Shaddy Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Unfortunately not true. Unlike Chelsea, Manure and Liverpoo the Sh eikh has bought in cash and paid in cash for everything, so as far as I can see, City have NO debt. Therefore if he pulled out, City would be left with an operating model which wouldn't work, but which could be solved by selling the players quickly. Jan, respectfully, I suggest you've had a slip in logic. If the players are on such huge wages that it would seem no other club could match, how would you get any of the City players to forego those contracted wages as required for a transfer/sale to proceed, let alone with the urgency you suggest ("selling the players quickly"). At best, City would have to pay the difference in wages from what they are paying, to what the buying club is willing to pay for any single player, which I suggest would still leave them in the situation you stated, but without the "but": City would be left with an operating model which wouldn't work

waggy Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 tuesday i picked up a metro on thr trian and they were advertising tickets for utd v wigan, the gate below 74,000 i think the bubble has burst
BlueWhiteDynamite Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I actually think its got bonkers all of this now. I understand people wanting the best at no matter what (KAKA) but spuds and Wilson Palacios for 14 million quid!! a player they signed this time last year for 1million. on the BBC website forum spuds fans are almost calling him the new GOD. "if diarras worth 21mill then this is good business" "if you've got it why not spend it on the best"... blah blah blah. I'd like to think that i'm pretty knowledgable with players in the premier league but really in my opinion has done nothing to warrent a £14million price tag.Wigan must be loving spurs' stupidity and when next season they realise he just looked good in an average team and is playing 2 games a month, the fans wont be calling him god anymore. oh also forgot the "he'll take us into the top 4!!" hahahahaha.
Ronin Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 You could say the same about a certain Mr Bentley
Majiball Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Who owns the player? If the club is owned by Sheik as a proprieter then the player is his in theory. City is a Company though so if Sheik is the only? shareholder. In theory he's the clubs but the sole shareholder can make the decision to sell him for a good horse for instance if he feels like it. He can give or take as much out of the company as he wants. Even if there are other shareholders their share will by now be pitiful and he will be able to outvote them. If I was a city fan, I think I'd be rather worried by all this without the Sheik their screwed. Not even united could sustain the 700 odd grand a week being spent on Robinho and Kaka (if it happens). I wonder if its cash up front on transfers or instalments? What happens if he stops putting in? Is he personally accountable for the debts or is it City themselves?
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Looks like Kaka is going to City if reports are true. This is going to have a huge impact on the transfer market and not in a good way.
67splitscreen Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 It done, no it's not, FFS, this is just like our own RSC saga. City say it's still ongoing with Kaka.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Are we REALLY going to see a footballer paid half a million a game? WTF is going on?
braddock Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 £684,210 per league game. well they can afford it. its a rip off but football is business and business is money. people make money selling shares for **** sake, just sat at a computer. these guy have talent at least. + with the billions spent on war i see no problem (im not a hippy)
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 When are they going to let the fans in for free at the Council house....surely gate receipts equate to nothing to these cash rich arabs?
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 If reports are true Kaka clearly doesn't want to leave Milan but the Milan board want the cash and who can blame them. If the Milan board decided they wanted to keep him and begged him to stay he would.
Amo Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Kaka will reportedly take £10m alongside his £500,000 a week wages. Absolutely sickening.
Majiball Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Man City's Next Target I do wonder what he'll do with all those flair players? Robinho and Kaka plus him and an unlimited budget, forget the top six it'll be the top one. I honestly think Mourinho has the ability to make it work (provided he picks them), did he not want Kaka at Chelsea?
T4E Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Everything else has been slightly worrying but still amusing. Mourinho to Man City is massively worrying. There's no doubt he could make it happen for them.
Eddie Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 They can have Mourinho. That would totally turn that club into a circus.
Majiball Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Berlusconi speaks on Kaka That with Ancelelotti's makes me think he will sign on the line, Milan are not even putting up a fight he'll sign. Looking forward to seeing him play.
thenodrog Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 If reports are true Kaka clearly doesn't want to leave Milan but the Milan board want the cash and who can blame them. If the Milan board decided they wanted to keep him and begged him to stay he would. 1. Kaka not wanting to leave is just another negotiating chip. 2. I'd wager the Milan board would carry him here on their backs for 120m.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 West Brom are 2-0 up, not good, City winning too.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Lucky Villa as usual, Milner according to the radio stumbles and handballs the ball into the net. Ashley Young has been sent off, 3 match ban is going to hit them hard and could derail their season. Chelsea losing to Stoke!
Eddie Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Villa have a penalty now. I don't want to see them trip their way to the champions league, but a win for them would see Sunderland very close to us.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Go on then Frank. Good result for Rovers, unlucky Stoke haha
Mr. E Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Cheering on Chelsea felt like cheering on Nazi Germany or something, it was so strange to feel happy at their goals, but a massive relief for us at the end.
Rovermatt Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Gutted to see United grab yet another flukey last minute effort. Yet again the failings of United's apparent opposition has allowed them to quietly ghost up the inside despite defeats against two of the very teams they've been competing with. Pretty pathetic.
