cn174 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Aalborg v Man City (on Channel 5 just now), and on 10 minutes the Danish fans come out a perfectly choreographed chorus of "Can you hear the City sing, no-- noo -- Can you hear the City sing etc etc - I can't hear a f***** thing" ... all in perfect English albeit with a distinctly Scandinavian accent!! Good work Aalborg fans! They won't be hearing much out of the City fans now either. Aalborg have scored twice in the final 5 minutes to take it into extra time. Excellent!!

American Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I thought it was against PL rules to be owned by a third party. Wasn't that the problem when he was at Wham? Well Man Utd will have to pay any fee to Joorbachien, - so doesn't he still own him? The only thing I can think of is that the PL changed the rules about third party ownership - I think. Not sure what the rules are now though. That's my problem with this whole thing. The only reason West Ham is in trouble is because they didn't get permission first. Mascherano was also on loan his first season at Liverpool.
greco Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 sad sad day for me.. i live in aalborg and played in the club as a young teen, and since then ive supported them. City were lucky. sadly our impressive european cup run has ended.
gumboots Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 That's my problem with this whole thing. The only reason West Ham is in trouble is because they didn't get permission first. Mascherano was also on loan his first season at Liverpool. And also that they then lied about what they had done?
thenodrog Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Assault charge against Gerrard dropped. Wonder how much that cost? About 25k I'd guess. Not all that much really unless compared to a couple of broken legs by friends of Stevie's wife's mate.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Is Walcott the new Darren Anderton? Walcott out for the rest of the season?
Billy Castell Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Wonder how much that cost? About 25k I'd guess. Not all that much really unless compared to a couple of broken legs by friends of Stevie's wife's mate. Are you suggesting something with that last sentence Gordon? Do tell.
philipl Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 That's my problem with this whole thing. The only reason West Ham is in trouble is because they didn't get permission first. Mascherano was also on loan his first season at Liverpool. Your other problem being you haven't been following very carefully. Liverpool and Man U loans would be illegal now under new rules drawn up since they were sanctioned but did not allow third party influence during the course of the loan. Joorabchian cannot tell Man U whether Tevez could play or not or sell him on whilst registered with Man U but he effectively had that power when the players were at West Ham and used it to transfer them to Liverpool and Man U with West Ham little more than a spectator in the deals. West Ham's loan agreement did allow third party interference during the course of the loan... and they lied about it... and they continued the pretence after being fined for it... Fulham launch legal claim for £500K- West Ham do have more legal problemsfrom Tevez.
den Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Thanks Philip, that clears some of the riddle up. So Joorbacchien is free to "own" a player? Any transfer fee is paid to him? The previous rule that players aren't allowed to be "owned" by third parties is now defunct? Joorbachien isn't allowed to have any influence over Tevez while he's on loan - so who monitors whether this is the case? Who would know, if Tevez wasn't picked to play in a game, who's decision that was? So complicated.
Majiball Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Is Walcott the new Darren Anderton? Walcott out for the rest of the season? I hope not England needs him, I hope these injuries aren't a sign that his bodies not up to the game. So anyone can sue west ham cool. Did they take any points of us that season in fact didn't they take 6 off us? So can we now sue them claiming it would never have happened without Tevez? Those four points would have seen us finish 7th above the bolton and straight into the UEFA. Surely the gripe should be with the league? they decided west ham should not go down.
Iceman Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Would the charges have been dropped, if it had been a fan accused of assault?
67splitscreen Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 England must be really struggling, to select Davies. Bolton's deadliest.
rover6 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 England must be really struggling, to select Davies. Bolton's deadliest. If Emile Heskey gets in (for some reason the goal-phobic forward has become everyone's cup of tea) why not Kevin Davies? Why not James Beattie? Why not Ebanks-Blake? The depth of talent in certain areas is just appalling. Still no sign of improvement that the FA and Trevor Brooking were promising.
67splitscreen Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Looks like we are going to be sat in 17th, need a goal from Bolton and Boro.
Mr. E Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 If Stoke win it's game over for us I'm afraid. edit: Yep. Looking at it realistically, the situation looks rather hopeless.
KoNG Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Did i just flick active over to see rooney get red carded, for throwing the ball at the ref....? Haha
Bobby G Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I think Stoke away will be a key key game for us. We must not lose that match. Spurs home now is vital too that we win. Eerie from the commentators today that we have the exact same number of points as we had at this point 10 years ago...
BRFC1995 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 much prefer arsenal to play silva rather than bentnar against barcodes, need chances to be finished against that load of cack, lucky point or 3 for that rubbish will kill my week.
