Spurs move 5 clear of us now. 6 if you take our goal difference into account. 3 points now means we still are in the bottom 3. INCE HAS TO GO!! TRIS you need to realise this!

I thought he was already definitely going, based on that board meeting you said they had that Nicko said isn't until today.....

Wicked Rumour...

West Ham...Whisper it quietly but they could be going into administration as soon as Friday.

Wow.........thats big news for Blackburn Rovers.

If that happens on Friday, we win on Saturday and they get a 10 point deduction on Monday, suddenly things look far far rosier in the Rovers garden.

I hope you're right.

That might be interesting - who else gets the sickening feeling that if that happened we might be sat here like the Sheff United fans when the Premier League find some reason not to deduct West Ham 10 points...

To be fair are there another two teams who are worse than us at the moment? We need three teams to go into administration at the moment to give us a fighting chance!!!

Even if West Ham do get deducted 10 pts for going in to administration (although I believe it's against FA regulations) and West Brom continue to do dire - who else is weaker than us at the moment.

On paper player for player I reckon 4/5 at least but on our current performance I can't see a third team who'll save us from the drop.

No wonder there is rumours of West Ham going bust:

Lucash uspets West Ham by asking for a pay rise

"Lucas Neill has angered the West Ham United board by demanding a pay rise to stay at Upton Park. The West Ham captain is already one of the highest-paid players at the club, on £70,000 a week, but wants improved terms for a further two years to sign an extension to a contract that runs out in the summer. "

"West Ham were stunned to learn of the player’s demands for a pay rise in the midst of their financial crisis and rejected them flatly, with Neill likely to be forced to accept a huge pay cut if he wants to stay at the club. The former Blackburn and Millwall right back will be offered no more than £30,000 a week and if he rejects the terms be allowed to leave on a free transfer next summer. "

WHU are in deep trouble. The administrators of the parent are interested in getting intercompany cash back and might have an interest in seeing WHU go into administration to break a number of contracts and obligations.

WHU are all but unsaleable with the Sheff U situation steadily going against them and no deal yet struck out of Court.

WHU will probably stagger on into January when there is likely to be a substantial clear out, particularly of Egghead's over-paid players like Lucash, Bellamy and Upson but they need cash as well as cost reductions so Green and Ashton would probably go as well.

So administration is a very real and present risk but not the most likely outcome at present.

Having said that, there might be something unpleasant hiding in the Upton Park paperwork which could trigger an administration- no way of knowing until after the administrators have arrived.

Has the Sheff U compensation amount been defined yet? When is it payable by?

£30 million?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ed-failure.html

"That is despite the severe financial problems of West Ham owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson and the £30million penalty hanging over the club for Sheffield United's compensation claim for relegation from the Premier League."

I thought as much. And I'm sure I read the other day that Sheff U had successfully prevented WHU from appealling to CAS. So whats the hold up?

You are correct.

The three man arbitration panel has started hearings to determine the amount of compensation. West Ham have secured open books on Sheff U to see if they are fibbing about the amount they have lost and Sheff U have reserved their position up to £50m arguing second season losses should be considered seeing as it has taken so long to get to discussing the amount to be paid.

At the same time, West Ham have started talks with Sheff U to see if an out of Court settlement can be agreed.

If nothing is agreed between the clubs, the arbitrators have indicated they will make their determination of the award by March next year.

West Ham have the added problem that following the ruling going against them, there are 17 other parties arguing they lost money also- people like Warnock and the players pressing loss of earnings, Wigan, Fulham and Charlton who argue they lost £500K per place prize money and Bolton for some reason reckon they have a case over a Tevez-inspired defeat which I think is going a bit too far. No doubt Rovers are watching to see if Bolton prevail!
