Shevchenko Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 A shock swoop for Shevchenko would be absolutely bloody brilliant. What? I can dream can't I?

nicko Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I would love a strikeforce with Santa Cruz and Johan Elmander. Nicko is there any possibility Hughes would be interested by Elmander? Bolton is I think? Toulouse want £9 million, so I don't think he will be going anywhere in a hurry. I also believe Tottenham fancy him should sulky Berbatov get his wish and leave in the summer.
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 You can't blame his club though if they want him back. Somebody mentioned on this board about Samba's agent saying that Rovers are a little cheeky in constantly getting players in on trial and you'd have to believe that he's right. Guess this is what comes with having no money at all. We have a damned site more money than the clubs that they are coming from / going back to.
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Chelsea's front two is an easy choice for me: Drogba and Anelka, Superb talents but they are too alike to play well together imo.
T4E Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Superb talents but they are too alike to play well together imo. That arguement should be a complete fallacy. How on Earth two professional footballers worth a combination of £39m would not be able to play together is beyond me. It should be a non-issue. I do suspect you're right, though.

Isnt Kevin Doyle on the way there too?
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Isnt Kevin Doyle on the way there too? Now I do rate him.
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Not at all but most definitely in some respects.
Sandiway Blue Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Do you think shearer will take over the barcodes Nicko?
tchocky Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Exactly Ffan. Fletcher would easily be one of ours and your best players. I'd imagine that we'd have to pay through the roof for anybody who has came through the ranks at OT however. Yer. Saw him for Scotland a while ago and he was the best player on the pitch. Definitely would be a great addition for us. He's no John Curtis mk. II, that's for sure, would be one of the first names on the team sheet for every game. Maybe we could get Kalou or Sheva or Pizarro on loan? Shevchenko in a Rovers shirt? Don't hold your breath!
philipl Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 On the basis that many Rovers posters think Benni is hopeless, Shev should be sent up to Brockhall with his own lunch box, a stannah chairlift and a money back guarrantee.
nicko Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Do you think shearer will take over the barcodes Nicko? Sky Sports News are quoting an unnamed source and backing it up by talking to half-cut fans. Trash TV. I won't believe it until they speak to a dog barking in the street. Anyway I've got an obscure Portuguese game to watch...
T4E Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Anyway I've got an obscure Portuguese game to watch... I'm more than happy to indugle you. Why are you watching an obscure Portuguese game?
nicko Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I'm more than happy to indugle you. Why are you watching an obscure Portuguese game? I'll tell you if he signs...not for you, I should add.
Mozzer Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 darren fletcher isnt a terrible player.. hes a decent player-who alex ferguson rates highly.. if blackburn put a bid in for him i would be really happy-hes like bentley and warnock-playing for big clubs but not playing alot of games.. it happened with phil neville-obviously not good enough for man utd-but at everton one of their main players.. you dont spend so long at a club like man utd and be a bad player...
T4E Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I'll tell you if he signs...not for you, I should add. You despicable tease
nicko Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 You despicable tease Judging by the way he's playing it won't be happening anyway.
LDRover Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Kevin Doyle? Who plucked that one out? Now he would be a quality signing, certainly knows where the net is. A bit like Benni but with the work ethic and an understanding of the offside rule.
T4E Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 So who is he playing for, Pacos Ferreira or Maritimo?
Sandiway Blue Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 So who is he playing for, Pacos Ferreira or Maritimo? Maritimo.
Jordan Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 You can't blame his club though if they want him back. Somebody mentioned on this board about Samba's agent saying that Rovers are a little cheeky in constantly getting players in on trial and you'd have to believe that he's right. Guess this is what comes with having no money at all. As mentioned earlier Hughes was interviewed on sky sports and couln't have seemed less happy if he'd tried. No players on the horizon at all and either he's a very good liar or he's telling the truth. When watching the interview just before he mentioned that there was no transfer kitty he looked directly at the camera. For the rest of the interview he was looking down which seemed a bit odd to me. Maybe it was a nervous thing as he knew he was lying.
bubblerrovers Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 If you look at someone's eyes if they are lying they tend to look up, saw it on 24 or CSI or something
Fife Rover Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Khizanishvili should never be made to play right back ever again after being ripped to pieces by Petrov against City. I would much rather a youngster play because, while they might not be ready to make the step up, at least right back would be their specialized position and they would know what they were doing. Exactly! Zurab is a good CB but that requires entirely different set of skills than playing FB. Zurab simply does not have the FB skills and never has had. he has found himself forced into playing RB a number of times at Rangers and was never successfull.
