Ricky Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Lets just hope it's not too serious and we can get him fit in the next couple of weeks. The international break could be a god send
Mark Atkins' Bald Patch Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Lets just hope it's not too serious and we can get him fit in the next couple of weeks. The international break could be a god send Anybody know how long it would take to recover from surgery for tendonitis? If that is what's required?
DanLad Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Anybody know how long it would take to recover from surgery for tendonitis? If that is what's required? I think it's about a month...
philipl Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Get it done now if it needs an op- there is two weeks without football ahead of us.
Dunnfc Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Yes id let him have the op but it gives Roberts,Mccarthy,Derbs a chance to take a place so it aint all bad.
Cocker Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Yes id let him have the op but it gives Roberts,Mccarthy,Derbs a chance to take a place so it aint all bad. You know Roberts is injured at the moment dont you
joey_big_nose Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Arrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! He is pretty much the core of the way we play football at the moment. Losing him will be a massive blow.
Mozzer Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 if we happen to lose santa cruz, shouldnt roberts be fit now??..i know cruz would be a big blow, but roberts was injuried 2 weeks ago, and it was reported he would be back in 3-4 weeks...
tcj_jones Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 This is a massive blow. Bentley is the only player in the team that I feel we would miss more. Nelsen and Santa Cruz out is bad news. Thank God it came before the international break. Tendonitis can mean a month out. I really hope that McCarthy has bucked his ideas up and will start performing regularly, because we really do need him now. I'm really sad at hearing this.
KimberleyBRFC Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Santa Cruz suffers injury blow NOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUU!!!!! Oh B*llox!!
b12_simon Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Hopefully this is something the manager's picked up from Fergie and he'll be "recovered" after the internationals
Wolves_Rover Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 It's my fault, I put him in my Fantasy team this week... But seriously, if he has the op (if needed) now, could he possibly be back in time for the Liverpool & Utd games?
Sparky Marky Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Hopefully this is something the manager's picked up from Fergie and he'll be "recovered" after the internationals I tend to think that this is nearer the truth.
den Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Tendonitis can be very serious in it's worst form. It can be VERY VERY painful and difficult to treat. Hope Santa's doesn't come into that catageory.
USRoverME Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 from the soccernet article: "Team doctor Manuel Aguilar told the ABC newspaper that Santa Cruz would need around two weeks to recover. " link: Click here
RevidgeBlue Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 This all seems very odd. He picked up an injury on Sunday but our own medical people failed to pick it up? Surely we would have been aware of it and refused to allow him to travel?
Ronin Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Maybe Hughes had a little word to the Paraguayan medical staff?
92er Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 According to Radio Lancs today, Santa Cruz has not left England but they don't know how long he will be out.
Fife Rover Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 This all very confusing: If he has not travelled, how do the Paraguayan medical people and their officials know what is wrong with him? This can only be because Rovers have advised them of the situation, but then I thought there had been a new rule issued recently that the National team's authorities were not going to take the word of clubs any more in regard to non-release of players through injury, and were insisting on examining players medically themselves.
B.R.F.C Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Hopefully this is something the manager's picked up from Fergie and he'll be "recovered" after the internationals Heres hoping Even if the injury is bad I'm not totally worried as it may provide a chance for the partnership of JR and Benni that was working well towards the end of last season to flourish.
USRoverME Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Fife, that may be the case in Europe, where travel concerns are less of an issue, but I have a feeling, when trans-atlantic or trans-continental flights are involved, there will still be a large amount of cooperation between the club and country staff. Besides, with technology being what it is, who says the Paraguay docs weren't sent the scans/charts/etc elelctronically for their own review?
allanncd Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Very worrying news as Santa on his own admission has a long history of trouble with both knees. This particular knee condition can be very serious and surgery is usually the only possible cure. The lay-off is about 6 months. Bellamy had the op whilst at Newcastle.
joey_big_nose Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Roque reveals injury fear That sort of does sound like he is excusing himself from International duty and will be back for the next game? Bit dodgy really, but obviously better for Rovers. For us to stay on top of our game we need to have him playing, he is virtually the complete striker. I am salivating at the thought of him, Benni, Pedersen, Bentley and Dunn all playing on in good form with a refit and resurgent Reid tieing the midfield together.
