Jan Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Friedel was outstanding for Villa and it benefited us today. Please stop saying things like that. I could just about accept it when Brad was struggling a bit, but now he's clearly back to his performances with us and we're landed with Puncher Robinson, I just get very angry! Lions and the colosseum spring instantly to mind.

Tom 1 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I hope you stuff Arsenal too. Would O'Neill be in for RSC? He seems to be the sort of striker that would fit into your set-up. Your nicko guy says no so I'll trust him as he got all our other transfers spot on this season. We need a striker but not sure 20m on Santa Cruz is the right way to go!

Granted Friedel has been in the top 2 keepers in the Premier League for the last 4-5 years or so but his time is coming to an end. Robinson will come good. He's had a terrible time with his confidence following that England game and at Spurs - and that can't have helped during Ince's reign behind a shambles of a team and a leaking defence. Add to that the false praise Ince, Matthias and co have been lavishing on them all and it's no wonder his form hasn't been great. He's a Rover now and we need to get behind him. Most of the Blackburn end would agree given their chanting yesterday - and he made it very clear that he appreciated the support.

I think O'Neill will splash his lot somewhere else.

However, this was the same Robinson that flapped at every cross. I don't see any improvement from his "disasterous spell"- which I think has lasted for about 3 years. Therefore perhaps the disasterous spell is the norm....................

Just to throw it into the mix. Do people on here think Robbo would have come on more under his old mentor Steele our GK coach of two days or so? Not taking away from Mimms, but it was steele who moulded and guided him whilst at Leeds.
thenodrog Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Friedel was outstanding for Villa and it benefited us today. Lucash tried his best to give Villa a pen and when that didn't happen he curled a beauty into the top corner all be it by deflection, good work! You mean 'Agent Lucash'?
tony gale's mic Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 1-1 would be a good result today for West Brom - City. Make sure they don't catch us up but keep City down near the bottom.

I think O'Neill will splash his lot somewhere else. I wouldn't say Carew is a crock really. I don't think Villa fans are that bothered about Santa Cruz anymore to be honest, most seem to want Defoe/Suazo/Owen. I'll just wait and see.
1864roverite Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 There is definately 1 midfielder, English and has speed and quality that is going tobe available in January. That man is Nigel reo-Coker. He will be sold by Villa in january after 2 on the traning field spats with a coach and fellow player and this being the reason why he is not first choice int he team anymore.
Plastic Head Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I've got a dreadfull feeling City might have a new manager by the time we play them if they don't win today.
thenodrog Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 It wasn't controversial, they're just filth. Never liked them, Stoke fans hate Villa. Unless I'm mistaken from distance but I thought Brum, Coventry and WBA fans are all sworn enemies of Villa too? Do Wolves and Walsall like you or have Villa got the full set?

Where did you hear that? I hope it's not true, NRC is a top, top player. (Another Villa fan here, glad Sam seems to be getting you better already, it'd be a real shame to see Blackburn go down, a really decent club with great tradition so hopefully you keep up the wins, not against us ovbiously)
Plastic Head Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Mirror are reporting a £32M bid by Arsenal for Tevez. Nicko....can you remind me again who this money will be paid too please?
philipl Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Mirror are reporting a £32M bid by Arsenal for Tevez. Nicko....can you remind me again who this money will be paid too please? The simple answer is: Not to West Ham
1864roverite Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 City V WBA is not that exciting a game. All of City's Brazilian outfit are out for one reason or another. Close game to call but there doesnt appear to be a lot of goals in it. On the NRC snippet, that came from a Villa fan who I spoke to yesterday at EWOOD who was at the ground yesterday and who was guesting with a friends company. Thats it in a nutshell.
Presty On Tour Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Benjani(sp) has gone off through injury, groin perhaps which should see him ruled out against us. The game is not a spectacle but wba are working so hard, I think if they lose, it's over for them.
1864roverite Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I have just caught up with the sunday press and if we are to accept what is being said, then Hughes seems to have his work cut out with Robinho and his fellow Brazilian stars. reports suggest that he has his own hotline to the clubs Arab owners and seems to do what he likes. I wonder if they will all be fit for our clash ? 1-0 WBA "HUGHES OUT"
BuckyRover Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 His job is now looking extremely insecure. WBA 1 - 0 Man City
tony gale's mic Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I'm taking immense pleasure in seeing Hughes fall flat on his face at City. If Sam beats City next Sunday the lesson will be complete. Mind you - if City hadn't got extremely lucky in getting the Abu Dhabi financiers and we hadn't appointed such an incompetent manager the lesson wouldve been delivered some time ago...
Majiball Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 1-0 WBA Not convinced Hughes will return to Ewood at this rate.
The Rover of Finland Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 His job is now looking extremely insecure. WBA 1 - 0 Man City Sparky is out before next Sunday and Ewood park. 1-00 is well deserved.
1864roverite Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Just caught a glimpse of Al Hitchcock sat on the bench, he looks GUTTED and is wearing the exact same puppy dog look Ince had on his gob last weekend.
trs Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Keep him there another week and then get Ince in. Will the powers that be seriously give Hughes millions to spend in January?
tony gale's mic Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 You couldn't have scripted the various goings on at Eastlands and Ewood since June. Remarkable.
