LeChuck Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Ooooh, yes, of course. I really should have worked that out for myself.

joey_big_nose Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Four minutes of Premier League action would suggest he has not lived up to expectations... To be fiar to him he has been behind three established strikersand a very promising player in Matt Derbyshire. Could be a slow Berner (he was suprisingly decent after plauing virtually nothing of the season).
EwoodGlory Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Former Rovers trialist Adda Djeziri linked with a move to Pompey Setanta story
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Any truth in the story about Spurs signing some Rangers RB for £6/7 million plus a player Nicko?
nicko Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Any truth in the story about Spurs signing some Rangers RB for £6/7 million plus a player Nicko? Spurs have been watching Alan Hutton, the Rangers right back, but I am a bit shocked as they have just signed Chris Gunter from Cardiff who is also a right back and very handy. Mind you, Gunter can also play left back - so it could well be right. If that happens Chimbonda must surely be on his way.
nicko Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Former Rovers trialist Adda Djeziri linked with a move to Pompey Setanta story After seeing him pre-season at Stalybridge I would suggest the expression is 'all the best'...
LeChuck Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 If that happens Chimbonda must surely be on his way. Now there's a player who could genuinely improve our first eleven and solve a problem position. He cost Tottenham around £4.5 million, but if he's deemed surplus to requirements then he should be available for less, I fail to see how he can have gone up in price since he was at Wigan. If we can flog Savage for around £2 million, as well as getting rid of his £40,000 p/w wages, then we could surely finance a deal for Chimbonda. He seems like the sort of full-back Hughes likes as well, not too dissimilar to a right-footed version of Warnock. I imagine Bentley would appreciate his marauding runs as well, as it seems to bring out the best in him when Emerton does it.
Fife Rover Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_3018798,00.html Have you heard anything about Santiago Ezquerro nicko? He sounds like one to avoid!! More in love with himself than benni's ever been.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Not really hot on the idea of Pascal...the lad has had more clubs than Tiger Woods

Must have the same genius that worked on the Boumsong deal working on that one, if they can get that plus a player for him
LeChuck Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Not really hot on the idea of Pascal...the lad has had more clubs than Tiger Woods He's 28 and he's had four clubs, two in France and two in England... I appreciate you've probably had that piece of wit ready to throw at the board for some time, but you probably should have better researched where it was going to go first.
Dave S Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Nicko According to Mark Hughes on Radio Lancs tonight Paul Gallagher is back at Rovers. Mark Hughes is to discuss a further loan with Gallagher and PNE. Is there a likelyhood of the deal being made permanent to raise cash? Also if the loan is officially over and no permanent deal arranged then Gally could feasibly play against Coventry in the cup on Saturday.

I appreciate you've probably had that piece of wit ready to throw at the board for some time, but you probably should have better researched where it was going to go first. He just seems to be on the look out all the time, plus at his age I can't see him wanting to move back up north again after experiencing the lights of London....he sounds like the perfect West Ham player to be honest

RevidgeBlue Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Wouldn't touch Chimbomba with the proverbial messy stick. Seems to be the ultimate example of the player you wouldn't want with you in the trenches when the chips are down. Wears gloves when it's about 15 degrees, handed in a transfer request as he was coming off the pitch at Wigan, and ducked out of every 50-50 challenge when we played Spurs at WHL recently.
nicko Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Must have the same genius that worked on the Boumsong deal working on that one, if they can get that plus a player for him Sorry, misunderstanding...I don't mean Chimbonda going to Rangers in exchange. I just think he will be going full stop if Hutton comes in.

Nah, not what I meant Nicko Meant if they could get that type of money....plus a player for him they must be a genius Don't matter now anyhow
Dunnfc Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hutton has turned them down, guess he wants the utd move. Last night i was speaking to a Sunderland fan and he was saying the was murmurins that Sav is a done deal apparently was in one of the posh boxes, and Quinn will back heavily in Jan but word has it from the Sland boys that they dont trust Keane with anymore money and some even want him out. (strange) Also got told that Kenwyne Jones will stay until the summer because he wants to try and keep them in the prem before deciding on his future They aint happy up there Nicko and many think Keane wasted allot of there money on absoloute trash, we could have told them that. Its a case of do they speand big this month and gamble to stay up or do they face relegation get the parachute money and rebuil for next year to come back up again.
Nelsta Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Apparentley he wants to stay at rangers...I guess Barry has had a word and told him it's to tough in the prem
Nelsta Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Apparentley Hutton's agent has come out and said he(Hutton) wants more time to think about a move to Spurs.
3recurring Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Nicko, did Man City make an approach for Santa Cruz last night?
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 It's on the BBC and Newsnow sites. Cheeky sods.
philipl Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Times and Daily Mail carried the Roque story. The Times says SGE has now moved on to trying to sign Crouch or Love. Paul Jewell apparently going to put in a combined offer for Roberts and Savage. I suspect that the huge amount of money reported to be available combined with the absence of quality players available could turn this into a torrid month for Rovers. Elsewhere, I doubt Dean Ashton will still be at West Ham by the end of January as Curbishley is refusing to say he is regarded as the first choice striker if on form.
joey_big_nose Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Nicko, did Man City make an approach for Santa Cruz last night? I wonder how much they offered? I mean it would need to have been 10m + nless Eriksson was completely daft. Anyhow he is absolutely crucial to us at the moment, good to see he is going nowhere. We might start getting bid for Bentley too... If Chelsea or Liverpool come in for him it might be quite tricky... McCarthy and Pedersen's lack of recent form probably means we are safe on that front.
