Say we roll over and pay Wigan £5m for Koumas and his wages are £35K a week for four years. That is £12m over four years.

That assumes:

1) Wigan want 5m for Koumas. The only figure I've seen suggested is 3m.

2) Koumas is on or will want 35k p.w. He may well not be on anything like that at Wigan.

And ignores :

1) We've sold Savage for 1.5m

2) Savage was probably on the same sort of wage as Koumas anyway if not more.

If the asking price was 3m and Savage/Koumas are similar wage wise that brings the net cost down to 1.5m over four years.

Can we please give the financial woe stuff a rest, by the way.

My head is nipping, I've got one finger to type and a phone at my ear trying to find out what the **** is going on.

Pass the paracetomal.

There is also a grave danger of talking yourself into recession. The fact is there is some cash for a player - probably midfield - and maybe for a striker if Roberts goes.

But you are just depressing yourself otherwise and there is a game to be won that could see you go close to fourth.

Thank god abit of sense!

Who gives a holy ###### about money for a football club, we are supporters and it dosent directley effect us does it?

Thank god its friday ehy!

Is the any word on Castillo because it looked as if he dislocated his shoulder the other night and its a big shame espicially when he paid his own loan fee.

Rafa's been to 2 European cup finals in 3 Years, Fergies been in 1 in around 20 years, does that make Rafa a better manager??

Eddie, IF Rovers won a cup competetion on penalties would you really care?

Success at the end of the day.

1) No - in any event they've won one each. Steve McClaren reached a UEFA final. Does that make him as good as Fergie as well?.

2) No

3) "Success" is probably not the best criteria to use in support of your argument when trying to claim Rafa is better than Fergie

We need a central midfielder that can support the strikers, but one that has the mobility to cover enough ground so they're not a defensive liability. The archetypal 'box to box' player if you will.

If Derby lose another couple of games before the end of the window and their fate looks sealed, perhaps we could buy Savage back for 750k............. ;)

Nicko aparrently the lad you may have seen thinking it was Faye was a totally different player.

walter smith on Rangers tv has said there was nothing in it and he trained with gers today !

Walter Smith speaks with forked tongue.

Amdy Faye is at Blackburn right now. Do you want his hotel and room number?

Second thoughts, maybe I better keep that quiet...I don't want a lynch mob round. ;)

That explains it Amdy Faye is at Brockhall, Andy Faye is still in Scotland.

And there was us thinking we were interested in taking on a 31 year old who can't get a game in the SPL and whose fitness is unproven. We're signing a 21 year old lad who is going to be the next Viera.

Bit worried as to why he gave you his room number though....................

Good god 5m for Koumas? That's insane. There is no way the club should pay that. Think about Roque's fee and then think again. There doesn't seem to be that much interest in him, I wouldn't be suprised to see the club wait till deadline week and pick him up on the cheap at no more than the net cost of selling Savage. That's if we want him.

I can't for the life of me think why we'd want another striker even if Roberts goes. Surely center mid and right back are priorities. I'd bin any two strikers outside of Matty, Benni and Roque if it meant strengthening those two areas. The season left is 16 games and no more.

A few years ago, the game would have been called off already.

What's going on ? Is it raining down there? And before anyone asks: No it isn't up here. It is overcast but no rain so far, and yesterday was beautiful sunny and warm for this time of year.

Ask any PNE fan and they'll tell you he's fast - and that's about it.

No thanks.

Oh yeah...and they're all experts them Preston fans....

I'd rather have had him in't side against Citeh than Zurab.....

He's a good player and will play for a better club than Derby....I'd like it to be us.

A bit of sad but inevitable news...

Colin Hendry is quitting his job at Clyde...he's had a rough time of late with his missus and one or two other things.

I hope the big chap gets another chance soon, somewhere around here where he doesn't have to commute about 25,000 miles a season.

When you think of what he has done to stay working with all of the other stuff going on in his life it puts some ex-pros to shame.

A real gent.
