Fair play to him for changing his mind.

The Hull fans/players are going mad but once they've seen the replay they will have to admit it was the right decision.

Shocking reffing, it was never a pen but he only changed his mind after the villa players crowded him.

Thats rubbish. He changed his mind after consulting his linesman. He admitted his error and changed his mind. The right decision from him, so no need to slate his refereeing.

Because he thought it was a penalty :P

The main point is that he wasn't afraid to consult his linesmen and then correct his original decision.

We slate refs a lot when they get things wrong. This time the referee got the decision correct.

Villa would have been penalised for nothing if he didn't consult his linesman.

Then why give it before consulting the linesman in the first place?

Not sure if you saw the replay TCO but from the Villa defender's arm went up as though to punch the ball which appeared to be arrowing into the roof of the net. As it was the arm up was after the ball had gone past and hit the bar going up in the air. From the ref's positioning, it could have looked as though the ball struck the hand and went up.

Fair play to the ref for double-checking. In fairness though, Tim, the Villa players did crowd the ref before he checked with the lino.

Fair play, I suppose props to him for having the balls to overturn it but he should have consulted the linesman first.

What the hell was Young doing though? Madness.

Edit: I think I'm just slightly bitter that these things only get turned around for the big teams, the only other ones I remember are the Scouse cheats and Arsenal.

Obviously he hadnt seen the assistant referee as he blew but the assistant did the correct thing and called the referees attention as he'd seen it differently and didnt want the wrong call being made. Excellent officialling if you ask me.

The referee can change his decision but only before... he restarts play again.

The ref should have not given the goal and then booked all the Villa players for not respecting the ref when they disagreed with him

Then booked the Hull players afterwards as well.

I know you're joking but there is an argument that the referee has just encouraged players to surround referees in future as there's a chance he'll change his mind. In the debrief at Refs HQ I'm sure he'll be reminded that he should not have immediately pointed to the spot. This is what caused the problem really.

Never seen Brad move so fast to race up to the ref to protest by the way. Just watch his quick-footed change of direction!

Ultimately, the ref made the correct decision, but he should not have given the pen in the first place. From the replays it is obvious he did not see the incident, therefore he should have gone straight to the linesman and gotten his opinion, rather than giving a decision and then changing it. Ref was overall not very good all night, but credit to him for changing it, it would have been criminal if it had been given.

Good for us that hull lost - they will get dragged into the fight for survival.

Heres one for the Kightly lovers amongst us

http://www.tribalfootball.com/newcastle-ho...-kightly-219410

At the money mentioned, well worth a dabble but can't see him leaving Wolves especially for that money.

Apparently tribal is being backed up with articles from the Sun and the Mirror.

£4m for Kightly?? Never ever!! Try double of that and then we would have competition from the likes of Everton/ Spurs & Boro for him!

Wolves are coming up aslong as they dont sell all their stars in Jan so I cant see him leaving.

If he's available for that money snap him up.

However my hang-over is not bad enough to make me believe it.

Does anyone on here know what happened to all the money Morgan was meant to put into the club, I thought he got the club on the cheap provided he plumped in 50M to the club or something are they saving it for promotion???

I can't see it myself. It is not as if his contract is running down as he signed a new one in the summer.

Unless he has a release clause?

What a waste of cash he would be!! Bolton need to start worrying if that is the sort of player Megson wants.

And we need to worry that a club With a similar ( slightly less) turnover can spend 3-4 million on the likes of Morrison; after already spending close on 20 million in the summer.
