Backroom DE. Posted April 27, 2009 Backroom Posted April 27, 2009 I thought Spurs were more tenative in the first 10 minutes, though they weren't as bad as after Utd scored. I still think Utd would have increased the pressure as the half went on and eventually drew/won. Spuds do have some bad luck at Utd though... was it them who should have scored when Roy Carroll was chipped, it went miles over the line, but Carroll clawed it out and the ref didn't give it?

Gus Gus Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Kranjcar has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Good news for us... he's always looked pretty handy when I've seen him play.
Blue n White Rover Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Kranjcar has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Good news for us... he's always looked pretty handy when I've seen him play. That's another transfer in my fantasy football team 1st Jagielka, L.Young and Beattie, now him. Not good
T4E Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Kranjcar has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Good news for us... he's always looked pretty handy when I've seen him play. Would have preferred him to have been ruled out after tonight.
Billy Castell Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Agree 100% about Spurs - the fact they got a dodgy decision didnt have anything to do with the next 4 goals. Pathetic and I cannot stand Redknapp, he has some wierd thing going on with his face when's hes angry too. I've done this before, but its always good.
Grabbi Graeme Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newcastle are going for it, 3 strikers on the pitch, Owen, Viduka and Martins.
yoda Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newcastle are going for it, 3 strikers on the pitch, Owen, Viduka and Martins. That should leave the back door wide open then
LeChuck Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newcastle are going for it, 3 strikers on the pitch, Owen, Viduka and Martins. With Duff and Alan Smith in midfield. The only way I can see that working is with Martins and Owen is wide strikers and Duff more central in a trio with Smith and Butt.. Very bold from Shearer however they sort it.
begresko Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 anyone else just wet themselves laughing at the man walking around the pitch "top chanter 46" The geordies loved him! I thought it was mike ashley for a second...
Stonesrick Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 anyone else just wet themselves laughing at the man walking around the pitch "top chanter 46" The geordies loved him! I thought it was mike ashley for a second... Pathetic and how Shearer looks soooo... nervous Just can't wait to see 50,000 Geordies crying in their newky brown!
Iceman Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 What did they give the fans to wave around? Black and white pieces of paper? Lol Bold move by Shearer, but might back fire on him. Smith, Viduka, Duff and Owen? Will be interesting to see how long they survive, as they have been injury prone this season
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newcastle fans will probably praise him for suicidal football. They regard Keegan as a messiah for it after all. SIGNATURE (MANUALLY ADDED DUE TO PROFILE TAG FAULT)
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newcastle started like they meant business. 20 minutes in and Pompy look comfortable. Enrique has just done his hamstring in as well. Cheer up Al!
Ste B Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 321 Pompey fans, and can still hear them singing "cheer up Alan Shearer"
Grabbi Graeme Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newcastle finishing the half as they started it, been a pretty open game so far, although not many chances for either side.
Backroom DE. Posted April 27, 2009 Backroom Posted April 27, 2009 Portsmouth are solid but don't really offer any threat up front... Newcastle could definately win this one. Martins has been abysmal, missing passes, missing shots, miscontrolling the ball... he either needs to drastically improve or be hauled off. Enrique's injury is a blow to Newcastle. All to play for, Newcastle more like to win it IMO... Portsmouth appear to be playing for the draw.
Backroom Tom Posted April 27, 2009 Backroom Posted April 27, 2009 I can't see Newcastle not winning tonight but they'll still be a long way from being out of the woods. Our win yesterday has made most other results mainly irrelevant as long as we can pick up just one more win.
Bobby G Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Loving it... The look on Ashleys face was priceless at the end... Newcastle half-way down Id say.
Amo Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Good result for us. Keeps Pompey closer to us, and Newcastle 3pts off safety.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Ashley was positively beaming at the end.
BuckyRover Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 The only person I feel sorry for is Mike Ashley.
Mr. E Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 0-0. Newcastle are done and dusted. This season might just end on a very, very happy note.
