Eddie Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I know for a fact that £3m has stopped from the trust. I know loads of information about the financial situation at Rovers as a very nice document landed in my lap from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend - you get my drift. Why don't you tell us the figures then?

Cheshireblue Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I have a slightly smug look on my face after this lot... JUST BEEN ON SKY. When asked about a dream team with Keegan, Shearer said: "I haven't spoken to Kevin for a long time." Regarding any interest in becoming the Magpies' next manager, the former England captain only reiterated his wish to 'one day' be in charge of his boyhood club. He said: "Am I wanting it? One day, hopefully." Just not this day. And that is the point.
Eddie Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I guess we'll have to see who is right, although he certainly appears more interested than your source made him out to be.
LeftWinger Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Chelsea have had approaches for him from 3 Premiership clubs, 2 who have offered loans and 1 who have offered a decent fee based on his supposed value. Rovers are NOT one of the clubs seeking to loan him. He is for sale at the right price. What about a permanent deal? Have we made an offer?
1864roverite Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 For anyone that can access Chelsea tv on the cable channels Avram Grant is very clear in what he says about OUTGOING transfers, he doesnt name the club making the offer of a permanent deal but names Sunderland and Portsmouth.
LeftWinger Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Preston apparently had a 2 or 2.5 mil (in USD) bid for Twellman denied. That is shocking to me. Are Preston still interested? .....but that price seems amazingly high for his age. His age being 27
nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Just not this day. And that is the point. I thought you said last Friday...
modes98 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 he doesnt name the club making the offer of a permanent deal but names Sunderland and Portsmouth. and the Sunderland paper the other day claimed rovers didn't want Sidwell on loan and were after a permanent transfer. Would be a good transfer to pull off IMO.
Mozzer Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 blackburn probably wont look at sidwell..its amdy faye blackburn want .... if blackburn really want to be considered for europe, players such as diarra and sidwell are who we should be aiming for...

Diarra is £6 million and big wages. Sidwell is probably not available. And that leaves the likes of Koumas and Faye.
modes98 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 blackburn probably wont look at sidwell..its amdy faye blackburn want .... As proven by the current newcastle situation you can't just go for that one player you want the most, unless your chelsea or manyoo. Sometimes you have to have a plan b, just in case. Or in our current situation get him and/or Koumas in and then plan c is Faye.
LeftWinger Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Diarra is £6 million and big wages. Sidwell is probably not available. And that leaves the likes of Koumas and Faye. What about some of the other Arsenal kids - Denilson, Song, Diaby etc - couldn't we get one of them on loan Nicko?
Mozzer Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 i like koumas- i think he could be decent for us.. hes too good for the championship-and with the chance to work under mark hughes i think he could do well..he can play in numerous positions in midfield and i would take him.. i think we could do better then faye tho..
nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 What about some of the other Arsenal kids - Denilson, Song, Diaby etc - couldn't we get one of them on loan Nicko? Arsenal won't let anyone out while they are in Europe, the Carling Cup, the FA Cup and the Premier League. Fair play to old Arsene...he gets a big squad and finds enough games to play them to keep them sharp and sweet. He is a top man. No other manager is currently doing this as successfully. By the way his youth team is sensational just now too.
modes98 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 By the way his youth team is sensational just now too. I thought that was his youth team. The oldest is about 22 and the youngest about 17. Frightening to think he has even more lined up to replace them.
nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I thought that was his youth team. The oldest is about 22 and the youngest about 17. Frightening to think he has even more lined up to replace them. There are kids called Randall and Lansbury who are quite brilliant...and English.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 And he has Liam Brady looking after them
nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Hey Nicko, quick but open ended question... Being an american, I keep tabs on the USA players looking to come across. Still trying to figure out the MLS' ideas abotu who they let go, and why, and for how much. If you have any info in general or on the following, I'd appreciate it, if not, I understand. I see the rumours that Fulham are looking at Eddie Johnson from KC, is that a real interest, have they talked fees? For as inept as our attack force is at the NT level, I'd be amused to see Dempsey and Johnson take on prem defenses week in week out, if they would indeed be the starting pair, which I doubt. Preston apparently had a 2 or 2.5 mil (in USD) bid for Twellman denied. That is shocking to me. Are Preston still interested? I wouldn't be if I were them, even though I see Twellman as someone in the Bellamy-Dicov mold, who could eb good for a fair number of English sides... but that price seems amazingly high for his age. Johnson has come close to moving before...but is there not a work permit issue? Twellman seemed pretty expensive. Keep an eye on Bradley at Heerenveen. I believe there is big interest in him. Good age, good size, experienced already. Decent by all accounts.

I have watched him play in International games, good in defence and attack, a fine all round player.
nicko Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 big interest in him?? from who?? Saving that one for a rainy day...
Mozzer Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 couple weeks ago, when we was linked with sidwell and cisse i was excited at the prospect of them..now its koumas(who i do like) and faye it doesnt seem as good.. if we can maybe just bring in one central midfielder and keep the rest of the squad together-maybe that would be best until the summer(where hopefully someone will have invested in blackburn-doubt it tho)
rossyste Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 nicko........how do you rate leroy lita ? never seems to get much game time at reading and from what i gather is available at the right price.Seems to have a bellamy type profile and we know how he flourished under hughesy when his attention was back on the field..........a realistic roberts replacement ??

I wouldn't argue with that. One point that was overlooked after the Bolton win was the lack of pace in the Roque-Benni partnership is becoming obvious. Jason Roberts looked good because he ran at people, if he did that all of the time he would play every week. Lita wouldn't be a bad shout.
