I am not sure about this one at all.

The stories say he will sign once the Chelsea players come back from the African Nations Cup...but that won't be until February and, last time I checked that is after the window shuts! Seems strange.

The only way this could be happening is if Chelsea are using him as a sweetener to get Kenwyne Jones.

Why would Sidwell go there anyway?

He was a very highly rated player and if he could find his form he would do a very good job for us.

Jones to Chelsea then? I must say I have been impressed with him - gave Campbell a torrid time in the first half yesterday.

Rangers would let him out. He is Charlton's player but in Glasgow for a year's loan which they would be happy to rip up.

I'd normally take that as a bad thing - but Tugay barely got a game there because of Ferguson IIRC.

There's an interesting story with him...as some light diversion.

Jones came over here on trial and went to West Ham and Rangers as a centre half. Both clubs liked him, but not enough to sign him.

Southampton took a chance and the rest is history.

It just shows there can be gems found in strange places.

He's hardly been given a game. 3 in total for Rangers. I think Rangers don't really need a DM, they prefer to attack Greenock under 14s, etc in the SPL.

That's good to hear but equally if he was anything special then Hughesy would have made his mind up very quickly. £1.5m is alot for him to spend on an unknown bulgarian striker though, so if you can get a further look then why not. :wacko:

Shearer is on a beach in Barbados, and having had a conversation with his agrent on friday relayed to me he is not about to get off his beach and head back to Newcastle.

It is the worst job in the Premiership. Idiotic fans with expectations way above the teams ability to deliver and a nightmare owner with no experience, no patience and very little appetite to invest in the team. He bought the club to turn it for a fast buck, but if the rumours about Liverpool are true, then he might have to hang onto it for a bit longer than he had hoped. It couldn't happen to a nicer chap.

Hughes would be mad to go up there. It needs a new team, at least 3-5 years to turn it around and that assumes you get the support you need from Ashley. If he is serious about getting the Old Trafford job then he would be well advised to stay put, keep doing good things with Rovers and then wait until Fergie goes. It can only be this season or next when the old sweaty @#/? finally goes and Hughes cannot possibly hope to enhance his reputation in that time at a club that has proved a graveyard for each of its last 10 managers.

is his agent still tony stevens?

On another note - i read a few stories about diarra demanding 90k a week to move to newcastle!
