T4E Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Exactly! Zurab is a good CB but that requires entirely different set of skills than playing FB. Zurab simply does not have the FB skills and never has had. he has found himself forced into playing RB a number of times at Rangers and was never successfull. It was hugely unsuccessful. It was also wrongly stuck with, which led to Zurab being seen by most fans as primarily a (rubbish) right back. God knows what he shows in training that has made two different sets of coaches believe he can play there.

Fife Rover Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 What if we sort out an arranged marriage to a UK citizen? Anyone drunk enough to agree? Jan?
Silencio Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Kevin Doyle? Who plucked that one out? Now he would be a quality signing, certainly knows where the net is. A bit like Benni but with the work ethic and an understanding of the offside rule. But nowhere near as good...
Mozzer Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 nicko-have you heard anything in da vita(our young italian striker currently in the reserves) could be going to wrexham on loan???
Wolves_Rover Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Kevin Doyle? Is this a contest to name championship level strikers plying their trade in the premier league?
S15 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 When watching the interview just before he mentioned that there was no transfer kitty he looked directly at the camera. For the rest of the interview he was looking down which seemed a bit odd to me. Maybe it was a nervous thing as he knew he was lying. Those are some thin straws your clutching there Sherlock.
EwoodGlory Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Any truth that we are in for Roberto Ayala, currently at Real Zaragoza?
modes98 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 If you look at someone's eyes if they are lying they tend to look up, saw it on 24 or CSI or something If you look up and left you are trying to remember something and if you look up and right you are lying(trying to make something up). However after telling a lie with eye contact you then try to avoid eye contact. Equally he could be really depressed or just really like the table.
nicko Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Betfair is making fascinating viewing... Redknapp has gone from 1.22 to 5s overnight. I think he has bottled it. Checking. I heard he was 60-40 on Thursday, then Portsmouth made the approach - which must have been his idea - and suddenly last night something has gone wrong. No more clues just yet, but Betfair tends to be revealing on these matters. Don't jump to Mark Hughes conclusions...please!
Ricky Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Betfair always seems to give a good indication. Interesting, I know Redknapp is taking training today. Lol, they are just saying about Betfair on Skysports news lol.

Ricky Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Now I'm worried. Been confirmed that Redknapp aint taking it
John Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 This is not over yet by the way. Harry won't move. And Hughes has had enough of no money.
Guest Kamy100 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Redknapp has turned down the job. Newcastle will now move onto their second choice Mark Hughes.
Hannah Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 David Thompson has just said on Soccer Am that he fancies the job!
nicko Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 It's an impossible job while Alan Shearer is around... Shambles.
modes98 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 It's an impossible job while Alan Shearer is around... Shambles. Is that why Harry has turned it down? or has he finally smelt the coffee and realised that Newcastle would only give him 8 months to win the champions league then sack him.
Ricky Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I'm pretty much certain they'll make an approach for Hughes now, just depends if he wants to join the shambles that is Newcastle.
Roost Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Nicko, Looking back through your earlier posts............ how worried should we be now that Redcap has turned down Newc?
tony gale's mic Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 i really hope he takes into account he's the second choice.
Guest Kamy100 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I am certain that an approach will be made by Monday and that Hughes will want to join them. He has built something special here but I feel that the financial resources of Newcastle will tempt him as he will believe that he can take them to the next level.
SuperStella Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 he should look at other managers that have gone there with good reputations then suddenly diminish once theyve been there, and been sacked. he should also look at the fact he was 2nd choice = under pressure straight away as he 1st needs to prove he was right choice to board , then to fans, and players.
thenodrog Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Is that why Harry has turned it down? or has he finally smelt the coffee and realised that Newcastle would only give him 8 months to win the champions league then sack him. I always had a sneaky suspicion that Arry would never contemplate taking on the mags but simply using the situation to get a huge pay rise out of Guydamak.
EwoodGlory Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Shearer has had to much 'clout' around the place for years, a lot of the fans round here have realised this and know it's a problem, though the media only ever report on groups of them standing outside SJP chanting for him and such. Can't blame Harry for not taking it up as their will always be talk of Shearer taking over if they have 2 or 3 bad results in a row. Take note Sparky! I think Shearer will be an excellent manager and I would have him here when Sparky leaves but he would have to be brave to take over Newcastle because if it doesn't work out then some of his 'Legend' status will be lost with some people up here, they are quite fickle. Problem is there will possibly never be a better time for Sharer to take over, with a Billionaire in charge to fund him and the club in a bit of turmoil, he could look like a savior.
