UEFA Cup 2nd Qualifying Rd 1st leg 16 Aug, 2nd leg 30th Aug.

It will be seeded according to UEFA and Rovers are seeded. Last year it was an open draw but this year in the Intertoto and UEFA Cup 1st Qualifying Rd they introduced Northern, Central and Souther regions. Will this continue?

More importantly will seeded teams play at home second and away first? Last year in this round that wasn't the case.

Any clues?

Dunnagon Swifts will do. We(my team in Holland, friendly match), played them last season and we only lost 2-0. Can't see why Rovers would lose to a team in that class-class. And then, in the first UEFA-cup round (before the group phase will start), give us Mlada Boleslav.

Europe here we come? A trip to Holland would be nice. Although...I'm coming England to finally watch us anyways! :D

I really really hope for Häcken, and for two reasons: They got relegated last year, and are now a mid-table team in the second division. Very easy game for us (And yes, I know about Trelleborg ;)), and secondly because I live in Gothenburg.

Hacken or OB Odense would do me too. Visited Gothenburg last summer - £10 flight from Stansted. Great city, lovely people, cool stadium, easy to get around. Odense is not that attractive but one of my mates lives there :)

Jamie don't forget about the teams playing in the first qualifying round. Think you might have looked at the same list as me which assumes that the team with the higher coefficient will be in the 2nd round. Obviously this wont be the case. We wont actually know the full list until thursday when the second legs of the first qualifying round have been played.

Aye, and it's only about 40 mile away from me.

Wouldn't be a big allocation of tickets for that match and would certainly be a sell-out as would Drogheda or St. Pats. The Glens look as though they've run their course. Big Gary Hamilton plays up front for them and so far has managed about 8 or so goals in pre-season for them.

Are you saying we could get Trelleborgs? Because if so, I would like to get a draw against them and put the ghost of that tie to rest. The fact that we are still talking about it shows how it still haunts us.

It worked for Stuart Pearce in the Euro 96 penalty shoot out, it can work for us.

No we can't draw Trelleborg. Helsingborg are 6-0 up after their first leg against someone else. I'd rather avoid them, expecially if Henrick Larrson is playing. Rhyl or Dungannon would be good, both look favourites to go through.

Thats only correct up until press.

Theres also at least 2 teams who will be seeded above us after the teams from the 3rd Qualifying round of the Champions league (thats assuming that all the seeded teams win)

Assuming we qualify for the group stages, its highly likely we will end up in pot C, with as already mentioned a reasonable chance of ending up in pot B assuming 3 higher ranked clubs get beat We would need about 6 champs league seeds to be knocked out, and all the 1st round games to go to plan for us to end up in pot D,

No he's saying exactly what he wrote, that the city of Helsingborg is near Malmö and Trelleborg.

Oh btw, the s is only there when you use the full name - Trelleborgs FF, Helsingborgs IF etc. Otherwise just Trelleborg or Helsingborg.

So here's a very selfish question. I'm coming over in August form the states and will be in Blackburn on the 15th. My hopes were to see the home opener.

But it looks like that will be postponed due to the UEFA Cup qualifying rounds.

First part of the question: is this true?

Second part: if so, what are the dates of the next home qualifier?
