I'm not really sure even if they get Kaka they are going to do that well out of it:

1) They already have four very good players who play in his position. Fair enough - Kaka is even better, but how long will he take to settle?

2) They desperately need grafters, not creaters. When they lose the ball they have no one who can win it back. There is no question that they can create opportunities. If they need any sort of forward it is one who can hold up the ball, not run at defences.

3) Their defence is a shambles.

4) Clearly there are issues with having lots of big players used to success in a smaller team. Ego clashes, not recognising the need to put the work in, heads go down when you lose matches.

Daft recruitment policy in my opinion. Man City need structure at the moment, not yet more flair.

I wonder if they could sign Kaka and still go down?!?

I think it's a case of too many cooks.

Hughes obviously has his targets: Bellamy, Parker, Rocky, etc.

Then you have the owners/board: Kaka, other big names.

This is the problem when the board start to enforce players on managers, but Hughes knew what he was getting into. I honestly don't think it'll be his problem for much longer, their board have high aspirations and will bring in a top coach, for all the good that will do them.

Bullard move off.

Spurs bid for Bellamy apparently accepted.

City close to Kaka, and according to the Guardian close to Roque too, and they might bid for Materazzi and apparently Nigel de Jong from Hamburg. Giovani on his way to PSG it looks like. Arsenal still acting cheap over Arshavin. What are the odds that they end up empty handed as always?

Finnan has failed his Hull medical.

Hughes has also warned us that they are risking losing millions over Roque if we dont play ball... :)

Ha ha blackmail - just typical of the bullish attitude towards Rovers and proof that Hughes has slipped into the over fantasised world that is Citeh

The only risk we have is finding an adequate replacement if he goes - if not we still have the player, who from all accounts is only wanted by Citeh - sell him for 20 million without a decent replacement and we are knackwered - keep him and he needs to prove his worth to further himself for his dream move.

We don't have the millions so we are not losing any

Milan give Kaka permission to speak to City. Mmm not liking this, football's about to go mad.

I wonder if all the money thats being pumped into to City is free or on a loan basis???

BBC

I've just watched his interview, one part had me laughing.

" the club have obviously sat down and discussed the bid, they feel its sound both business and footballing wise. "

I wonder what Robinho will say once he finds out his mates on more than double what he is? I wonder what all the other city players will say when they find out Kaka's getting more than *10 what most of them get even the so called big earners. This could cause a lot of problems at City.

Take comfort in the thought that ultimately the Arabs will take their bat and ball home and the financial implications will cause City to implode, the gypsy curse will out and and they will simply cease to exist.......... other than as a natural rival to FC United.

Ian Wright has already talked about this. He said it will be alright as long as the guy works as hard as the rest of the team but as soon as he has an off day and especially a dip in form it's going to cause real problems. Also if Hughes has problems now if he doesn't play Robinho, think about how it's going to be if for any reason he puts Kaka on the bench. Those wages and you don't even play! How much resentment will that cause?

I'm wondering where Roque thinks he is going to fit in with all this...

If he has any sense he will soon realise he won`t get a sniff at City once Hughes gets his dream team together. <_<

If he really wants to leave Ewood for a top 6 side, then he had better start knuckling down and working hard for Rovers. That way Rovers can`t lose,if he gets his game together he will keep us up and get his move which should bring us a nice hefty sum. :tu:

I can see a lot of players asking why he's worth 10 times the wages they are? Robinho may even ask for a rise! he's only on a paltry 200K (not sure correct if wrong).

Kaka's quite industrious for a flair player, talented and pragmatic with his style. Kaka however is not 10 times better than anyone in their squad, I'm sure one or two will go hey boss my names Richards, Hart, Ireland, Johnson, Sturridge "I'm a home-grown player you need me for your European squad, now I'd say I'm about half the player Kaka is wouldn't you Mr Hughes?" What price will they offer Messi? 1M a week, Cristiano fancy four Ferrari's a week free insurance as well? The mind boggles and I do not believe it will be the last time we read Man City bid 1trillion pounds for him and half a small country a week.

Who's your money on to be the first million pound a week player???

Its almost as if this Sheik is playing a game of FM with the editor on, No footballer in the world is going to turn down that kind of money. And here was me thinking that FM was meant to be a simulation of football not the other way round.

Mourinho had the right idea. Sign players who are almost world stars, up and coming if you like. Most of his signings came from what are compared to ours minor European leagues.

If Kaka makes the move to City on the rumoured transfer fee/wage then i can see it having a serious impact on the future transfer market.

Its going to increase the prices of players as a whole, both top end and at the bottom. Clubs will feel if their player is just as good as Kaka then they shold be priced at a similar value. Those clubs that cannot afford those type of players will face increasing competition to buy the players below that level, this will also drive up prices.

Then there is the whole issue about the wages, if Kaka gets £500k per week then other players are going to want a bump up in wages as well.

I really do fear for the future of football if Kaka makes this move to City.

Lots of transfer news today.

Palcios (Sp) to spurs for 14M wow

Johnson wanted by barcodes

Anelka on the move?

Personally I'd like to see Benni and Anelka up front together we'd have a sulk-force.

Mourinho winds up Fergie.

Kaka to sign for £243M pounds or alternatively 4 yes 4 blackburn rovers football clubs!!

wages of 425K before tax!!!! I assume you can just add 40% onto the 255K mentioned when dealing with those kind of figures?

Curiously anyone know what total NI payments would be on that salary, I'm curious to know how many nurses it'll pay for.

Unfortunately not true. Unlike Chelsea, Manure and Liverpoo the Sheikh has bought in cash and paid in cash for everything, so as far as I can see, City have NO debt. Therefore if he pulled out, City would be left with an operating model which wouldn't work, but which could be solved by selling the players quickly.

Ha Ha - good point. City could have gone into this arrangement with a £50m debt (£50,000,000 sound worse doesn't it) and come out of it with a half a billion pound debt.

City are the only club in the world who could spend £500,000,000 and have an upset squad going nowhere!

All depends on what you what them to do, I suppose.

Will any of it go through the UK tax system?

Bet he gets his ankle stood on in week 2 and what's he worth then!

Actually what's his insurance premium going to be? Might just have to play the odd game in case someone breaks him!

So all these transfers and wages the sheik is financing personally IE not in a loan to the club? Can he legally ask for it back? Can he just give the club that kind of money? (sorry knowledge in this area is limited).

Not sure how to take that it generates two images for me!

was just curious, you always see the should a footballer get more than say a nurse debate, just wondered how many he would fund based on average nurses salary.

You're on form today M.

Who owns the player? If the club is owned by Sheik as a proprieter then the player is his in theory. City is a Company though so if Sheik is the only? shareholder. In theory he's the clubs but the sole shareholder can make the decision to sell him for a good horse for instance if he feels like it. He can give or take as much out of the company as he wants. Even if there are other shareholders their share will by now be pitiful and he will be able to outvote them.
