GET IN!!!!!!

Just what we need. Boating still the plank he's always been - although Derbs was a tad fortuitous not to be sent off. We didn't play all that well from what I heard - but then that's the sign of a good team winning when not playing well.

Hope Benni's not too seriously injured - even with our glut of good strikers we could do with as many bodies as possible, what with the UEFA cup and all that (not to mention he's a class act). Nice for Roque to get off the mark quickly as it'll ease the pressure on him.

Brad still awesome as ever, and considering we've still reid and emo to come back into the mixer things are looking good. Will definately be tapeing motd tonight.

What happened in the "fracas" at the end?

Not much really. Just a bit of pushing and shoving. The camera shot was a bit late into it to find out a cause. Needless to say, Boateng sparked a lot of the hostility leading up to it. He should have been gone with two yellow cards.

(EDIT: Grizfoot: "Boateng kicked the ball at Pedersen after the whistle apparently." Surprise, surprise.)

Roque Santa Cruz was magnificent. He's got a great header, is skilful, and not pushed off the ball easily, amongst other positive traits.

"The South African got up but after taking a few steps he appeared to collapse to the ground. He received immediate medical attention, with the Blackburn physio making sure he had not swallowed his tongue."

Doesn't sound too good does it?

I know it's easy to say after today, but with the strikers we have got I don't feel a long-term injury to Benni would affect us in the way that an injury to Friedel, Savage, Nelsen or Samba would.

First half was horrible to watch. Frankly speaking, we didnt play well but still managed to get 3 points.

Freidel - Majestic. 2 important saves.

Warnock - First half was shocking. 2nd half was o-k-a-y.

Nelsen/Samba - Trouble dealing with high balls aimed at Yakubu. 2nd half was better.

Ooijer - Slightly exposed by the pacy Downing but did alright overall. Where was Emerton by the way?

Bentley - Good cross for Cruz's goal but average game.

Pedersen - Freekicks were awful, nearly all hit the Boro's wall. But still managed to assist for the winner.

Dunn - Average too, didnt really control the midfield.

Savage - His fault for conceding the goal but worked hard chasing down opposition.

McCarthy - Had a goal in the net but offside. Injury looks terrible on tv. Hope he recovers soon.

Roberts - Strong and worked hard but didnt really have clear chance at goal.

Santa - Everything about him was brilliant, his goal, his movement etc. (he's bigger than i thought!)

Derbyshire - Another impact player. 23 secs to register his first goal.

Mokoena - Too little time to impress.

Hughes - His substitutions just brilliant.
