Reports in London suggest Chelsea would let Sidwell go, however, it is unclear whether he would want to leave at this stage (after just half a season).

£3 million valuation.

If we cannot get Sidwell, I am sure we will try and get someone in central midfield, even if it a short-term solution until the summer.

I don't really follow Chelsea or Reading so I've not seen Sidwell that often - what type of midfielder is he - playmaker, box-to-box, holding etc?

Very much box to box which is what we could do with in my opinion. I'm good mates with a Reading player and he thinks he's vastly overated - and actually thinks James Harper was the better of the two when at Reading, but lets face it he'd be a decent upgrade on the guys who have been performing there recently.

Sidwell would be a good buy.

Cisse, I reckon that could be true about the inquiry, because if we don't get Anelka... back up plan could be Cisse?

Just wondering... maybe our poor form has come about from Sav not being in the squad and all the transfer speculation aurrounding him? ...there was always talk of his influence in the dressing room... maybe thats something we're lacking? Sav's confidence not being there to rub off on the players?

Nicko, I know we haven't been liked with him at all, (apart from in my head ), but is there any news regarding Stephen Hunt at Reading? I know he's been linked with Sunderland, I think they have even had an offer turned down, but is there any chance that Hughes may look like that and at what price?

....if not could you have a little word for us! :)

Just an example of how much faith you can put in anything that players and managers say in regards to transfers.

Tore André Flo

Chelsea to Glasgow Rangers

07/04/2000 Tore Andre Flo commenting on being linked with a move to PSV Eindhoven: "I have no intention of leaving Chelsea. I'm playing for one of the best clubs in Europe. Why would I want to go anywhere else?"

06/05/2000 Rangers manager Dick Advocaat commenting on Flo speculation: "I don't know why Chelsea are now talking about Rangers and Flo, but going by the figures I read in today's newspapers, the answer is no. Strikers are over-rated in financial terms in the English Premiership. John Hartson, Emile Heskey, Flo - even Ruud van Nistelrooy before his move to Manchester United broke down. It is a big, big risk for Rangers to pay that kind of money - Manchester United were lucky, I think. But we're not as rich as they are, and the risk of paying that sort of sum is too great. We will still try to find players of the calibre of Michael Mols, who can be bought for between £4m and £7m."

29/07/2000 Chelsea chairman Ken Bates commenting on Flo being linked with Deportivo la Coruna: "Flo is just not for sale. There is always speculation and interest but it's a waste of time."

22/09/2000 Flo commenting on being linked with various clubs: "I have had a chat with our new manager Claudio Ranieri. He seemed positive towards me. I am not leaving and he told me that he liked my qualities on the field, which is a good thing to hear from your new manager."

23/11/2000 Tore André Flo moves from Chelsea to Glasgow Rangers for £12m.

Also that story couldn't be any more vague unless it said "Blackburn are not buying some player or other"

Just read on the BBC site that Blackburn defender Bruno Pezzoni is set to quit the club, just after breaking into the first-team, to join German side Cologne. (Mirror).

Ummm... Who????? We have a Kevin Pezzoni and a Bruno Berner from what I can see.

Don't think Kevin Pezzoni has broken into the first team as he's only an acadamy player at the mo.

Just seen a comment on the LET site, someone saying when Bentley scored against Cov he looked over to McCarthy and pointed to his badge as if to tell him he has no commitment...

Players getting fed up with Benni?

I think he was pointing at the bet365.com badge and saying 'I had a tenner on myself to be last scorer.'

Bet24 ;)

C'mon Nicko! you can't miss that dartboard!

On that note; Have you heard who is being looked at, as next year's sponsors? As the club announced after many fans complains about the Bet24 logo, the club would be looking for a more suitable sponsor for the kit, who's logo would be comfortable to wear.

Oh, and Skysports article saying Hughes is preapring a £7.5mill bid for Cisse

It's the medication... ;)

Can't see the Cisse story. He is being offered around by various agents, Marseille would let him go...but you are not paying that money for him.

I would not be surprised if he ended up going on loan somewhere on the final day - that would be a better time to take an interest. Especially if your top target cannot be landed.
