Scotty Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 You can pay on the day at cash only turnstiles apparently.
grizfoot Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Any idea how many tickets Rovers have sold so far anyone? ... sorry somebody has to ask.
pleasure Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Aug 2 2007, 17:17 ) 533469[/snapback] Before anybody asks. ITS NOT ON EUROSPORT. the 'eurosport gag' keeps getting funnier and funnier!
only2garners Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 You can pay on the day at cash only turnstiles apparently. No reason to doubt you but North End don't usually have a cash turnstile - for league games you have to get a ticket from their tiny ticket office in the main stand - reminiscent of the old Nuttall St office.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Should be plenty travelling just to see Cruz, had about 3,500 there a couple of years back for the friendly. Football Museum about the only worthwhile thing going to see in 'BIG CITY' Preston.

Its about as exciting as the rest of the 'city' centre so worth a wave!
Finch Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 We have to get a result against them after the embarrassing display against Huddersfield. Local pride is at stake!
Hannah Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 You can pay on the day at cash only turnstiles apparently. Heaven forbid that you turn up on the day of a game without a ticket!!!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 They like to refer to Rovers fans as 'plastics' btw...this coming from the fans of a club who were playing infront of an average 5,000 in '95! Looking forward to the game but their strange gravy these nobenders....and some

Strange gravy these nobenders Give 'em a break SG, PNE fans are ok. Better that than a Dingle, a Trotter or a Stretford Rag.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Many of 'em hate rovers Mike believe me.....something to do with half of Bamber bridge being blue 'n' white!

Drummer Boy Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Many of 'em hate rovers Mike believe me.....something to do with half of Bamber bridge being blue 'n' white! I don't like PNE - they've got Burnley-itis. "We're a big club, sleeping giant, huge potential, bigger than Rovers, Lancashire's main club" - yawn yawn. They carp on like this when they've done nowt for decades and achieved nothing more than re-election - hugely envious, deluded and quite peevish with it. Give me Blackpool anyday - they're good lads.
Ben-2000 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I phoned the ticket office this morning to enquire. The girl told me that there are plenty of tickets left and that you can either get one at Ewood or pay on the door at Preston. P.S. don't like NobEnd either!
Wiggy Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 The best way to treat Nob Enderers is with indifference. This really gets their goat because they consider us to be great rivals. An alternative strategy which I employ now and again, is to root for them. " Hope you win this weekend" etc. Seems to have them seething that they aren't even worthy of any dislike.
RevidgeBlue Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Just somebody stop Simon from seeing it....................... There must be scope within this thread now for superstella to create a hilarious new long running "Does anyone know if you can pay on the turnstile?" gag.
Hannah Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I didn't realise that the hatred to PNE was so great. I did work experience there about 10 years ago with the phyisotherapist and have to say I had an excellent time - everyone was lovely and really accomodating. Having said that I vaguely remember a story in the papers a good few years ago about a youth team player for PNE who turned up to training wearing a Rovers shirt got stripped and tied naked to a shopping trolley (and i really hope someone can find a link for that cos I would hate to think that I had dreamed such an awful thing!!!) BTW Does anyone know if i just go on Saturday. Will i be able to get in???

BTW Does anyone know if i just go on Saturday. Will i be able to get in??? Hatred is a bit strong - irritation at their delusional tendencies is more accurate - as someone mentioned earlier, they can't stand our patronising them as a lower league club which of course is all the more reason to do it. In fact, I don't mind if they win on Saturday as it is their FA Cup Final, to be honest, whereas we have bigger fish to fry in the premiership and UEFA Cup.
den Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 We have to get a result against them after the embarrassing display against Huddersfield. Local pride is at stake! On both sides MC A full strength North End drew 1-1 with the mighty Forest Green.
Alan75 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 On both sides MC A full strength North End drew 1-1 with the mighty Forest Green. It was a testimonial for Jim Harvey the Forest Green manager, wouldnt have been polite to beat his team would it.
den Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 It was a testimonial for Jim Harvey the Forest Green manager, wouldnt have been polite to beat his team would it. Ah, true Alan, true.
Finch Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 On both sides MC A full strength North End drew 1-1 with the mighty Forest Green. Suddenly I feel much better. I prefer to think that courtesy didn't play a part in the result. Funny that the sense of local rivalry is not restricted to those living in the local area.
Mike Graham Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 The "BRFC Preston Rovers" flag will get an airing at Dumpdale this sat. Should really wind-up the plebs. 6-v-0 to Rovers
