T4E Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 This is the first season he has passed five league goals since turning pro. Is it on Eurosport?
philipl Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Merry Xmas from Santa Cruz Thanks John, that article has left me with a feel good factor. Loved the picture of Zura asking Santa for a starting place in central defence tomorrow (at least that's what I hope he asked for!).
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Two from the early 1960's- Fred Pickering got 2 against Arsenal ( 3-11-62 ) and 3 against West Brom the following game ( 10-11-62 ), he also scored 1 in the next game as well. The following season Pickering did it again, 2 v Villa (21-12-63 ) and then 3 versus West Ham ( 26-12-63 ). In 64/65 Andy McEvoy got 3 versus Sheff Utd ( 17-10-64 ) and 2 next time out against Everton ( 24-10-64 ). This is the partnership that in less than two seasons scored 96 goals between them including 10 hat tricks ! We'll never see their like again, for me the best front two we have ever had, if we could have hung on to Pickering who knows what we could have done. If only Jack Walker had have got richer sooner !
DanLad Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 RSC is undoubtedly the best all-round striker we've had since Shefki Kuqi...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 and he scored the near perfect hat-trick against Wigan. Right foot Right foot Header if anyone can catch Barclays Premier League World on Sky Sports then you'll get to see a Santa interview whilst he's cooking
all you need is duff Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 and he scored the perfect hat-trick against Wigan. Left foot Right foot Header if anyone can catch Barclays Premier League World on Sky Sports then you'll get to see a Santa interview whilst he's cooking It wasn't the perfect hat-trick. It was right foot, right foot, header.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 If you read correctly, I said near-perfect hat-trick
Annie Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 if anyone can catch Barclays Premier League World on Sky Sports then you'll get to see a Santa interview whilst he's cooking Excuse me but what do you mean by that? There really is an interview where he's doing that? Is it on the net?
MCMC1875 Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 After Santa Cruz scored his second against Arsenal, the R5 Live commentator asked when was the last time a player scored consecutive hat-tricks in any league. i missed the replies - can anyone help?
American Rover12 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 and he scored the near perfect hat-trick against Wigan. Right foot Right foot Header if anyone can catch Barclays Premier League World on Sky Sports then you'll get to see a Santa interview whilst he's cooking Caught that this morning, he's class really. Kind of awkward watching him eat at the end of the segment though.
thenodrog Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Santa less than 100% fit still I guess Paraguay must have another meaningless match coming up.
tony gale's mic Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 if he gets a goal tomorrow he'll probably get the player of the month for december you'd think.
Jan Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 if he gets a goal tomorrow he'll probably get the player of the month for december you'd think. You'd like to think so, but he doesn't play for one of the big 4!! Probably be Ronaldo. AGAIN
bellamy11 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 You'd like to think so, but he doesn't play for one of the big 4!! Probably be Ronaldo. AGAIN Aye you're right. Ronaldo has had a pathetic month.
Jan Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Aye you're right. Ronaldo has had a pathetic month. Does that really matter???
frosty Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Santa looked tired 2nd half against City, if we can get him through the Derby and Sunderland games we can rest him against Coventry.
bellamy11 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Does that really matter??? I don't know. You tell me. Ronaldo has only ever won the award twice in his career. Both times last season. This season, out of the four awards thusfar, two have gone to teams outside the Top 4 (Agbonlahor and Richards). Roque has had a fantastic month and has to be one of the favourites this time, but the same can be said of Ronaldo too. Let's not forget that in a month when Ferguson steered Utd to a record for consecutively scoring four goals in a game, Sparky won Manager of the Month. It's hardly Stalin handing out the awards.
JAL Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Santa looked tired 2nd half against City, if we can get him through the Derby and Sunderland games we can rest him against Coventry. Santa Cruz for me is carrying the whole bloody Rovers team at this moment in time, definitely agree about giving him a rest soon along with Bentley and then well see just how strong Hughes Rovers squad is.
Eddie Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Ronaldo has scored again today, so Roque will probably have to score tomorrow in order to get the award.
rebelmswar Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Ronaldo has scored again today, so Roque will probably have to score tomorrow in order to get the award. I would really rather him not get the award as it always seems to be a negative factor for us afterwards.
