LeftWinger Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Carl Froch vs Robin Reid should be an entertaining encounter tonight at 10pm on Sky Sports 1. Froch has an impressive record but this should be a decent test for him. I like Froch. I'd expect him to win pretty comfortably.
T4E Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Love watching the Haymaker fighting, hes a warrior! Ditto - he's an exciting prospect in the Heavyweight division, he has world title potential, no doubt. I like Froch. I'd expect him to win pretty comfortably. I'd tend to agree. Again, a potential British World Champion. Would be interesting to see him go to the States and fight someone like Winky Wright/Jermain Taylor - not sure if he's ready to move in that company just yet.
Scotty Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Great win for Haye. I thought he was loose and slightly outclassed early on, but to pick himself up from the knockdown in the fourth and come back like he did showed class. A cracking finish as well. The British boxers march on.
Manchester Blue Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Didn't see the fight i'm afraid but i'm a big fan of the Haymaker also. Just has everything in his locker and is such an exciting fighter. Probably little too arrogant if anything but if he doesn't win a world title at Heavyweight i'll be amazed.
3recurring Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Impressed with Haye. Thought he was taking unnecessary risks with his low left-arm stance, and he very nearly paid for it. Great comeback after Mormeck had him wobbling. Always surprised by Haye's agility - i thought he moved very well. Awesome power in some of his body shots, and a couple of devastating hits to finish the frenchman. Just a couple of hours to go until Cotto vs. Mosley on Setanta. Looking forward to this - should be very interesting indeed.
T4E Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Just a couple of hours to go until Cotto vs. Mosley on Setanta. Looking forward to this - should be very interesting indeed. It did not disappoint. Pretty much went exactly as expected, very entertaining to boot. Hope Ricky knocks off Mayweather then gets a shot at Cotto. I'd love to see that.
Billy Castell Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Wondered what Hatton said, as they kept refering to it on Fighting Talk. Joe vs. Bernard won't happen as Bernard, like almost every US based boxer, will wimp out of it and yet spout off about how they're the best. Mayweather is a ___ but at least he is willing to face a European fighter.
T4E Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Wondered what Hatton said, as they kept refering to it on Fighting Talk. You gonna tell us then? Or have I missed something?
Cheshireblue Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Is anyone else going across to Vegas for the Hatton fight?
SouthAussieRover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Is anyone else going across to Vegas for the Hatton fight? Do you mean other than Hatton himself? I sincerely hope so.
T4E Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Is anyone else going across to Vegas for the Hatton fight? Gav mentioned earlier in the thread that he was hoping to talk Debs in to letting him go....
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Is anyone else going across to Vegas for the Hatton fight? Is Johnny Vegas hosting a boxing party as his that night then? I'm in!
Cheshireblue Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Is Johnny Vegas hosting a boxing party as his that night then? I'm in! I had teh misfortune of being stuck in an airport lounge with Vegas the other week. A more objectionable and unpleasent human being it has never been my misfortune to meet. If he's having a party, then go and set fire to him and his collection of St Helens memorabilia.
Presty On Tour Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 seen hatton on the news this morning, this has all the attributes to be one of the best fights ever imo.
bellamy11 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Looks like I'm going to miss this as I'm supposed to be in Lincoln next weekend. To say I'm gutted is a huge understatement.
T4E Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Is Sky Box Office not receivable in Lincoln then?
bellamy11 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Not if the place I'm staying at doesn't have Sky
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I can't wait for this fight. One out of these two great boxers on the planet will lose their undefeated title after years and years of dedication to the sport. Hatton to win on points...but it's going to be one helluva fight!!
LeftWinger Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Hatton to win on points...but it's going to be one helluva fight!! I would have thought if anyone was likely to win on points it would be PBF. I think Hatton will have to finish him sooner - and I think he will.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Should be a great fight, though unfortunately I have Mayweather jr winning it. I see him outboxing Hatton and winning on points, using his speed, defence and mobility to frustrate Hatton for 12 rounds.
T4E Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Not if the place I'm staying at doesn't have Sky Perhaps you should consider not going
LeftWinger Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Weigh In You can watch the weigh in on Friday - thinks its 10.30pm our time. Really looking forward to this now.
