bobsterbrfc Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 http://fansonline.net/middlesbrough/mb/view.php?id=66253 Nicko.......?????????
S15 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 No. I don't care if he goes. It's just another football personality using us as a stepping stone. This is it for us, might as well get used to it. From now on in... ''What he said!''
S15 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 http://fansonline.net/middlesbrough/mb/view.php?id=66253 Nicko.......????????? Oh it must be true if he has connections.
Beta Ray Bill Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Unless there is something afoot tomorrow, or the club doesn't use the Boardroom for important decision making, nothing will be happening until Friday. I knjow this, as I am in the boardroom at Ewood Wed/Thurs. If I hear or see anything, I'll let you know.
S15 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 So if Mr Ashley rings on Wednesday it'll be a ''No sorry we can't decide until Friday as we don't use the boardroom today or tomorrow.''
EwoodGlory Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Tell him to buy us a new boardroom if he wants to speed the process up.
Beta Ray Bill Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 So if Mr Ashley rings on Wednesday it'll be a ''No sorry we can't decide until Friday as we don't use the boardroom today or tomorrow.'' I guess they could always meet in BluesBar instead.
S15 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I guess they could always meet in BluesBar instead. Doubt it!! A drink is more than our transfer budget!
Roar of the Rover Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Hughes hasn't convinced me enough over the past few days that he wants to stay with us. Lets just hope He's not Mike Ashleys next choice.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Blackburn Rovers is bigger than one man. We've had better in the past and we'll have better in the future. Let's hope he does stay but if he decides to go, Blackburn will move on!
nicko Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 http://fansonline.net/middlesbrough/mb/view.php?id=66253 Nicko.......????????? I can't be doing with all of this friend-of-mine's mate-who-does-his-dog's-hair routine. It's now over to Mike Ashley to make the next move. Until he sorts out the Shearer situation the job is impossible for any other manager. It makes me howl that the Geordies want Shearer...it's like Spurs fans screaming for Hoddle. And look what happened there. IF - and it's a big IF - your manager does go then that's just the way it goes. I can think of several who could keep the club in the top half on a limited budget...and maybe even win something.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Yeah I agree Nicko. We need Shearer! Any news on who the favourite is for the Scotland job out of the chosen candidates?
nicko Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Yeah I agree Nicko. We need Shearer! Any news on who the favourite is for the Scotland job out of the chosen candidates? There are five being interviewed. If it is decided on personality and record there can only be one winner. But I'm a wee bit biased.
EwoodGlory Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Newcastle is just one big joke, sack the manager during the transfer window then pop off to Hong Kong for the best part of the week. It needs to be sorted ASAP, we have just over 2 weeks to get players in to help the push for a European place, surely they will be put off till its decided one way or the other so they know what manager they are playing for.
LeftWinger Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 There are five being interviewed. If it is decided on personality and record there can only be one winner. But I'm a wee bit biased. Not your mate Coyle? That would be class!
John Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Extract from tomorrow's edition of The Times. Seems like speculative reporting. Blackburn and Williams are eager to retain the services of a man who has lifted them into the upper half of the Barclays Premier League, they are unlikely to stand in his way if and when Newcastle make their move. For his part, Hughes is said to be keen to embrace a new challenge and is privately intrigued by the prospect of working on Tyneside. He is not, however, set on leaving.
nicko Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Not your mate Coyle? That would be class! The Coyle Man is not one of the five. Remember, he has his first mission to complete.

I have read the article, it is rambling and a little confused. So I think it sums up the state of play at Newcastle United perfectly.
John Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Nicko, surely this speculation won't be helping us in our efforts for new signings? I know things were quiet anyway (before Sam was sacked).....
philipl Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I have read the article, it is rambling and a little confused. So I think it sums up the state of play at Newcastle United perfectly. It would be so funny if we weren't the butt of the joke. Incidentally, as of tomorrow there are only ten working days to the end of the transfer window. If an approach comes, Rovers can fully legally and legitimately run that clock down so Newcastle would not get their man within the window. In what other industries would a CEO move from one business to a competitor in the blink of an eye? Chelsea have set the pattern with Mourinho's gardening leave in terms of bringing normal commercial practise into football management contracts. If Rovers have next to no transfer kitty it doesn't matter to us but I guess it puts the club in a very strong position to get compensation for far more than just the balances on service contracts. Anyway, let's hope it doesn't come to that.
