DanLad Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 What position does this potential arrival play in? Potential arrival meaning a bid has been made, or we considering one? Sorry, never mind!

nicko Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Midfield. Allegedly. The clubs have been talking, it will be down to valuation and if the sellers get the player they want to replace him. I think the name has been mentioned, I've just got a new slant on it.

they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Just a Sunday People plug... There will be a bit of news about a potential arrival, tied in with the selling club trying to raise money. The target is not my idea of good news. You've said before Newcastle are trying to make funds... (when talking about the possible sale of Martins). And to add to what you've said about the tightness of the Championship; Hull just out-played West Brom. possession 61-39 to Hull... West Brom won 3-1. Nothing in either team... reckon anybody can still win that league, down to about 12th!
nicko Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 It depends who buys what in the Championship promotion race. Keep an eye on that in the next couple of weeks. The team below you is going to give it a go...
Mozzer Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 tom huddlestone??? darren fletcher??? jason koumas??? with nicko saying the target isnt his idea of good news, sounds like jason koumas..you said we could get better.. its good to see hughes now saying he is looking at bringing players in, couple weeks ago he was happy with his squad..
EwoodGlory Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Radio Newcastle seem to think that its going to be Venables and Shearer for the Toon.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Hughes has just come out saying we arn't after Koumas... but I suppose most managers say things like that. From the Mirror; Bulgarian Valeri Domovchiyski is ready to walk out on Blackburn Rovers - after being asked to extend his trial. The highly-rated Levski Sofia striker thought he had come in to sign a £1.5m deal but boss Mark Hughes told him he wants a further look at him next week before deciding whether to buy. Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven are keen to land the speedy forward and could step in with an offer this week. quote from Hughes; "We've expressed an interest in a number of players but how realistic it will be, only time will tell." Any clues on who they may be Mr.Nixon?

The team below you is going to give it a go... Ah, so who are Burnley interested in signing? other than Whelan? any news on that loan signing to Hull? I can see Phil Brown stepping up a search for a new centreback, as Wayne Brown was found out in the first half tonight... also a new keeper. Told you Derby or Celtic wouldn't be interested in him... awful performance tonight. But just seen Sheff Utd are apparently the team to have bid for Dean Brill from Luton... and are going to loan him back to them
doctorryan Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Just saw Everton and Man City today...the top four is within reach of anyone who wants it. My thoughts exactly. And even though Liverpool still has a match in hand, their form is becoming horrific and we are yet to play them at Anfield. If we can get the points tomorrow we'll be just 3 out with both Villa and Everton on the fixture list in the next month. Now, board & trustees, about this Diarra fellow..............
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 If Ashley was that smart he wouldn't have arranged to be out of the country on business on the weekend his club are looking for a manager. If he had been here to hold " Arry's" hand " Arry" may have signed ! Multi- millionaire ! The guy's a dip stick of the first order. Having said that going there is a win - win situation, you go there and your team plays ######, you get 4 years wages for 6 months work, can I put my name down please ?
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Apparently Bolton have bid for 3 players... who are they? (well, we know ones Elmander)
Fife Rover Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Why do you think USA? Maybe cos being tetchy and prone to blindly lashing out at the nearest target is a sure sign of heightened anxiety. Ah so that's it is it? I guess we are all having a really ***t day. Shame you weren't as understanding about my little outburst this morning Theno (and others), but you expect understanding from others for your pernickety ways.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 "Not my idea of good news"? Joey Bartons out of the clink now isn't he?
USABlue Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 We're now at page 400. Any chance of closing this thread, starting a new one with a brief summary of anything of note from this one? Why? Still no news, drowning in information, startved for knowledge. You go the dingles game Nicko?
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Nicko, My German contact tells me Sven's rep Hans Bakke in Munich after Podolski. Edit: I see it's all over the 'net. Not a scoop them!
Plastic Head Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Midfield. Allegedly. The clubs have been talking, it will be down to valuation and if the sellers get the player they want to replace him. I think the name has been mentioned, I've just got a new slant on it. Alan..... Do you think the media and people at other Prem clubs have noticed that we are absolutely pants at the moment? Seems to me our league position and quite an easy run of games have covered up some of our recent dire performances.
jamiebrfc Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Been out tonight and a very close friend of a certain local lad who plays for rovers, tells me Hughes is talking to Newcastle, and all the squad know it. Now this lad is defo mates with the rovers player, but I am not trying to cause panic!
S15 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I'll be totally honest as someone who isn't in a complete panic (Iw, a complete sane state of mind). I think your mate is completely lieing, to the point where he isn't acually mis informed, but he has/is making up stories and told them to you. Just my opinion.
S15 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 To my suprise Hughes isn't actually mentioned in the Sunday rags... Most Red Tops dreaming up either Shearer or Keegan, with one or two others suggesting they may now look abroad. Personally, if Hughes would leave if asked, it is clear his enthusiasm for his job is not what it was, as I believe 12 months ago he would have turned it down. If this is the case it may be best if he is asked, as like I have previously said, in 2 years or so there wont be a Big Sam out of employment. Like it or not, he's the best we could ever get.
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 If you're right Jamie, it doesn't auger well for the team's focus and motivation today.
philipl Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Hughes did a comprehensive job of ruling himself out on Friday- many Rovers' supporters have underestimated the weight of Sparky's comments. If he were leaving the door open he would not have gone on to criticise what had happened to Allardyce and back Allardyce to come back. It is over to Sparky to make sure the players fully understand that today and I am sure he is made of the stuff that will.
