Hughesy Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I wonder if Hughes & Co will be going to see Santa Cruz while in Germany? Here's hoping we make some moves soon!!
Billy Castell Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Don't know much about Santa Cruz, so I'm not too excited about him. I'd have to check him out on FM
Cocker Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Rover? Nah, was going off topic and meaning his Avatar (I will stop that now)
-foreverrovers- Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 i really hope we dont sign santa cruz. doesnt look all that good at all to me.if we cant sign anyone better than him,i think i would prefer us to save our money for a january window spree.
roversmum Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Why are you all posting rubbish on this thread? Shouldn't you be out mowing the lawn or something?
broadsword Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 The dog was not happy that I didn't ask her permission to be put on the internet. It was the prisoner but I got the dialogue wrong. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061287/quotes "Last week, Number 14 was an old lady in a wheelchair. You're new here, and you're one of them." No way to talk about Reidy, that!

modes98 Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 has nicko gone on holiday Perhaps Hughes or Williams have 'taken care' of him for giving us loads of scoops.
Fife Rover Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Perhaps Hughes or Williams have 'taken care' of him for giving us loads of scoops. Aye, they've probably taken him across to Leavers to buy him a pie.
daren Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 hahahha, don't tease the poor chap. Saf - he's been encased in carbonite and left in the Rovers museum to warn others not to speak of transfer dealings until they're done
nicko Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Just been sniffing around a few stories and hope to have a result or two in the next couple of days. Roque Santa Cruz sounds like a hard one to crack. He has stayed in South America and is not due back for a couple of weeks. That one will drag. Hopefully Manchester City get bored and sign someone else. There will be more interest in Francis Jeffers after the Ipswich deal fell through. A rival Championship side fancies him. That may come out tomorrow. And I would like to give you a clue about a Sunday People story but after the way I was 'outed' by the super sleuths last week on Roque I will keep that story close to my chubby chest. However there may be incoming and outgoing news over the weekend. PS - the takeover bid could be settled one way or another next week.

AggyBlue Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 PS - the takeover bid could be settled one way or another next week. This needs to happen before we can make any significant signings IMO
CAPT KAYOS Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 This needs to happen before we can make any significant signings IMO It could possibly be the very reason AB we have appeared fairly inactive at the moment and Hughesy's comments in the LET
Saf Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 do you think we will be going for henri camara niko, http://www.lancashireeveningtelegraph.co.u...ll_fired_up.php
Saf Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 looks like hes not part of sparkys plans, hope this doesnt drag on to long http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...89520-19449001/
Fife Rover Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Maybe I am just having a good day, but when I got up this morning thinking about Rovers and the coming season, I found myself concluding that we actually do have a very good squad right now. Even if we dont add to it, or lose any, we have the best squad potentially that we have had since we won the championship. Plus, (and probably much more importantly) we have the best manager and coaching team this club has EVER had. Yes, even better than Kenny and Ray! The only worry for all of us is: how long can we keep them?
nicko Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I don't think Camara is too high up the list. An option, but maybe fifth or sixth choice. There is money to spend all right. But they usually wait for their men and get them at decent prices, so no need to despair. I would think the ideal world is to sign a striker for a reasonable fee who would replace Nonda as a starter/squad man. Then you wait to see what happens to McCarthy and Roberts. If they stay it's no problem, if they go then there would be a bit of a scramble. When you look at other clubs and who they are wasting their money on this is a good summer to stand back and observe the transfer market.
