des Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Having looked at the buying of players todate, it seems to me that unlike other seasons, it is hard to name the three teams that will go down next season. most if not all the teams seems to have spent well, and the weaker teams last season will not be weak this time around, plus the teams coming up have also invested well. so with your thinking caps on, who do you think will go down next season and why

Ben-2000 Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 The 3 i'd like to go down are: 18 Sunderland 19 Birmingham 20 West Ham but I think Derby will take West Ham's place... the 3 promoted clubs will go down
des Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 I do not think that sunderland will go down, they have money to spend and with the boss that they have I would hate to be the players that failed him
1864roverite Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Crikey we are 5 weeks away from starting and we are talking relegation candidates !!! For me this is going to be tough at this preent stage due to clubs being able to make signings and things can change dramatically. I would imagine that the 5 candidates will be Boro Fulham Derby Birmingham Sunderland
RoversFanUSA Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Well for me i like: WestHam Fulham Birmingham Derby Wigin
Fife Rover Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Crystal Ball at the ready.....uh uh! the fog is clearing. Now I see that the FAPL has sacked 3 members of it's present board, and the EPL clubs have voted on messrs Williams, Whelan amd McCabe as replacements. Oh now what's this? The new FAPL board have ordered immediate relegation for West Ham for last seasons misdemeanors and have re-instated Sheff Utd just in time for the start of the season. Oh dear the crystal ball has fogged up again; can't see any further. Sorry.
rover_groo Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Middlesbrough Wigan Derby I think Sanchez is going to surprise a few people with Fulham this season. I think he just needs to sort out his strikeforce and they'll steer well clear of relegation this season.
youandwhosearmy Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 wigan fulham derby hopefully i could be wrong and Birmingham go down
tchocky Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Wigan for sure. Derby might do a Reading and stay up. Whereas Reading will struggle this time around. Not impressed with Roy Headcases purchases so far. They could fold. Big Club will probably have some trouble as will Foolam. So many changes is bound to upset the team spirit (Brum). And of course, hopefully and quite possibly down thereabouts: notlob. Surprise of the season: Everton back down to lower table mediocrity. In fact, heres my bottom 10! 20. Wigan 19. Fulham 18. Reading 17. Birmingham 16. Bolton 15. Everton 14, Sunderland 13. Derby 12. Portsmouth 11. West Ham 10. Manchester City *EDIT: seems I forgot about Pompey. Villa in top 10 then. Think Boro will be just up around midtable. Good strikers they've bought. And Woodgate. Crap manager though.
brfc fan Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 In fact, heres my bottom 10! 20. Wigan 19. Fulham 18. Reading 17. Birmingham 16. Bolton 15. Everton 14, Sunderland 13. Aston Villa 12. Derby 11. West Ham 10. Manchester City I hope Bolton do finish that low down.
budha Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Fulham, Wigan, Birmingham and Derby will be the bottom four.
Roost Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Relegation - my 3 18 - NEWCASTLE 19 - BIRMINGHAM 20 - WEST HAM Reasons: NEWCASTLE - 'Big Club' ######. The only thing they will win this year is the dubious honour of wasting more money than any other team BIRMINGHAM - Have never been good enough to be in the Premiership, their dismal record shows this WEST HAM - Justice. This time they played the cheating game and won. Nowhere to hide next season ROVERS - Top 7 ONE LOVE - BRFC
Flopsy Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Portsmouth Brum Wigan I dont think Pompey will ahve anywhere near as good a season as they did last season, their back four is a year older, Kanu wont have a season like that again and he's reinforced with pooh. Plus I really dont like shyster Harry
frosty Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 I don't think Sunderland go down, for me it will be: Derby Birmingham Wigan
roversmum Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 My head tells me: Wigan Manchester City Sheffield United/West Ham ( ) - you never know....... My heart would like: Bolton Birmingham Fulham assuming West Ham are already relegated, otherwise of course they top the list
andrew92 Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 i would love west ham to go down, so hopefully it is 18. Bolton 19. Birmingham 20. West ham
Martin Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 In trouble: Derby - Weakest squad by miles. Wigan - Hutchings = disaster Fulham - Weak squad - Sanchez not up to it M'boro - I'm not sure Southgate is a manager Reading - Difficult second season - No stars Birmingham - Signing too many average players Sunderland - As above It wouldn't suprise me at all if the following ended up in trouble: Bolton - Allardyce an impossible act to follow City - Sven, Man City, Takeover etc something doesn't add up. West Ham - Too much money, not enough heart.
brfc fan Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Sorry, I forgot about Portsmouth. 18. Fulham 19. Wigan 20. Pompey That's a bit better. Sorry Fulham but I do worry about whether Sanchez can keep you up. He's a brilliant national manager but I don't know if he can do the same with the Cottagers. I hope I'm wrong.
Plastic Head Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 As usual there is a queue forming of teams likely to go down. Don't think we'll be one.... If I had to bet my life on one it would be Derby. BW are surely in for a very difficult season though...I don't think their fans realise it yet.......
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 18. Reading 19. Fulham 20. 'BIG CLUB' Rovers to finish 12th.
