Fair enough.

Thanks to the outstanding source for the help on this before I start...

There is a young Norwegian winger coming in this week, Anders Karlsen, who plays for Bodo Glimt. He has been before and done enough to be asked back - probably to sign. I suspect he will be for the squad at first.

And there is a lovely tale about a kid called Alex Marrow who won a 'keepie uppie' competition in the Trafford Centre and has just played for the Rovers academy side.

There's also a story about Spurs wnating Roque to replace Berbatov. Not having that one at the moment, thank you.

RSC is always talking about how much he loves it around here and how much is family does in Manc, and after his The Sun Interview about sparky cant see that happening unless it was silly money.

Nicko.

You were at the game yesterday.A typical recent performance - poor but (apart from Coventry) the result was better than the performance.

I've read your report in the People. What did you really think of Rovers yesterday? Do you agree that the team we have should be performing better that that, or do you think that is as good as we are.

I thought that was a poor show, the manager did too. However there is still a bit of grit in the side and that is also 10 points out of 12. The week off comes at a good time and the Villa and Everton games are huge six-pointers coming up.

There's no doubt the squad could do with some freshening, but that might not be possible.

Some key men are below form. MGP is poor, big Ryan has lost a bit of pace and the Dunn-Reid pairing is new and needs a bit of work. Roque is quality but needs quick legs beside him.

The team is probably top six potential, the squad may come up short.

One thing is a certainty, RSC would not play regularly if he joined Spurs.

On the contrary. Spurs minus Berbatov would probably equal a big role for RSC there. But let's not dwell on such unpalatable hypotheticals  .

Any idea when the end of 2006-2007 season financials might be available Philip?

If your refering to me, that would suggest you feel MGP is worth more than £8m.

If such is the case then only one of us is stupid.

I love stuff like this, eveybody bleets about footballers having no loyalty and being ready to screw over the club in order to sek more money and success when every single inch of the way supporters are just as bad.

Some poor performances and everybody wants to kick a player out, and doesn't give two flying *****. MGP has done nothign to suggest that he lacks "loyalty" which the fans praise so highly. It so hypocritical. If RSC was wanted by someone and he wanted to leave everybody would be in tears when he leaves but its fine when the boot is on the other foot.

For me I would sell MGP if we were offered 8m. But then I also have little problem with it being business, and that if a players wants to go he can leave for the right price.

Players don't care about fans because, unless they are playing well, they are essentially pieces of meat to be traded back and forth. Its not going to inspire a player to love a club is it.

Wow, that's deflating....well unless Anders Karlsen is a flying left winger.

Are you mad sell MGP

Look he's still a crowd favourite and just because he is not scoring goals doesn't mean he is a bad player. He still puts the occasional killer pass through and he is our best corner taker.

I think one of the reasons he isn't scoring as many goals is because when corners are taken (when he is not taking them) he is not in the box and the ball always gets cleared I seem to remember him scoring a couple of headers last season.

I admit though he does need to work on his dribbling which is sometimes abysmal.

If he were to get 1 or 2 goals in a match i'm sure he would find his feet again.

Its the same with Samba and Nelsen their confidence levels seem to be low so they are conceeding more.

Im no expert but i can see there is something wrong with his pace - he's just not as fat as he used to be last season.

If he were to find his feet at boro again he'd be worth 16milllion

Being a crowd favourite doesn't score you goals or win you matches. He started to pick up his form but seems to have dropped back off again. MGP seems all to happy to defend and not push on down the left. When crossing he takes to much time on the ball allowing the defender to get back at him. I don't think he is our best corner taker anymore either. Bentley put some decent corners in and MGP seems reluctant to take free kicks or corners now. That maybe due to bentley pulling rank but he used to grab the ball off anyone to take them.

Is he really a crowd favourite though.....maybe with the thirteen year old girls but not with the people who see him play week in week out. Fair enough he may not be scoring goals but at the moment his all round play is dismal to say the least. I would love for his form of three year to return however at the moment I cannot see that happening. Even when he went through a stage of scoring several goals...about a year and a half ago...his allround play was poor.

People (non Rovers fans) always say to me that Pedersen is a great player however they only see him on about 40 secs worth of highlights and occasionally scoring a cracking goal but watching him for 90 minutes week in week out is becoming a bore. Emerton, a right back, did more in 20 minutes yesterday then Gamst did for the previous 70.

Totally agree with you Jordan. Pedersen has been poor for a year or more. If Sergio Peter hadn't been injured for most of the season I think Pedersen would have been out of the team some time ago. The fact that he continues to hold down his place is due to the fact that we have no replacement in the Reserves. I've watched Treacy a great deal in the Reserves and honestly don't believe he is what we need on the wing. That Pedersen continues to be selected just highlights the threadbare nature of the squad.

Perhaps Gamst is spending so much time in the full back position because Warnock is never there. Granted, Emerton looked better on the left wing when he replaced Gamst yesterday but it also co-incided with three break-aways that Middlesbro initiated down their right flank with those Rovers defenders that were back, racing over to cover for the non existent left back.

On the contrary, his lack of goals highlight just how poor the rest of his game is.

We might as well play with ten men every week.

Stupid boy.

IF you're saying he's stupid to believe ANYONE would want MGP for more than a portion of fish and chips, I'd agree. If you're saying that we shouldn't sell MGP for £8m, I'd say it's you that's stupid.

Treacy, Peter or Olsson cannot really do worse than Gamst at the moment. That trio have pace, so even if they can't cross for toffee, can't pass, can't shoot - at least they will stretch the opposition.

Alternatively, push Warnock LM (where he had a brilliant season with Coventry) and get someone to play LB (although, I'd prefer Berner to be left out of things).

Remember when Hughes came in and gave Gamst the cold shoulder? He was used in the cup-tie against Bournemouth and scored and then for the next THREE months Hughes kept him off the pitch. The reason was that Gamst was not physically up to handling the Premiership. Well, I ask, is he physically/mentally up to the task now - it would seem not.
