Hughesy Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I heard it was closer to 70k when he joined and he hasnt signed a new deal has he? No chance he would come back here either, he just seems money motivated anyway now - maybe taking lessons from Lucash?

Thank (Please don't use that word again) they no longer have it! 'Fools and their money are soon parted'.
jodrell Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Will moan u be signing him definite penalty http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RZjvFdPGFfg
tony gale's mic Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Another win for Sunderland today. Hate to be a doom merchant after such a good win but events really are starting to conspire against us. Sunderland are really picking up form. If you look at the other teams within five points of us: City - won't go down Newcastle - I suspect won't go down (money to spend in Jan) Spurs - won't go down So I think the best hopes for us are: West Brom - at the bottom West Ham - will be forced to sell their big players in January Stoke - 4 points away Middlesbrough - suddenly dragged into it, 4 points away from us. Sunderland - but they're looking like picking up and have money to strengthen. Realistically we're wanting 3 from 5 other clubs, and if West Brom beat City tomorrow then it could blow the whole thing open. Still if we get those 8 more wins, the extra draws should see us safe.

John Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Its so easy to just look and see who is 4th bottom, and what points total they are on. However, keep on looking higher up, and it does make you feel (slightly) better!
Backroom Tom Posted December 20, 2008 Backroom Posted December 20, 2008 Lucas is a Rover, Lucas is a Rover nah nah nah nah
FourLaneBlue Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Despite the great scoreline today it does not make the Sunderland game any less important. One giant leap taken today...but more still needed.
tony gale's mic Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Stuck £50 on West Ham to go down at 11/4 before todays game...
tony gale's mic Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Oh and it's worth noting after today's matches that the bookie's three favourites to go down now are West Brom and Stoke (both odds-on) and West Ham.

The Allardyce effect eh? BUT We are nowhere near being out of the woods yet. It's frightening at the moment but probably very intriguing for neutrals. I'd like to see us still amongst the bookies favourites for a few weeks yet to spur on the players and guard against over confidence.

I should think our current manager should have much more effect on the players than the odds at betfair..
Tom 1 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 We've done you a favour tonight and took the 3pts off West Ham. Hope Big Sam can turn you around now and dump SCUM like Stoke out instead of a club like you going down. Good luck!
Billy Castell Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Was the Stoke game controversial then Tom? I do hope Villa get into the top 4. They have been better than the over hyped Arsenal.

It wasn't controversial, they're just filth. Never liked them, Stoke fans hate Villa. We definitely should have beat them it was a ridiculous result for us to lose 3-2, won't go into that tho, it was the best thing to happen to us as it kicked us right up the arse and we've been much better ever since. And I hope we do it, I think they're huge favourites still but hope your cheering us on next week, them and us on boxing day, cannot wait.
Billy Castell Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I hope you stuff Arsenal too. Would O'Neill be in for RSC? He seems to be the sort of striker that would fit into your set-up.

Nicko has already posted that Villa watched Roque and decided against making a bid. Villa are signing a big name forward but its not RSC.

brfcshabba Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Just so long as we don't sign Carlton Cole I will be happy. He missed a sitter for West Ham
Presty On Tour Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Friedel was outstanding for Villa and it benefited us today. Lucash tried his best to give Villa a pen and when that didn't happen he curled a beauty into the top corner all be it by deflection, good work!
