Reid, Dunn and Bentley played centre midfield in the first half on Thursday. That was the problem - nobody knew when to cover, when to push forward, when to play it wide, who to pick up etc etc. Once we reverted to a conventional 4-4-2 Reid covered for Dunn's runs forward, and Bentley covered Emerton (Pedersen always does a good job of covering the left back). As a result we were much solider in defence, and better going forward.

I liked Roy, he was good for Rovers but just ran out of luck at the end. I think given another break he would have seen Rovers become a very good team.

Damnations, it looked like he was on his way out and on the cheap too... hey ho. Appiah is an interesting one, but his injury would mean we would have to really really want him. Unless of course he is pulling a fast one in order to be available for talks in the window. The fact that he was selected as Captain, and has been praised for his passion, suggests that is unlikely however.

Added to the fact that Anelka is supposedly on his way to Chelski for 10m on wages of 80kp.w. and not to Ewood as part of a swap involving Benni.

And Dan Williams must still be 64.99m short of the funding necessary to make a takeover bid.
