sjsbrfc Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Alan Oliver is a prick. Correct. He goes on SSN and says one thing and then writes another. I personally thing he doesn't have a clue and is edging his bets. btw Keegan now clear favourite on ALL online betting sites.
philipl Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 So we have Alan Oliver talking to Sparky's postman's dog, Williams succinctly saying no approach and not available and Keegan making a statement of Hughes-esque vagueness. Meanwhilst the Toon Army is having a collective high over Keegan and Shearer or Shearer without Keegan or Shearer with somebody else whilst praying for Mourinho. And that is all the action for today. The dangerous time is going to be the first 24 hours after Mike Ashley gets back from Hong Kong tomorrow first thing. If he doesn't move for Hughes all that "Sparky was really my man but I let that nasty Paul Kemsley talk me into embarassing myself with 'Arry" stuff will be even more open to ridicule.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I think he is just loving his 5 mins of fame He must have had more airtime than most SSN presenters by now....especailly with their manager rotation rates!
tony gale's mic Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 i think its fair to say we should take into account that things are looking a bit better than they were 12 hours ago.
revolutionrock! Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I hope Sidwell doesnt go Sunderland. We really should get him in on loan.

Dangerous 24 Hours ahead, then after that i think ,if he hasnt gone, Keegan may get the Job.
Dunnfc Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Anyone else got that horrible feeling in there gut?
revolutionrock! Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Anyone else got that horrible feeling in there gut? No, i think hell stay.
1864roverite Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Like ffan stated, Alan Oliver is a complete and utter penile wart. He talks utter garbage then writes something different. I think that as it stands we have a good chance of keeping Hughes and go along with Phil saying that the next 24/48 hrs will determine who is going to get the hotseat at barcode united. Unfortunately, due to some seriously absent comments on The Rovers website, I genuinely fear that come Saturday, we may have a series of empty places in the Rovers seats in the bench area. However, 1 scenario has not been mentioned. Do NUFC see Shearer as future manager and do they want him grooming to take over 3/4 years down the line ? I just cannot see Hughes being parted from his current staff and wonder if he could be cajoled into working alongside Shearer ? I think Hughes is his own man and would want the job with his own staff WITHOUT the spectre of Shearer hanging over him.
Cocker Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Anyone else got that horrible feeling in there gut? That might be a dodgy kebab
T4E Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Anyone else got that horrible feeling in there gut? No. I don't care if he goes. It's just another football personality using us as a stepping stone. This is it for us, might as well get used to it.
Dunnfc Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Im just so nervous lads. Hoping this week will pass really quickly and hope the MESSIAH STAYS! Suppose we just have to stay positive. If he stays it will be the best signing of the window.
tony gale's mic Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 i had a really bad feeling before but now the signs seem to be pointing to keegan. also, its almost certainly going to fall flat on its arse if they appoint him and give us even more of a reason to laugh at this shambles of a club. still, these things can change at the drop of a hat. if someone who ashley respects gives him good advice for a change and tells him to go for sparky then he could well be on his way.
Dunnfc Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 That might be a dodgy kebab Could be a dodgy chillie but ive never trusted my mums cooking lol. Women + Kitchen = 1+1 = 2
ffan Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I hope he stays too, for the sake of Blackburn and himself. Out of all the three teams that got promoted from Fulham, Blackburn and Bolton, Rovers have been the best and most consistent team and I have huge respect for Rovers for that and because Rovers have done so well I don't want to see one of the top 5 managers in the Premiership leave for a job which will inevitably se him sacked with three years. For Hughes sake I hope he doesn't go because it would be a big blot on his cv if he fails.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Dunnfc, are you the same bloke that's been posting "HUGHES WILL STAY" on both boards for the last few days....then when we get some good signs from the bookies you rekon he's off!
philipl Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Alan Hansen on the BBC web site has come out strongly for his mate Al taking over. He also suggests that "Al" is one of very few people who would take it if offered but it is down to Al to decide if he wants it now! I doubt Hansen failed to pre-clear that with "Al" or the BBC for that matter. I am certain of the veracity of Cheshireblue's input on the subject. But then, even holidays on the beach in Barbados come to an end eventually. "Al" perhaps thinks he might get appointed by popular acclamation in which case Ashley will have played a stonkingly bad hand by creating a Geordie monster which is even bigger than it was already.

O I, course i am, im ###### myself if we lose him. Hes staying well hopefully. haha its good that we can laugh about it.

Fife Rover Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I hope he stays too, for the sake of Blackburn and himself. We have each had a spell as top dog, and we have each flirted with relegation at different times. Not a lot to choose between us overall.
Martin Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I just want this sorted - which is kinda frustrating considering Hughes could have ended all this madness with a simple sentence. We won't rest easy for the next few days, but regardless of what happends we are in a strong position. JW and the board will have a plan in place should Hughes move on. There has been so much talk and very little concrete evidence. Newcastle don't know who they want and nobody really knows what Hughes is thinking so prepare for a couple of edgey days. I'd love it if they appointed Keagan, love it.
USRoverME Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Ashley will have played a stonkingly bad hand Loved the word stonklingly even if I have no idea what it means.
