Faye is coming in on trial with a view to a loan, Cheap and cheerful obviously.

There's no point in wishing for what you can't have...there just isn't much money.

I thought today's performance illustrated perfectly that you need two or three in if possible.

And I think the manager also believes that too...but what can you do?

jesus, the way you say 'another inspiring transfer' its as if you're implying sparky has a bad record in the transfer market when in fact his record is phenomenal. go to the actim index (the best numerical indicator of how good everyone has been playing), and you'll see santa, bentley and samba are all in the top 5 in their position in the league. not to mention the other signings he's made.

i'm not terribly confident but if sparky takes him on trial and likes what he sees i'm prepared to give him a go...theres been loads of examples of a player joining a club and suddenly looking twice the player with the right guidance.

we just don't have the money to sign someone who we know will definitely make things happen, so we have to take these gambles.

this faye saga seems strange, he's not good enough for newcastle who are worse than us and not good enough for charlton who are in the fizzy pop league as abbey ponted out.

doesn't play at rangers where their captain bazza was ###### for us and is probably their best player.

am i missing something here? i know it's a trial with a view to loan but the simple facts of those records is he won't be able to cut the mustard at rovers and imo it's pointless and a backwards step.

1. None of us have seen Faye on a consistant basis have we?

2. Faye has 30+ caps for his country and has played in the premiership for 3 clubs before.

3. Hed cost £1 mill tops.

4. Can you get any worse than we currently have, we need new faces, we look stale.

5. Hughes and his team never let us down, he maybe an unpolished gem in which Hughes can sort out.

I think we should let the club decide if hes good or not, Sparks has a good eye for a bargain and who knows Faye could be another. If he signs i wont be dissapointed and i wont be excited but il give the lad my support.

1. The Charlton Link above isnt exactly full of good opinions of the guy who plays in theCOCA COLA CHAMPIONSHIP. They see him on a consistent basis, that is when he bloody plays.

2. He plays for Senegal :!: Hardly world beaters, lets remember that Aaron Mokoena is the CAPTIAN of South Africa, a far better team. And i have read he has 18 caps.

3. 1 m we could put towards What Transfer Kitty we had and Savage Cash, to buy someone better.

4. Theres a chance.

5. Hughes and his team never let us down- Mokoena? Nonda? Pongolle? They were hardly Unpolished Gems were they?

I really dont see the logic in buying this guy, where a club aiming for European football and where buying someone who cant get in a 1st Division side , and also a side in the Scottish Prem League. I know this is probs a loan deal, but there are limits to how many loans you can have, and i think there will be better options out there I.E the big clubs Reserves (Fletcher,Denilson).

Also, Faye was arrested by City of London Police on November 28, 2007 along with Harry Redknapp, Milan Mandaric, Peter Storrie and Willie McKay over allegations of corruption

Alan

apparently PNE and another Championship club have allegedly tabled bids for Paul Gallacher (info from a nobender fan), do you know of anything in the pipeline re Gally as since he came back he aint featured much.

Gallagher has just not done it for over a year...it's a big disappointment to all concerned.

I think the plan in loaning him to Preston was to help him find his level and probably a buyer.

It's not worked.

PNE have signed a few and overlooked him, so you have to draw your own conclusions.

So has the red tape been avoided? I thought we couldn't sign Faye.

Anyway, mark my words, if he comes, he'll be better than Mokoena. At least midfield is the position he's played all his career. (I assume).

I think you can as we pointed out here a few days back.

It's a bit farcical that there is such a fuss over a player as limited as he is, but I have to stress it's a trial with a view to a loan for a squad player. So keep it in perspective.

On Koumas...I hear it's got a chance and I have to say I was intrigued to see Steve Bruce at the game today. I wonder...
