local TV news this morning it was announced that King is going to appeal against the sentence as well as the sacking by Wigan.
thenodrog Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I hope he gets a good booting in prison. I'm sure that he will...... and prob straight after he's complained about somebody grabbing his arse!
Backroom Tom Posted October 30, 2009 Backroom Posted October 30, 2009 He deserves his punishment for me but once he serves that punishment he has paid his debt and should be free to seek employment in any area he chooses, I doubt I'll be seeing him knocking on my door with a bag selling sponges and the likes anyway. In the grand scale of things his crime as nasty and cowardly as it may be hardly ranks up there in the scale of human evilness. I honestly doubt have got as much had he not been a footballer.
mellison24 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 That's the one, thanks. No idea why i said the wrong one - guess one average striker is much like another. ......But Harewood's a midfielder....
Amo Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Goose? Are you referring to King's tactic of feeling their arse first before dropping em? Nope, not King. The general taboo about men defending themselves against women.
speeeeeeedie Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Is his agent the same Tony Finnegan who played for us in the late 80's?
test Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Is his agent the same Tony Finnegan who played for us in the late 80's? Sure is the same Tony Finnegan, the same Tony Finnegan who was done for drug dealing. What a team!
jim mk2 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Marlon King is a very good signing for the Footballers Lags XI squad but can he force his way into the team? 1. Goalkeeper - Rene Higuita The Colombian stopper - think 'Scorpion' kick - spent seven months inside in 1993 after acting as a go-between between two drug barons 2. Defender - Tony Adams The ex Arsenal skipper was jailed for nine months in 1990 for drink-driving and reckless driving offences 3. Defender - Gary Charles The former Notts Forest and England international was jailed TWICE - once for drink driving and for cutting off his electronic tag to go on holiday to the Costa del Sol 4. Defender - Terry Fenwick The Spurs/QPR and England fullback was given a four-month sentence in 1991 for drink-driving 5. Defender - Jamie Lawrence The Jamaica international was jailed for robbery as a youngster and spotted by a local football team while playing for the prison side 6. Midfield - Peter Storey The former Arsenal and England midfielder was sentenced to 28 days for attempting to import pornography in 1990 7. Midfield - Joey Barton The Newcastle midfielder was jailed for six months for attacking a man in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of December 27 last year 8. Midfield - George Best The Man Utd legend, who died in 2005, was convicted of drink-driving and assaulting a policeman in 1984. He served two months of a 12-week stretch 9. Midfield - Jermaine Pennant The Liverpool winger/midfielder was sentenced to three months inside for drink driving in 2005. After his release, he became the first player to play while wearing an electronic tag 10. Striker - Duncan Ferguson Rangers striker Duncan Ferguson was jailed for three months for head-butting Raith Rovers defender John McStay in April 1994. He served 44 days in Glasgow's notorious Barlinnie prison 11. Striker - Lee Hughes The former West Brom frontman was sentenced to six years behind bars in 2004 for causing death by dangerous driving
