Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Downing ? Not really, unless you want the new Jason Wilcox. Is he better than Gamst ? It's a hard one to call.
stuwilky Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Not really, unless you want the new Jason Wilcox. Id love someone who could cross like Wilcox
vintageadidas Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I too would love someone who could cross like willy wilcox! I think Hughes could really bring Downing on - only a thought though.
Jan Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 We need one player! DAMIEN DUFF A fit one, and I'd agree. Even looking as he did when he played for Newcastle, he's still one million times better than Pedersen. Hell I'd bank that bring Wilcox out of retirement and you'd still have a better player with more crossing ability that Pedersen.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Let's hope so. I wish my ManU mates would stop texting me "Rocky will be at OT in Jan" I can't see Santa Cruz at Old Trafford , he'd not fit in with their style of play, they play it to feet and they counter attack with pace. Rocky's not the fastest and he's not exceptional on the ground. Having said that if plan A fails it's nice to have a plan B ( bring on tall target man for last 15 mins if footballing fails )
Lathund Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 That Valeri guy from Levski Sofia has an awesome scoring record and can run fast - 100m in 9.98 - according to wikipedia and off the top of my head. Now that I'd seriously doubt. Not necessarily that he was clocked at that time, but that it's actually accurate. A 21 year old (Or younger) with a pb of below 10s? He'd be a world superstar. Also keep in mind that 10s is ridiculously fast. I've heard several times that Onouha is the fastest player in the Premiership, clocking in at 10.8 or whatever it was. Quite simply, no footballers run that kind of time.

How about this: Berbatov to United in exchange for Brown and Saha plus £7,000,000 million pounds thus no need for them to buy Cruz.

nicko Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 A Happy New Year in advance...and a TV alert. Only an Excuse is on BBC Scotland tonight, it's Sky Digital 971 if you have digital. Jonny Watson is very funny. I used to go to school with him and take him to Partick Thistle games as his 'minder' of a sort. He was only about 4ft6in at the time. He is all of 5ft2in now. And he is a turncoat Hun - Rangers fan to those who don't know the lingo. I'm not saying that behind his back, I told him so the last time we spoke. Such is life... Awribest.
Mozzer Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 the thing with stewart downing is because he is english he will cost like 10million hes young, can play both wings, is pacey- probably just what we need-but the price would be to much-and you could probably get a foreign player cheaper and better then him.. nicko..have you heard anything on huddlestone to blackburn...couple month ago(i know things change) he was strongly linked to us-just wondering if were still keen on him or not??? apparntly lance davids is signing for us aswell for 500k???
T4E Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 C'mon Nicko, get out of your Hogmanay coma and give us some news!
1864roverite Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 there is no news, none in and none out !! But hey, theres 31 days left yet !!
tcj_jones Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 I find it strange just how quickly the Savage situation has come about. A first team regular gets injured, doesn't walk straight back into the side, and a few weeks later is on the verge to another club. He must have thrown one hell of a hissy fit to be leaving so soon after being dropped. I also find it strange that he was employed by Sky Sports for our game against Man City, when he so obviously wants out. I won't be too disapointed if Roberts goes, although we will miss him, but I think that losing Savage could be a real blow.

Ben-2000 Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 none of the big boys have bid for Anelka...so there is still time, even with Roque scoring for fun. Anelka to Chelsea according to Daily Mail What do you reckon Nicko?
joey_big_nose Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Anelka to Chelsea according to Daily Mail What do you reckon Nicko? That article suggests Chelsea might come in for benni again as well for 8 million.
philipl Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Lots of suggestions that Chelski will spend 15 days interest (£26m) on Abramovich's wealth on Berbatov to head off Man U. If true, that might also suggest that Abramovich has seen the Glazers financial vulnerability and is squeezing.

Sandiway Blue Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 West Ham fans think bent in e/x for Ashton As bizarre as it seems i wouldn`t mind swapping Benni for Ashton and say £4m. Cockney muppets get their `superstar`player and we get rid of somebody who appears to not want to be at Rovers. We also get a player that will score as many goals and is younger than Benni and also appears to not be a troublemaker. (mods can you come up with a smiley with a tin hat on please for dodging bullets. ta! )
nicko Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Closet Bhegger alert! Ya fud! Jags man...once and forever. Anyway, on the news front. Roberts is being priced out of moves. Rovers want £4 million which is a bit high. Savage will probably go quicker, although it will take more than Sunderland's £1 million. I would imagine they will speak again tomorrow. Derby might have a go, but it depends on a few things. The Korean kid mentioned in the Mirror today is right, once more I salute an excellent source for the tip. On Anelka - I know Chelsea are interested, but I think they have other priorities. I believe the story was leaked today and recently as an attempt to scare a rival club to sell them their first choice...and that may well be Berbatov. Derby are signing the Argentinian striker Villa, Everton will take Dan Gosling from Plymouth - but you knew that if you read the Mirror. And, by the way, Burnley were absolutely atrocious today. I thought so, the Coyle Man agreed and gave them a bit of a slagging. They will have to bring in two or three quickly to give it a lift. But even after their bad run the gap to sixth is only six or seven points. I mean, if Stoke can be in the top six...anyone can.
tcj_jones Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Hammers fans worship the ground Ashton walks on. He won't be leaving any time soon.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Do you know anymore about Yoon Bitgaram? I.e. His strengths and whether he's better than Messi?
