rebelmswar Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 You must be stark staring bonkers. Those two stiffed BRFC big time. I can count the amount of times Barry impressed me on my penis.

bob fleming Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I can count the amount of times Barry impressed me on my penis. I'm sure there's not much interest and I'm not particularly bothered but if I don't ask someone else will. How many was it? How many times did Barry impress you on your penis?
Cocker Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 it's like Spurs fans screaming for Hoddle. And look what happened there Yeah, he went and got them to a cup final - the cheeky git (they were beaten by the better team though )
Beta Ray Bill Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Huh?? What the hell are they trying to say exactly. Called covering all bases. If he leaves, they can say we told you so. Same if he stays. Let's face it, the press have as much idea as to what is actually happening as Newcastle themselves - clueless.
Oakland Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Sunderland battle for Chelsea's Sidwell "Sunderland are set to beat off Blackburn Rovers for his signature because Mark Hughes wanted to make the signing permanent while the player preferred a loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer." WTF? nicko?
Jolly Giraffe Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 The longer Hughes refuses to commit one way or another the less chance we have of signing anyone in the transfer window. How can we realistically expect anyone to come when the manager that is signing them may be off at the drop of a hat? Rovers board need to show some balls and tell Hughes it's time to make a decision. All this will he, won't he speculation is not helping anyone. I have the utmost respect for the job Hughes has done and I will be sorry to see him go (if that is what he decides) but there is no way he should be allowed to compromise the club and by staying silent that is exactly what he is doing. There comes a point when enough is enough.

We need a good center guy - hello - here he is on his way to Sunderland Come on Rovers, pull your finger out and sign him

Lurid Coat Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 "Sunderland lead the race to sign Blackburn's £2m-rated striker Jason Roberts. (The Mirror)" He's got to be worth more than a puny £2m, for crying out loud! Also, I really hope he'll stay. He's an excellent impact player in my book, and I'd rather he gets the chance to prove himself the next couple of games instead of Benni.
thenodrog Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Take no notice. The important thing is that he is rated at £4 minimum..... by us. After that teams can begin bidding. Hughes said after the Bolton match that he doesn't want Roberts to leave and that to replace him would take a lot of money. He'll be going nowhere for 2m.

(The Mirror)" He's got to be worth more than a puny £2m, for crying out loud! I totally Agree! Hasn't in been said that the the price demanded by Rovers was £4m? He absolutely didn't make his price worse with the performance against bolton!

We need a good center guy - hello - here he is on his way to Sunderland Come on Rovers, pull your finger out and sign him Is Sidwell actually any good though? He has hardly looked convincing in his rare appearances for Chelsea and he won't come cheap.
Cocker Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Is Sidwell actually any good though? He has hardly looked convincing in his rare appearances for Chelsea and he won't come cheap. Yes he is. He just dosent get the starts down there to show what he can do
thenodrog Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Looks like we are going for Sidwell with Koumas / Faye lined up (in that order I hope) if we don't get him.
John Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I am sorry but what can Hughes do until NUFC actually offer him something. He can’t very well say “I am definitely staying whether Newcastle offer me or not” cos if they offer him and he goes then he is a liar, and he can hardly say “I will leave if Newcastle offer me” cos they might not offer him and then he will have egg on his face. All he can do is get on with things for now...
alexanders Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Looks like we are going for Sidwell with Koumas / Faye lined up (in that order I hope) if we don't get him. That would be awesome! 100% what we need and would absolutely make Hughes stay and take us to champions league!

nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 NEWCASTLE - no news is good news in a way...and by the sounds of it they are going to take some time before making their minds up. However the fans will have their say tomorrow night and I suspect the Shearer bandwagon will roll on. I hope they get him and he takes a senior coach with him. He's been pulling a few strings behind the scenes in the past few days to get his name put forward. It makes him a little bit devious...but also confirms he is shrewd enough to handle some of the stranger aspects of modern-day football. If the fans get their way they deserve it and will have to accept it if things go wrong. SIDWELL - puzzled by that one...don't see Chelsea letting him out. The Blackburn link was mentioned by the Sunderland paper but probably is a 'lift' from an old story in a Sunday a week or so back. FAYE - nice to see the LET following up...the claim that he can't join because he has already played for two clubs does not stand up...Jon Stead among others proved that wrong last season. Mind you, there could be another snag before he arrives. KOUMAS - is being held back by Wigan waiting until they get Kapo from Birmingham who won't let him go until they get McFadden who Everton won't sell until they get a replacement. ROBERTS - smiled to see Sunderland linked again, but the story is bogus because the price is still closer to the £4 million. SCOTLAND - Billy Davies has pulled out...and I hope Souey gets it. If he slagged off the standard of current players I would have to agree with him.
modes98 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Everton won't sell until they get a replacement. They can have Mokoena for £5m So everything hinges on other deals. Dominoes!
Ricky Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Fulham had a £4.5m offer for Marlon King knocked back not long ago. If he's worth that much then Roberts must be worth about the same.
Sandiway Blue Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I noticed Houllier is now 3rd fav on betfair AHEAD of the messiah.Have you heard anything regarding this Nicko?
Jim J Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Hughes is still favourite with the bookies, but his odds are drifting, and Keegan, Shearer and Houllier's are all dropping, link here
LeftWinger Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 it's looking like a dead heat 50-50 whether hughes will go or not at the moment... If you really believed that - you'd be backing him at around about 7/2 on betfair. If it really was 50/50 - he'd be Evens or 10/11 in the bookies favour. They still seem to think Hughes is likely to stay at Blackburn.
nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 The only thing that the Betfair markets tell you is that there has been NO decision. The more I think about it the more likely it is that the Newcastle fans will make their choice known tomorrow night and Ashley, who made his money by appealing to customers, will go with that. I believe the fans want Shearer - not Keegan despite the local paper poll. If that is the cry then Ashley may have to swallow it and go for him. Democratic but anarchic.
modes98 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Hughes is still favourite with the bookies, but his odds are drifting, and Keegan, Shearer and Houllier's are all dropping, link here Keegan is pretty much joint favourite with Hughes on every bookie. Houllier is gathering pace and his odds are crashing down. The market is all over the place, much like most of the press articles and the newcastle board. They seem to have the attention span of a goldfish.
