Pretty difinitive that. Pretty suprised we can get 2 million for a 33 year old who has looked distinctly under par this season. Strange when you consider that as little as 6 months ago Sav and Hughes were absolutely dotty about each other. 2 million will be a big chunk of money towards the key players we will need.

Big window for us. In an ideal world we will need a back up striker (what happend to Rigters?), a left winger, a central defender/rightback and a central midfielder of real quality.

Just a quick update...

Sunderland are the frontrunners for Sav and the only club who have made what could be described as an offer. I think it is around £1 million. Rovers would take about £1.5 million, possibly with a survival bonus.

Jason Roberts has a new admirer, but it's outside the Premier and would initially only be a loan. I know that hye is on other lists in the top level, but not apparently first choice or certainly not at a £3 million fee.

Interesting times. I don't see a problem in moving Sav and Roberts out, but I would think they could do with a player or two in as well. All I hear on that front is youngsters and trialists, but we will see what the next week or so brings.

I heard that Leicester are keen on Roberts to help them push up the table. Despite being 18th place, they are only 11 pts from a play off position and a decent goalscorer in the Championship could help secure them a decent second half of the season. If they were to get promoted then they would have the funds to make the transfer permanent.

That's worrying, especially if we want to push for Europe this season.

Roberts is surely too good for the Championship, and would probably be a big player for any team in the bottom half of the prem. I guess money talks though. It will be interesting to see who we replace him with, because as we know, quality comes at a price.

If Roberts wants to be guaranteed a starting place week-in, week-out then the Championship is his level. He could probably hold down a regular place at the very bottom Premiership clubs, but that's not much of an improvement. He's strong, fairly quick and works very hard...but he turns like a tank, traps the ball like a slab of concrete and isn't the most composed finisher around.

For me (and obviously Sparky), Roberts was always going to be our improved version of Kuqi; the strong impact player from the bench who will ruffle the feathers off the opposition if needs be. If Roberts thinks he's better than that then he is suffering from delusions of grandeur, he's never done anything in his career to suggest he should be starting in a top-half of the table Premiership side.

anything in this Nicko?

Chelsea boss Avram Grant has ignored the wishes of owner Roman Abramovich by targeting David Bentley in the January transfer window.

Abramovich still wants to bring troubled Barca star Ronaldinho to Stamford Bridge, but Grant wants to snap up Bentley before his stock rises as a regular England international under Fabio Capello. (Daily Star)

How about selling him to QPR? £3 Zillion should about do it.

the Derbyshire transfer WILL go through.

I hear you all ask how I know this, well I'll tell you.....

I have his name on my shirt this season, joining the likes of Shearer, Sutton, Dunn(mark 1), Duff

all sold within 12 months of me having their names put on my shirt.

Best thing you can do Ricky is set fire to all your shirts and never buy another one!
