Alan75 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Despite Hughesy saying I will only buy to better the team, I think any fresh faces in and around the squad will boost morale. Plus you never know til you've tried. Maybe a comedian to cheer up the lads and a scapegoat to take all the flack

Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'm guessing this isn't the Swedish winger, Googled his name but something doesn't quite seem right... Click
JAL Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Question to nicko, How on earth did you judge Warnock the same as Ooijer with a six a piece surely a typing error. Warnock looked from the first minute to the last like a little lad lost on a premiership playing field. How bad was that free kick from Warnock which we eventually scored from i see better in the combination and on a sunday morning.
Torgeir Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I'm guessing this isn't the Swedish winger, Googled his name but something doesn't quite seem right... Click He might be a winger, but if you were thinking of the Norwegian winger, Anders Karlsen, it's not him The real deal!
Backroom trueblue Posted January 21, 2008 Backroom Posted January 21, 2008 I'd love to grab the Bulgarian guy. He might be happily married
S15 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 My point wasn't that. He hasn't been good enough and we should look to sell I agree. What I was getting at is that supporters are just as selfish as players- we only care if they are good enough. Otherwise we look to sell them quick as they can. Doesn't matter if they have shown effort and loyalty and respect for the club. We don't care. They are traded pieces of meat to us. But then people are agast and bleet when players who are playing well want to leave for bigger clubs and more wages. What goes around comes around, thats all I am saying. Keep it in mind when RSC looks to move on. Of course not, but when you are being payed in the £30k per week bracket, IMO you must expect nothing less. If you were sat in an office on £100k a year, you wouldn't get away with doing nothing for three years after a promising start (After a 6 month probation I must add). I expect nothing less from RSC, or Bentley, or anyone else. If you earn you money with performances, you earn your right for a reward. That can be a move or a pay rise, which one doesn't bother me, as it is rare a player leaves us on the cheap. Incidently, I remember MGP talking in very 'Hughes like' terms when bigger clubs were linked with him. IE, he'd have been off like a shot given a chance.
joey_big_nose Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Incidently, I remember MGP talking in very 'Hughes like' terms when bigger clubs were linked with him. IE, he'd have been off like a shot given a chance. And why shouldn't he when we look to get shot of him as quick as possible when things aren't going our way. The fact that there is no loyalty in football in just as much about the fans as the players. Same goes for Hughs. Four losses on the spin and all this "we gave you a chance, shopw us some respect" crying business will be thrown in for "lets get rid of him immediately!"
bubblerrovers Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Why Sell him now?? we wouldn't even get 3 million, lets wait till he ever scores another wonder goal then sell for 5mill, if that ever happens.....
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Thoughts on the Reid/Koumas swap Nicko?
1864roverite Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Reid for Koumas ? Bruce must have lost the rest of his brain thinking Titus bramble was a Premiership defender !!
Lurid Coat Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Everton are ready to offer £2m for out-of-favour Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis (Mail). If there's any truth to his being valued at £2m - I'd like us to at least enquire about his availability.
Silencio Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Same here. Davis and Reid would be a decent midfield two. Not the most creative but solid.
philipl Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 My recollection is that Sean Davis has said quite a lot of negative things about Rovers including vowing never to play for us. Has he been any good since being the main driving force behind Fulham's promotion/Championship in 2001?
ihateburnley Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Same here. Davis and Reid would be a decent midfield two. Not the most creative but solid. Yes but in my opinion it is creativity we so desperately lack in midfield. Davis would be a good signing especially if it is for similar money to what we got for Savage, but if the rumours about a lack of funds are correct, perhaps we need to use all available funds to buy the players we need the most. For me, a creative midfielder ideally with a bit of pace is not only needed but also EXPECTED. However, I realise that these players do not come cheap.
Ricky Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Nicko, you heard anything about the ROI job and a possible return for Mick Macarthy??
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Papers over here reckon it's El Tels now Ricky, (please god no!)....and the Reid/Koumas swap is in the Mirror today
Mozzer Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 sean davis is a good shout..at 2million he could be worth a go... koumas and reid swap deal hahaha..swap our best central midfielder when fully fit-that would be going forward wouldnt it.. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3067452,00.html with the way nelsen has been performing of late, maybe a bid for a future england international could be worth a punt..
