More interesting than the mindless made up rubbish that you post. I find it very sad and self-important when people are obviously making things up to make themselves look important on an internet forum

i'm not interested in making myself look important/ boosting my ego, anyone who knows me will tell you that.

interested to know what you define as made up rubbish, and how you can prove it is, though .

This is a messageboard for posting rumours etc, if you don't like it don't read it.

Rumours, mmmmm..................Is it true you and pleasure are going in the big brother house shortly?

den, i have it on very good authority (source couldnt be better) that bellers will be returning.

so, you wont be disappointed.

Didn't you also say that Eidur was as good as signed last year? Don't make me find the quote. I'm unemployed at the moment, so I probably will!

Everybody gets stuff wrong pleasure, no doubt about it. I think you just come across as somebody who just posts rumours and accelerates how close we are. Everybody knew we were after Bellamy, so SSN saying we were is hardly vindication. Myself and Tugay4England posted about Francis Jeffers probably a good two years before you did. We aren't claiming that one.

I enjoy reading rumours, it's certainly better than a slow news day. But "my mate who is a very good sourse says we have 99% signed <PLAYER X>" is just frustrating and pointless to read. 1864 did a load of the same thing with his mate from Chelsea TV and "Grabbi's personal chef" (at a restaurant I worked at!) He doesn't do it much at all now and things he says are taken far more seriously. I'm just saying that, from a personal perspective, you post a lot of stuff that ends up wrong and it makes the things that end up right look like guesses that have worked out on the law of averages. I can't be the only one who thinks that.

Please don't stop posting stuff when you have genuine info that other people don't have access to. It's what this mb is all about. It'd be a seriously boring place if we just waited for BBC Sport to confirm everything. But don't act so indignant and upset when people belittle you or choose not to believe you because you must admit you've given them enough ammunition for that.

Been on my ignorelist for years already! :tu:

Now I thought this was Nicko's thread...

thanks for that bellamy11, some good points.

guilty on gudjohnsen, it was duff information, but the 'mido medical', and bellamy stuff was honestly 100% true and posted in good faith.

people are always going to be sceptical, but there's not a lot i can do about that, that's life.

the issues lie with the people it upsets, not with me.

i'm not a 'wind-up mechant', i am a geniune rovers fanatic, and just passing on information.

ribblesdale, how did you know about BB ? i promise to wear a bfcs.co.uk T-shirt when i go in.

It's fairly quiet, but there is one bit of potentially good news.

I understand Manchester City have gone cold on the Roque Santa Cruz idea. I think they are now looking elsewhere. It is a window of opportunity, but it also suggests that this is a hard deal to do.

Bayern are also saying they want top keep him because they have injuries among their strikers. That sounds to me like 'give us some more money and maybe we will sell.'

I cant comment on him because I have never seen him play however, from what I have read he isnt the player he used to be (I know he is only 25). What says the rest of your press chums on this Nicko? Does anyone else think that he will be a worthy purchase or is it a case of he is the best of a bad bunch that is available at the moment?

Pleasure: Are you absolutely sure you are a journalist? If so, then gone are the days when you needed a degree in English Language to even be considered. There may be hope for me yet. ;)

Banded = bandied.

Write = right.

Since the invention of spell and grammar check, I doubt journos need any English language qualifacations anymore. I mean just look at some of the tabloid "columnists"...

I think the Steven Reid injury was an excellent scoop. Other than that, I don't think Pleasure has got anything right. So that's about a 2% success rate. It is obvious that Nicko has a long string of contacts within the game, as a free lance journalist. Unleaded too has often revealed good information before it has hit the news and often gives us some interesting snippets on new trialists at the academy. You, Pleasure, do nothing but frustrate and annoy. Either you are on a wind up, you have far less impressive contacts than you might think, or your "contacts" are deliberately misleading you or winding you up. Until you get more than one in twenty "scoops" right, then I'll continue to be bored and annoyed by your posts. I think a lot of people are being less harsh on you becase they are newer to the board and haven't had to put up with all your crap.

So, back to Nicko, whose contribution we actually appreciate.

How is that good news? From what I've seen the guy has a work ethic worse than Dwight Yorke and has the same goal scoring knack as I do (ie only by fluke).

I'd be more excited about Beattie. (who me and Pringle met in the services on the M6 a few years ago)

And as for fan tips - its Hughsey all the way for me. Sorry Pleasure

or you could just use the ignore fuction.

Nothing wromg with what Pleasure is doing in my opinion...keep it up I say.

so this is all going no where

It's going round in circles a bit. I think Beattie and Santa Cruz are the most likely targets right now, but it is a terrible time to be buying players.

Beattie would happen immediately if Everton were selling at the right price.

Santa Cruz is the alternative but that is even harder to crack.

At times like this it is better to watch and be patient than do anything crazy.

By the time the season starts Beattie will be out of the picture at Everton and even more keen to move.

And in a few weeks we will see who wants Santa Cruz badly enough to pay - and who has the money left to buy him.

As a few people have pointed out the manager has sat and waited in the past and got his man...McCarthy in particular springs to mind.

Just be happy that there are probably only a couple of places needing to be improved in the squad just now. It could be worse. And if you look at some of the clubs re-shaping their sides with average players then there is no need to despair.

ex journo, fife, as i've stated on many occasions. sorry for the spelling mistakes, that’s what you get trying to do a dozen things at once.

i wish i had as much free- time as you seem to. we don’t all have 24 hours a day spare to come up with conspiracy theories!

I met Egil Ostenstad in the Burton-in-Kendal Services on the M6 (he was standing off-side at the time), but he still didn't fill me with confidence...

I have to say this is a cracking thread - and I know better than to ask about sources - but Nicko, are you a Rovers fan? Or are there other incarnations of you (and your peers) lurking about in other clubs messageboards?

Still totally amazed with the amount of cash that's being wasted at the moment, there must be a point in time when the money runs out and the teams that have hung back and not panic bought will be able to negotiate with players/clubs without their offer being trumped?

Is Hughes playing a waiting game?

It's been the case for quite a while I'm afraid - I blame the rise of the Australian , Rupert "King of the Tabloids" Murdoch for such low standards :(
