Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Bugger 3-1 Boro. And the Dingles are winning. This is a bad season indeed.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 The one good result is Pompy and WBA managing to stop each other gaining 3 points.
cn174 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 The one good result is Pompy and WBA managing to stop each other gaining 3 points. Yes, although Pompey do go above us
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I'd rather they went ahead on goal difference than 2 points ahead.
Blue blood Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 WBA taking any points of our relegation rivals is an unexpected bonus. Unsure about the Boro result, having Hull still in the mix for relegation is a bonus, especially as I don't think they've got the quality in the squad to sneak a win against the run of play. Also the result must pile on the pressure on the barcodes. Manure beating sunderland is good for us too. Chelsea letting in 3 is cause for optimism when we play them.
Bobby G Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Why are people not happy that Hull has lost? Keeps them in the mix. Boro still 4 points behind us.
1864roverite Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Stoke 0 nufc 0 only worthwhile thing od note is etherington booked early doors in what appears to be a battle dow the right flank. keith Andrews beware ! next week Ooijer must play right back
brfcshabba Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 1-0 Stoke - Controversy shouldn't have been a corner.
BRFC1995 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 GGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT IIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN! brilliant
Guest Kamy100 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Stoke 1-0. Great for Rovers, although a draw would also be good as it would keep us 4 points clear of Newcastle and also keep the pressure on Stoke ahead of the game next Saturday.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Why is that good? A draw would be better so BRFC have the chance to go above them with a win next week.
Backroom Tom Posted April 11, 2009 Backroom Posted April 11, 2009 A stoke win is the best result we need the teams below us to lose regardless, also stoke would relax more next week with a win
BRFC1995 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Why is that good? A draw would be better so BRFC have the chance to go above them with a win next week. because 0-0 in the 90th minute would give newcastle a chance to win it which would be disasterous, stoke leading in the last minute nullifies the chance of a sickening last minute winner.............added to the fact i would just love it if newcastle went down.
deftangel Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Why is that good? A draw would be better so BRFC have the chance to go above them with a win next week. Stoke have a very easy run in with several very winnable home games. There's no way they are going down now, even if they lost today. Next season of course, they will be found out and will flounder if they can't sort out their woeful away form. Even if we escape this year, if we don't sort ourselves out over the summer we'll need every limited championship-esque team below us we can find! If anything, Stoke might relax a little if they get a result today. Their game is completely based around their intensity, even a 5% drop off would make them half the team they are. Then again, if they win today then next week will offer them an oppourtunity to get north of 40 points which might fire them up some more.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 In regards to hoping Newcastle go down the team I would most like to see relegated is Portsmouth. For no reason other than Kidd being involved there. Portsmouth for that reason is probably the game I'm looking at as the biggest possibly. He's already responsible for one relegation (though if you saw the Shearer absolute hatred in 99-2000 against Newcastle it's clear he was blamed for the decline leading to the last relegation) I don't want him to have a chance for another. Though my feeling is that BRFC will be ultimately OK. I prefer to look up the table and I would rather BRFC have the chance to go above Stoke City next week. While at the same time hoping Newcastle don't have the chance to go above BRFC next week. A draw today means they won't have that opportunity.
speeeeeeedie Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Results have gone well again for us today. Pompey and Hull not getting 3 points against the bottom two keeps them in it. Man U beating Sunderland is also good. Anything but a Stoke defeat will also help us.
1864roverite Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I reiterate, its the teams behind us we should be concerned with and NOT the teams in front. Stoke to win to keep a 5 point gap between us and the barcodes. 6 to go that means they have to win 75% of them to give them a chance of surviving. Just how big are the next few games ? Stoke v Rovers Spurs V barcodes Rovers v Wigan Brcodes v Boro
dr_awol Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 newcastle have come out fired up for the secound half stoke should be 3-0 by now
1864roverite Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I know this is probably for the stoke thread but just by listening tot he radio it is not going to be a game for the purists. Stoke will go the aerial route. Rovers should go the ball on the floor route. At Ewood Rovers destroyed Stoke with the ball on the floor and I suggest that an early goal for Rovers will probably take the points. Newcastle have gone with the diddymen up front supplemented by Ameoibi and appear toothless.
LeChuck Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I can't help but like Ricardo Fuller every time I see him play, there must be something about him that makes good teams stay away from him...but whatever it is, I can't see it. Newcastle are absolutely woeful, and they have strikers and midfielders fit and they're playing a poor team. They look like a team that's going down today.
Backroom Tom Posted April 11, 2009 Backroom Posted April 11, 2009 Fuller is like roberts, if he could finish consistently he'd be a top striker
