He's not signed yet, has he? There's always the danger that some club like Man City have been alerted by him being in the country.

Agree, why all the "fuss" when he's not put pen on paper yet?!

Do you think Sparky will put Benni on the bench at some stage of the season and if he does then is there a risk he's going to sulk like he did at Porto?

BTW Roque's shoe size is only 5 .

With all these strikers to choose from I'm sure that they will all spend some time on the bench. Probably not squad rotation as such but ensuring no burn out in what promises to be a busy season with Uefa, cup runs and league matches to take into account.

There will also doubtless be injuries and suspensions but we can now afford to have two out without weakening the attack. I am convinced that all five (leaving out Jeffers and Gallagher, who are not Premiership standard) will get plenty of action.

looks like weve got him for 3.8million and even bigger barginn than we thought

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...tas_arrival.php :rover:

Under the current market conditions, £3.8 million is a snip for a player with his potential. As MC said, there's always a risk when signing players, but I'd much rather gamble £3.8 million on Santa Cruz (even with the rumored wages) than £5 million on Michael Chopra or £6 million on Diomansy Kamara.

Now if we can just get a young right back and a young central midfielder in, I think we'll be all set.

Edit: £3.4 million says Sky Sports? Even better. Just as a point of interest, what did Rovers wind up paying for Bellamy last year? Didn't it wind up being about £3.5 million?

I'll believe the story when he's finally wearing the blue'n'white...

I remember when Erikkson said he was going to become our manager and then backed out at the eleventh hour. Roy Keane had agreed to join Rovers from Forest before Moan Utd stepped in.

If it happens, it happens.

Official text service: Rovers have completed the signing of Roque Santa Cruz from Bayern Munich. The Paraguay international has signed a four year deal for an undisclosed fee."

Jeffers?

I dont mean to be too down, but hte guy has been bobbins for a few years and if Hughes does get the best out of him, then not only will I be gobsmacked, I shall be very pleased for the both of them.

I'm not sure about him to be honest. It smells like he's coming more to hypen himself up for the big clubs. And Roberts and Derbyshire have earned their chance for us, I really wouldn't want to keep them on the bench all season.

We'll see...
