I hear that Podolski has been told that he can leave Bayern on loan, with Citeh leading the race to sign him. Maybe lightening could strike twice, what with us getting Roque off them in the summer too. Ah well, one can dream.

Confirmed on the Sky Sports website. They are stupid to let him go but if we can get him it'll give us a massive boost.

I never said that about Onuha and Richards, read it again, and youll see i was discussing England

2m, they want 5m for him.

You mentioned he wouldn't get in the england squad because of Richards being so good!

The only fee mentioned in that article is £2m for Ridgewell which i assumed was the fee but looking back at the different articles about him This is the one with a fee and it is only £4m. Still worth a go but i doubt we would at that price.

Where is Nicko with some gossip?

if your a good player , your a good player, regardless of the club you played for..

ridgewell moved to st andrews at the beginning of the year-and hes probably been there best player..thats from villa to birmingham-big rivals...

at 2million cahill is worth a punt..hes young, english, and cant be much worse then the underperforming nelsen..

Its been said Villa want £5m, which is Ludicrous for a unproven dingle.

Also, if we had £5-£10 Million to spend ye , a CB maybe a good buy , but we dont and at this minute in time we need to improve the midfield, using the Savage Cash and Savages wages.

Bentley to Newcastle?

http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=74869

According to The Sun, he's on Keegan's wanted list...

along with; Newcastle want to take Sol Campbell from Portsmouth, with Manchester City's Micah Richards and Manchester United's Michael Carrick also on their shopping list (Star).

&

Newcastle have joined West Ham in the race to sign Reading's Nicky Shorey (eatsleepsport.com 1020 GMT).

So... they're spending about £60million?

Can you see any truth in any of these Nicko?

Sick of the media love in with Keegan/Newcastle already!

I dont think anything tribalfootball.com says ever turns out to be true.

Of 606 Rumour thread

It would seem that Mr Ashley is going to have to dig deep into his cash reserves. A similar video conference (witnessed by my friend who is Keegan's part time butler / man servant) between Keegan and Rooney's fiance (Coleen?), ended with her admitting that Rooney had not fulfilled his potential at Utd and he was open to the possibility of a move to Newcastle. Rooney's fiance reckoned it would cost Newcastle half of Ronaldo's 60 million fee to secure Rooney's services.

Here's a good one on Skysports.com;

(Newcastle United fan) says...

From a very good source within the newcastle united set-up. Barry Ferguson will sign this week for 3 million. Diego will be bid for in the summer. Given, Taylor, Faye, Enrique, Beye, Milner, N'zogbia, Duff, Owen and Emre all said to be staying, with the rest of the squad being told they are available to leave. As said earlier, Diego will be bid for, bit only if a bid for Deco is turned down. The three players KK will Bid for in this window are Barry Ferguson, Jonathon Woodgate and Daniel Van Buyten. Carr will move to Sunderland in the summer, Ramage will join Birmingham at the end of the season, Geremi will make a return to Boro, Martins will make a return to Italy with Lazio, Viduka will move on to Fulham, in a double swoop Barton and Harper will move onto West ham, if barton is cleared of the charges brought to him.

 How the hell would anyone know all that? I bet even Keegan himself doesn't know that much!

Though to be fair... I have heard a lot of talk of Ferguson to Newcastle and Keegan has been working up in Scotland! Bazza back in the Prem?

From Press Information sources.

Thats good news if you ask me. Would hate to pay money we havent got for him only to find out he is rubbish and then we get stuck with him

Good move.

and will complete the top secret deal for Man Utd's Anderson on loan for the rest of the season.

I expect he'll be serve a long apprenticeship in the reserves before he's allowed anywhere near the first team.

Probably more like, he'll serve a long apprenticeship in the Reserves only to get frustrated at not making it into the team and leaving for a nomial fee. <_<

Been away...domestic duties...just a quick run-through.

AMDY FAYE is here and will be for the rest of the week.

The BULGARIAN might come on loan if Levski Sofia accept the idea...that may take some persuading.

STEVE BRUCE was watching Steven Reid on Saturday...you can always look...Wigan are being hard to deal with over Koumas, which is understandable in their position.

KARLSEN should be in and the IRISH boy too.

That's makes sense with the "breaking news" (on the BBC):

"Wigan could offer Blackburn Jason Koumas in an effort to lure Steven Reid (Daily Mail, 1540 GMT). "

Surely Steve Bruce must realise this would be very unlikely.

Blimey...we need more than two future prospects, one midfield journeyman and an untested relative unknown if we are to challenge for the top six. I know we have little to no cash to spend on transfers, but we really should publicly state that from now on we're not "signing players to go straight into our first eleven."

I see nothing wrong with getting the young lads in, a highly rated striker in on loan-and even Faye if he pleases Hughes, but seriously as I say above, our ambitions really should come down a peg or two if this is the limit to our transfer activity.
