Eddie Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 My big problem with the funding we aren't giving Hughes is that when he goes, who is going to want to come here? Why on earth would you want to manage us when we're giving our manager roughly £2 million a year, when you could go to one of the promoted sides and have at least £8-9 million. I simply don't understand why we can have no money. How can revenue go up and yet our transfer budget go down?

thenodrog Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Nicko, are Fulham interested in the Valencia midfielder, David Albelda? can you tell me pwetty please, won't tell anyone i swear. Is it boumsong/hypia/haangeland? ok but in your opinion will he be a decent buy? FFan..... Buggger off for a bit will ya? I like you really, but at the moment you are as popular as a turd in a swimming pool! You're like the bloke whose phone rings with that frog thingy as relatives gather around the hospital bedside as some close relative exhales his final breath.
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 For once I agree with your sentiment if not your choice of words 'drog. FFAN, we've other things to talk about right now.
thenodrog Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I hope to god I'm wrong but the main fear here is that the board at Ewood are about to pay a high price for their tight money policy. Not as high a price as Leeds and Coventry. Keep some perspective SG.
tony gale's mic Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 ffs, don't say the 'c' word...its too soon.
USABlue Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 No manager has a chance with Shearer lurking and 60,000-plus Geordie worshippers waiting for the Messiah to return. Now that is so true Nicko. I think the bloke is a bit of a ###### stirrer up there. I think he causes unrest, and as I said when folks were touting him as the England boss. I think he will flop big time as a manager
Lurid Coat Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 FFan..... Buggger off for a bit will ya? I like you really, but at the moment you are as popular as a turd in a swimming pool! You're like the bloke whose phone rings with that frog thingy as relatives gather around the hospital bedside as some close relative exhales his final breath. Not only that, but he also enjoys trying to come off as an "in the know" kind of person by posting information Nicko has posted in this thread, on a West Ham forum (KUMB.com), without giving Nicko credit for it.
thenodrog Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 GET THIS CLUB SOLD WILLIAMS AND GIVE THE MANAGER THE BACKING HE DESERVES.......GETTING SICK OF THIS NOW! err it's not Williams decision SG194. In fact it's sweet FA to do with him. He is merely an employee of BRFC. Do you never read anything on this mboard? Your acting like Corporal Jones off Dad's Army.......... Dont Panic Captain Mainwareing
philipl Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Ferguson calls Newcastle a strange club and slags them off for firing Allardyce Newcastle fans are mounting concerted effort to get either Morinho or Shearer. As Shearer is in Barbados, Mourinho hovering over Milan and Ashley is in Hong Kong, looks like this could get prtracted. Still it will put a few hundred on the press allocation at the Breezeblok tomorrow assuming Sparky is there.
USABlue Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Hughes happy at Ewood 'on a shoestring budget' GET THIS CLUB SOLD WILLIAMS AND GIVE THE MANAGER THE BACKING HE DESERVES.......GETTING SICK OF THIS NOW! Really SG, we need to push the boat out sale or no sale we need to give him some decent money. Time for a no guts no glory attitude. I wonder how it affects players knowing we can't just go out and buy someone to replace them.
thenodrog Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Not only that, but he also enjoys trying to come off as an "in the know" kind of person by posting information Nicko has posted in this thread, on a West Ham forum (KUMB.com), without giving Nicko credit for it. Aha! FFan you have been rumbled! Alan.... no more Fulham info please unless you quite like having the p1ss taken.
den Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Ashley is in a very difficult position now. The very shadow of Shearer will prevent the club from moving forward. It was probably the noises coming from Shearers camp last night, that made harry's mind up. It's a thankless task for any manager up there until all this Shearer rubbish is sorted. Whether Ashley wants Shearer or not, his presence is working against his old club. What does Ashley do? He needs to appoint Shearer now, or say why he'll never be manager. Those fans are living in the past. They talk of Keegan being the second coming. Why? Keegan was a failure at Man City, why do they think he'll be the one to take them forward? They have to shake off the ghosts of St James Park before anyone can move that Dinosaur forward.

I wonder how it affects players knowing we can't just go out and buy someone to replace them. I agree with you there. Why would you want to stay here if you were someone like David Bentley? You know that if you move to a club like Villa, City or even West Ham then the finances they have can at least give you the hope of improving, we on the other hand are facing the prospect of Mokoena being a regular feature.
USABlue Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 FFan..... Buggger off for a bit will ya? I like you really, but at the moment you are as popular as a turd in a swimming pool! You keep coming ffan.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Theno chap, with all due respect if you are going to pedantically take my posts apart then please do ###### off...I am not in the mood this fine morning! The whole club needs to move forward, the Walker years are consigned to history now.I get the feeling Hughes wants to stay but finances are finding him once again frustrated. It is so frustrating for all concerned.
philipl Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 If anyone enjoys black humour, they should look at the Newcastle fans' sites. They were certain they had Redknapp and were already moaning like crazy about it! Now its all Shearer, Shearer and only the tiniest of (entirely negative) comments about Hughes. They seriously believe they could get Mourinho.
thenodrog Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Why you being an ass Gordon? You keep coming ffan. Why do you think USA? Maybe cos being tetchy and prone to blindly lashing out at the nearest target is a sure sign of heightened anxiety.

Only then, when he fails miserably, will the ghost of Shearer be excorsised.
USABlue Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Hughes wants to stay but finances are finding him once again frustrated. I can imagine playing to a half empty Stadium week in week out is not helping either
USABlue Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Why do you think USA? Maybe cos being tetchy and prone to blindly lashing out at the nearest target is a sure sign of heightened anxiety. OK TND, you want a few of my Valium?
broadsword Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I don't think Hughes will go ... yet. Newcastle is a nightmare job. As soon as a decent job offer comes in, it will prove very hard for him to stay. I can't see him doing much more than taking us to three cup semi's and a 6th place. He'll leave then we'll get some prat in who'll cock it all up and it will be bye-bye Premiership for another 30 years.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Really SG, we need to push the boat out sale or no sale we need to give him some decent money. Time for a no guts no glory attitude. I wonder how it affects players knowing we can't just go out and buy someone to replace them. I agree USAblue but when everybody including Sparky's parrot is telling us all we need to sell to buy/club needs to be sold then it makes you wonder what the only viable answer to the money problem is.
1864roverite Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Its like waiting for the axe to fall ! I think this weekend sees the end of Hughes reign at Ewood. I hope I am wrong in those thoughts. A negative result at Bolton may just see the suicide rate in East Lancs raise a little by Monday morning
philipl Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Newcastle going for Shearer Now who thinks the Daily Mail gets anything right?
