Didn't Perez have problems with a sick daughter or his wife? Sure he wanted to move back to France as a result. Shame because he looked quality.

I seem to remember his wife didn't settle and his daughter was unwell. I thiunk it was general family problems that caused him to leave rather than a serious illness. I can still recall him cutting in from the left towards the BBE in one match and setting up a great chance. He seemed to have real promise but where is he now?

He came back to France and did quite well for Marseille. I think he made a brief move to Turkey, I don't know if he still plays now.

I think he signed for a club in a lowly french league last summer. Not sure in what capacity.

I thought Hakan Unsal was a Souness buy. Didn't he make his debut away at Bolton - when Duff and Dunn were left on the bench? Thought that was the game - when Cole got sent off, then Jansen equalised, and we looked the more likely winners with 10 men - but drew.

Roberts is being priced out of moves. Rovers want £4 million which is a bit high.

Savage will probably go quicker, although it will take more than Sunderland's £1 million. I would imagine they will speak again tomorrow. Derby might have a go, but it depends on a few things.

I think 4 million is about right for Roberts, if you look at players like Harewood and Chopra I think they went for a similar fee and I would say that Roberts is as good - if not better than those two.

As for Savage, I think 1 million is about right for him but I can't understand why he wants to leave, fair enough he wants first team football every week but if he goes to Derby he will be playing championship football next season and I can't see him playing regularly for Sunderland.

He shouldn't be blamed for the Davies signing though. It's known Uncle Jack forced him onto Hodgson against his wishes.

Thats not true. I went on holiday with Roy Hodgsons son the summer we signed Davies, he said then, with just a few weeks of training under his belt, that his dad thought Kevin Davies would get him the sack because he was that poor. He wouldnt have said that if Jack had bought him.

Also reminds me of a funny incedent whilst on that hol, when Roy phoned his son to say he had just signed Peacock from Newcastle, 6 Rovers fans all screamed "NOOOOOO!!!" in unison. Didnt go down too well!

Say we can sell the following as below;

Roberts - £3.0 million (Must b worth minimum that if you look at Chopra/ Kuqi cost)

Savage - £2.0 million

Income from Transfers = £5 million

Saving on wages (If only based on a combined of £50k p/wk) = £2.6 million a year

Total Extra cash of £7.6 million + hopefully some other remaining funds available if the right players are available.

Surely that can set us up with 1 good permanent signing?! Id love to see us test Tottenham for Huddlestone (Now that Poyet has promised changes).

Id also like to se us get someone with pace, someone in the type of mould of Ashley young, who can play Upfront, midfield, fullback etc but has bags of pace. How about a loan move for Walcott as he now seems to be behind Adebayor, Van Persie, Eduardo & Bentder at Arsenal and would surely be a good move for both Rovers & Arsenal’s development?

Or how about a loan move for Pique at United to help cover our defence? That lad has a big future ahead and again you would imagine it would be in Uniteds best interests too as he isn’t going to push out Ferdinand & Vidic anytime soon?

Or maybe even a permanent move for Wes Brown with Sparkys United contacts?

Hughesy, I like the idea of Walcott but can you really see Arsenal doing anything to help us out lol. Think there is a bit of bad blood between the two teams which would probably mean that Arsenal would send him anywhere else apart from Ewood Park.

although, it would be a very good move for us and the player.

Also gotta agree with you on Huddlestone, he's the one player I think is possibly available and good enough to improve us, Maniche also could be worth a shout.

there is as much chance of us signing tevez on loan , as getting walcott on loan.

what planet are you on hughsey?!

he's played loads for them this season...

Some suggestions are complete fantasy world stuff. If a decent player does become available on loan, it is more than likely there will be a number of clubs in for them.

With regards to Arsenal's youngsters, as Ricky said, I would be surprised if they loaned us anyone.

You're being a bit kind on Mr Kidd there, left out a couple of stomach churners.....

Ashley Ward 4 million

Lee Carsley 3.5 million

Curtis was also a Souness signing. But I think Kidd signed Steve Harkness, for all the games he played.

When you take a good look at it, a few of Kidd's signings were decent buys in the long term, but not the right kind for a relegation scrap. The way he selected his team and the way we played was baffling to say the least as well. Hodgson's signings were terrible but as a manager he was streets ahead of Kidd.

Id take a look at that Silva Cleyton from Larisa possably on trial as he looked like a cracking little player, also id like us to look at these names:

Pascal Feinunduno - Very fast striker and can play winger - St Etiene

Marek Sapara - Very much a Tugay - Rosenborg

Kim - Brazillian winger who will attack anything remember him from last year? - Nancy

Michalis Konstantou - Cypriot striker who dumped out Ireland, good in the air would be available on the cheap - olympiakos

Stefan Radu - The new chivu - Dinamo Buc

David Albelda - Brilliant holding midfielder who can pass available at 4mill - Valencia

BTW Hughesey im in favour of a Pique loan but would he get any more game time here?

Silva Cleyton..........YES Please! .......................I also would like to see him at Rovers.Hughes has a habit of liking players who have done well Against Rovers so he stands a very good chance.............The bad news is that quite a few Big clubs in Greece are after him now but I am sure Hughes has the "Pulling Power" if he really wants to.The guy does not need a work permit as well cause he has been in Greece for 10 years.................
