Well the record books will say they were. Next you'll be agreeing with the Manc hordes that we were lucky to win the Prem in 94/95.

The obvious argument for that is that it's always the best team that wins the league - but not the cups - like Liverpool.

Just heard on "Talksport" that Celtic are apparently interested in Mark Noble from West Ham. I think he would be an excellent signing for us.

He would be a cracking signing - just what we need IMO. However, I doubt West Ham will sell and most certainly would rather sell to a club outside the Prem.

There's no chance with Noble. Would be a great signing though. Can only see him leaving W Ham for bigger and better things and for loads of money...

Now so far this window we have removed Savage (£35k per week minimum) & Enckleman off the pay scales, so we must of freed up some room.

Wonder if anyone will move for Mifsud from Coventry now that there embargo has been lifted? I wouldn’t mind us going for him, I think he could cut it in a better squad.

Id like to see us move for Misfud, the Bulgarian sprinter, Sidwell on Loan and Wes Brown.

Sell Gallagher (he is on over £16k per week), Roberts (£25k per week minimum), Henchoz and Berner.

Also loan out Rigters & Treacy for some 1st team experience.

Might as well post this here as well. Any views Nicko?

This morning the Lancashire Telegraph are running a story which says that Wiillam's has finally ended his interest in buying Rovers.

Here's the article Kamy.

Interesting comments from Dan Williams:

Daniel Williams said: "Everyone who has looked at Blackburn has said there is no way to grow it from a business point of view".

"At the end of the day, it is an investment and right now, we can't see any way we'd get a fair return on that investment if we took the club over at the present level".

"My heart says yes, but my head says no."

"The only way you could get a return on your investment would be to start selling assets and, being a fan myself, that's not a route I was prepared to go down."

S'funny thing eddie but with the demise of anything worth debating on the ICBINF channelling most debate onto the football page your limitations really become apparent. I thinks its fair to say that you and Rovermatt do not travel well. Hope that doesn't offend.

Thank you very much. Leftwinger pretty much answered this question for me, but let's play your game anyway.

Who were the better side, Chelsea (FA Cup Winner) or United (League Cup Winner)?

Real Madrid (La Liga winner) or Sevilla (UEFA Cup Winner)?

If you pick either of the two cup winners in that then obviously you disagree with the basis of my what I am saying, if you don't, then you are simply choosing to argue with me because I am Eddie and there are several of you who work like that. Now as I said, I'm not saying these teams didn't deserve to win the cup, I'm not saying that it isn't an achievement, I'm not saying that their fans shouldn't enjoy it, I'm not saying that I'm not jealous and I'm not saying that the history books will have an asterix next to their cup win or something like that. What I am simply saying is that winning a cup competition that may take you anywhere from 5-12ish games to win is not nearly as hard as winning the league and the best side will win the league, whilst another team may win a cup. This is backed by the fact that there are cup upsets and upsets on individual weekends in the leagues, but very few teams finishing in surprise places over the course of a 38 game season. It is also supported by the fact that the top 4 remains the same virtually every season, whereas the the semi-final participants regularly change, even sometimes including sides from the championship. Of course the top 4 will regularly make the the semi-finals, final and even win the competition, that is because they are the best four sides in the country, but despite the fact that the FA Cup involves every football league side, and so is in many ways a more complete competition than the premiership, the fact that it is knock-out means that it is not as testing as the league in terms of overall quality of the side.

Now if you seriously want to argue with that, I think you'll find that you'll be in the minority and that you will be the one who doesn't travel to well. I wouldn't be surprised though, maybe you can round up the gang and Tris and Chesh will back you up, then I really won't have a leg to stand on.

If I didn't know better I'd say someone reads this website, made a call and confirmed what I've been suggesting for the past few months.

I thought the whole of his interview was fairly accurate. It's pretty much the state of play as I know it.

The bottom line remains. He has money, more than most of us, and wants to get involved.

Many thanks to those with helpful information about the 'partnership' thought yesterday, by the way.

Sod the takeover for now, what about incoming midfielders Nicko ??????

I think the subjects may be related...but let's not go over all ground.

Faye is here. Seen him.

Koumas may be too expensive.

And the Bulgarian striker gets an answer soon. What is the Bulgarian for 'we'll monitor your progress'?

When you say you've 'seen him', does that mean you've been down to Ewood today? I'm interested to know what kind of access journalists get.

Talksport can read the Daily Mirror shocker.

I am amazed Strachan thinks he has a chance. Yes, he's a good player. But I still find it hard to believe West Ham will sell.

Be carefull with this geezer. He has a tendancy to go running to the Mods waving an imaginary red card.

Likes to dish it out, not to keen when it comes to taking stick. A bit like a cyber El Haj Diouf.

Let's not go there...I don't think anyone is going to come in with money now and for this window. In fact it's impossible from a time-scale point of view.

Looks like qualifying for the Champions League is the only way to get free money.

do you not get money for qualifying for uefa cup???

i think champs league might be a bit much for us to be honest-but maybe being out of all the competitions it might help keep players fit and ready...

if we can have a good second half of the season then anything is possible tho...

hopefully come the summer we might have some cash available even possibly a takeover..
