Bolton could only name three outfield subs against Arsenal today due to injuries, so much for introducing academy players to Premier League benches.

Away game.. probably not worth the hazzle to fly them to London. If it was a home game, I'm sure there would've been a full bench.

I can't decide whether they are good or bad.

When our rivals play against the better teams they should lose and if they play against each others they should draw :) Looks pretty good (after Bendtners goal vs. Bolton).

Strange Sheff Utd selling their best player beattie for £2.5 Million for a club about to get £50 Million from West Ham.........

If they do not get a good settlement then they don't get the cash.

If they do get a good settlement, West Ham go into administration and they don't get the cash.

Being pragmatic I would say.

Fulham and Wigan are looking into whether they could launch a compensation claim against West Ham, should it be proved that the London club breached further Premier League rules in the Carlos Tevez affair. (The Times)

Further sympathy for the offender at the expense of the victim, this time by Henry Winter in the Telegraph.

He writes:

'How will Sheffield United benefit from further West Ham punishment?'

"...This investigation helps no one. West Ham will be further paralysed by uncertainty, making the club less appealing to would-be purchasers. The inquiry certainly will not assist the West Ham manager, Gianfranco Zola, one of football's good guys who may come under more pressure to offload players..."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...punishment.html

The point he's missing of course is that punishing delinquent behaviour should not just be about compensating the victim. It should also give the offender's peers an opportunity to show their disapproval and of course to act as a deterrence in respect of further infractions.

Taken to its logical conclusion, the reason cited by the three man Premier League panel for not properly punishing them by points deduction, (that it would punish the West Ham fans) would mean that clubs could basically do what they like and then effectively use their own fans as human shields.

Sheffield United, Fulham and Wigan will now hopefully enforce appropriate restitution.

West Ham is a rogue club and should be held properly accountable for its cheating and duplicity.

To hide behind the original Panel's decision is to make its fans as deceitful and disingenuous as the club they support.

I cannot believe our luck today.

All the teams around us have either lost or drawn their matches, in the case of Boro and West Brom, lost home games.

We avoided playing a team who had won more points home than any other team in the league AND were in form.

We get two weeks for our players to recover, so enabling Dunn, Grella and RSC to get fit for our next game.

We have two winnable games at HOME against teams around us, life is good :rover:

Stoke 0 Liverpool 0.

Now that was a performance against Liverpool- losing 1-3 at home was not.

Spurs back in the relegation zone.

I always thought that all the hype of us playing a great game against Liverpool was a complete load of balloney. We had been dire before and we just rubbish against Liverpool but for Ince that was a temporary job saving triumph.

Ince really was the reincarnation of Jim Iley. Shame he lasted more than 42 days at the club.
